I have to admitt that the staff is very friendly and i found the perfect products for my type of skin

Boo. I'm not a gambler, especially with my hair but still took a chance on the salon in attempts to save some dough. I should have just hung up when I called and the person gave me a price range for kerastraight from 169 to over 200 depending on who does it. I would think all stylists have to be certified to do this treatment. Anyway, I've been doing keratin treatments for around five years now so I know what to expect. It makes my super curly, frizzy hair soft and smooth, less curly and more wavy. I spent over four hours and two hundred dollars and wound up with severely frizzy and damaged hair, not to mention my color stripped out. I called to complain and they wouldn't give me a refund to go elsewhere. I had to go back in and sit two more hours and get a repairative treatment and a haircut free of charge. The treatment did nothing. I'm out over six hours and two hundred bucks and my hair looks WORSE than it did when I went it. I'm still unclear why the treatment didn't work on me and they sure were't going to try to figure it out by say calling the company rep. Oh and prior to this, my absolute worst hair cut was done at the Ulta in Wheaton. Now I can say two Ulta's have efffed up my hair for the last time. Be very, very careful with this place. They clearly don't know what they're doing. read more

The worse Ulta I ever went to! Those girls have no intention on helping their clients. I walked in with skin concern, I was looking for something to calm my skin down. Two associates came up to me asking how the can help, I explained to both separately what is going on. Both of those so called professionals tried to get me to buy Lancôme products, they could care less about the fact that I said I do not like Lancôme. When they realized that I will not buy a Lancôme product they just walked away without addressing my issue. I do understand they have goals but really????? At the cash register I asked about free gift with my purchase and was told they sold out weeks ago but they have really big poster in the window saying that you will get it. When I said they should not have this poster up than she said: hold on to your receipt and call around other Ulta stores maybe you can still get it. I wish I could contact someone higher up to tell them about the experience they are providing. read more

I'm very upset. I've been an Ulta customer since I was 16 years old and have spent thousands of dollars there. They have great products and I wouldn't complain but yesterday was my wedding day. I called 2 weeks ago to see if I could have a glaze because I haven't had color on my hair since 2009. I like my hair natural but the glaze would give it some shine but wash out. I made an appointment with Sue-Ling and on the day of my engagement I was so excited, I went to my appointment with my aunt and my fiance met me there. Sue-Ling did a great job on my glaze, I will admit. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair done for my wedding because I did decide to use her for my wedding day. I did have a hair consultation with someone else who did my hair in a curled bun which is what I wanted. Sue-Ling told me that the hairstyle was out of style and she would not do a good job on my hair. When I heard that I thought, "I'm going to have problems with this lady on the day, I just know it." If I'm paying for something, I don't expect someone to say they are not going to do a good job. So, yesterday, we were running a little bit late but I knew how I wanted my hair. I had numerous pictures, including the one from my previous consultation of the curled bun. Also, I had about four makeup consultations but nobody could do my makeup correctly. They either made me look like a hooker or my makeup was coming off. So, I made an appointment with Rhiannon on a prayer because I didn't know what I would be getting. Thank God she was good. My hair appointment was first and I was with my sister. She started on my hair. As she was going along, the front looked good and it was a high bun. I was getting excited and my sister said "oh, Ginny that looks really good." Now, my sister and I have different tastes and she is a major push over. Love her to death but even if she's unhappy she'll pretend that she's happy. I don't do that for any circumstances, and especially not on my wedding day where I am paying thousands of dollars. Sue-Ling turned me around and my bun looked like a bun that a ballerina would wear. I'm so particular, I was noticing flaws in that bun more than I would in a curly bun since ballerina buns are perfectly round and a lot of them wear fake ones to get the perfect roundness of them. I know this because I'm a dancer. I freaked. This was not what I asked for and was not in any of the pictures I had shown her. She did whatever she wanted to do with my hair! I needed to be out of the salon by 11am! I was like "oh my God!" So Rhiannon came over to get me for my makeup and thank God she knew what she was doing because I would have been screwed. Even though I was already behind and my faith in Sue-Ling had went down the tubes, I was still hopeful with Rhiannon. Sue-Ling had other clients to tend to but a few times she pulled me back to the chair to try to redo my hair. She curled it finally and pinned it, but she pinned it lopsided! I even said, "If I could do this I would do this myself." She was struggling with this very easy hair style. Really, how hard is it to curl hair and pin it? She got it close but I had to go back to Rhiannon to finish my makeup. Rhiannon finished and it was after 12pm now! So, at my parents house the photographer was there taking pictures without me and we were paying for this service. Photographers aren't cheap. I was supposed to already be there! If Sue-Ling would have followed the directions, we would have been on time because that other bun she had styled was finished by the time Rhiannon came over so regardless if we were a little late which we were by only fifteen minutes because I was driving from Romeoville, she would have finished with time to spare! Even Rhiannon said it was crooked. Finally she pinned it to look decent but when she pinned my veil on she pinned it on crooked. I was like "are you freaking kidding me?" She had the audacity to say it was material that was crooked! I'm like, "I don't think so!" I paid and walked out with a smile because I didn't want it to ruin my day but it did because it rained and I couldn't get pictures on the Riverwalk like I was supposed to. Now I have to pay for a redo picture day! Also, I had to pay for an extra hour at the reception due to this! When I called the salon today to talk to the manager to resolve the issue, she said verbatim, "In good faith I cannot refund your money because a service was done for you!" I told her I own a bartending business and my husband manages Black Tie Formal Wear and has the best store due to good service! Listen up ladies, steer clear of Sue-Ling. She will do whatever she wants, not follow directions, and tell you she will do a bad job. What kind of stylist says that? I should have known better. I've had problems with their salons since I was 16. I'll just stick to their products. Or better yet, maybe I'll just buy whatever I need online. They just lost a loyal customer and I think that's unfortunate. read more

Customer service at this store leaves a lot to be desired. I usually find what I need, but on my own. The samples of the cosmetics are often in disarray and completely unsanitary so I usually get frustrated and go to sephora instead. I was looking for hair straighteners on one occasion and the sales girl was clearly irritated that I had asked her for help. She flat out told me that ultra chi was bad and that she didn't know anything about the other brands I was asking about. Ugh. On another visit to the store, I got into an argument with an assistant manager over a special offer that I had received through email that morning. With a fine fragrance purchase of $50 or more, I was supposed to receive a free holiday plate set. he refused to honor the offer, claiming that the promotion didn't start until the next day even though we both looked at the email on my phone and there was NO DATE LISTED. I eventually won and got my free gift, but not until another associate behind the counter stepped in and suggested that he stop hassling me. He was rude, impatient and should not be in customer service. I even wrote a complaint to the ulta corporate office and never heard anything back. This company will fail if they continue to do business like this. read more

Any time I've been into this ulta I've been ignored by the people that work there and never asked if I need help. I recently went in there and had terrible customer service at the front counter. Won't be returning to this location again. read more

Can be busy, but keeps product in stock very well. Staff is very helpful and you usually do not have to hunt someone down. Wide selection and spaced so that it's not too tight. read more

I had a coupon for 10% off one item. When I checked out I had two items, one for about $10 and one for about $20. The cashier scanned both items then the coupon. I did not notice until I got home that the 10% was taken off the cheaper item so I did not get the full benefit of the coupon. I called the store and they blamed it on the computer and told me if I came back in with the coupon they would credit me the difference. So it sounds to me as if their systems are programmed to rip off consumers by selecting the cheapest item to take the 10% from! (This was at the Bolingbrook store) read more

I have been going to this salon after trying some high end salons here in naperville and I have to say as far as the hair styling/hair cutting is concerned I am uber satisfied with my new stylist Chrissy. She is new to the salon and does an amazing job! I asked for a new style and she gave me a wonderful asymetrical pixie cut, exactly what I asked! She is friendly and a great conversationalist. It's my favorite location in the area. The store is pretty well organized and carries both drugstore and higher end cosmetics. Most of the floor associates are helpful and friendly. I also get my hair done by Suling and she is very nice and great with suggestions. She is great whether I want a drastic change or subtle changes. read more

Don't go to their salon. Their stylists double book appointments, so you either sit there and wait until they have time for you, or you are shoveled off to someone else, who you still have to wait to see. Sort of defeats the point of making an appointment. I won't go back to this salon ever. read more

I hate to give a one star review, however I can't bring myself to give this location a better rating. Every time I've gone in, the store has been fairly dead customer wise and the girls on the sales floor are utterly oblivious to everything outside of their conversations. Help is never offered here--you always have to ask, likely become the recipient of some rude gesture before you end up realizing that whatever you're looking for isn't even something that they sell. Men's grooming section is literally one tiny display next to the colognes. Oh, and the salon? Forget it. The ladies were nice enough, maybe even too nice? I ended up paying forty something bucks for a terrible haircut a day before an important job interview because my stylist was busy talking my ear off and trying to make a connection with me. I was sure to bring pictures taken off of a barber's instagram--literally every angle this stylist could never need as reference, yet somehow ended up with a god awful mess that was probably an inch away from a buzz cut. Never again. I'd rather buy what I need online and pay the extra shipping. read more

I had a TERRIBLE experience at this salon. I arrived to my 1pm appointment about 2 mins early and was told the stylist I was seeing had just gone on break. That instantly turned me off, and it just went downhill from there. I then met the girl I had an appointment with and told her I was just looking for a style, a blowout with lots of volume for a fancy Christmas party I was attending. She asked if I wanted straight or curly hair, and I said STRAIGHT. To make a long story short, she was messy washing my hair, blew a small section of my hair dry then told me "this isn't really working out like I wanted it to," put my entire head of wet hair into velcro rollers (because "this is how all the old ladies get all of their volume!" I'm 26 and have pretty long hair), put me under the dryer for 30 mins, then continued to "style" my hair while I was not facing the mirror and had no idea of what she was actually doing. She turned me around, and I was instantly mortified. My hair was damp/frizzy/curly and nothing at all like I wanted. I wasted an hour and a half and $35 to go home and style my entire head of hair myself. I was extremely dissatisfied with my service and then had to go wait in the long store line to pay for this mess. The girl had very little skill and was unfortunately the assistant manager of the salon. Will never go to this unprofessional salon again. Ridiculous! read more

Beyond disappointed. I literally just made an account so that I can write this review. My hairstylist was very nice she sold me on a due that turned out to be $300. I showed her what I was looking for, describing different fun ideas i would be happy with. I said I do not want gold in my hair, maybe purple or fun colors done tastefully. She seemed excited and ready, which made me feel like I could trust that the outcome would be great. Instead what I left with was some gold orange looking color. Literally no one knows what color I have in my hair. I spent hundreds on a look that my mom thought I did at home by myself. I am sure the person who helped me thought they did great but even toward the end she got quiet and didn't look pleased with her work. So as to not make her feel worse and due to the time I decided to call in later. We called the salon and the manager made me feel like I was to blame. I don't like to make anyone feel bad about themselves but this manager made me feel like I could find it in myself. Needless to say just don't go here unless you want something basic done. I imagine that would turn out okay but I am really wishing right now that I had gone to a real salon so that my hair would look better, I would feel better and could have been treated better by the manager when things didn't work out. Oh I forgot to mention, the manager decided when she was done with the call and hung up. Shame on you for blaming your customer and hanging up. read more
