Krystal killed it today- I went in with zero lashes (long story) and she put on a brand new full set so they are now fabulous- I had such very sad news delivered during my session and she made sure my lashes survived all the tears. She was patient and sympathetic and made a rough time easier all the while doing what she could to ensure my lashes survived. A wonderful well-maintained spa and salon would give 10 stars is allowed. Outstanding front desk staff very friendly and well organized. I would recommend Angie to anyone that needed their lashes hooked up she is a skillful and very professional lash artist she is very knowledgeable with different lash lengths that are suitable for your natural lashes, she makes recommendations based on your needs and wants and the outcome of my lashes are always perfect and on point. I get colored volume lashes she is one of the only ones that I know of in the area that provides the service of colored lashes. Great location with plenty of parking as well as a great selection in the retail area of skincare and make up needs. A must if you need your lashes done. read more

If I could give this spa a negative zero, I would. Unprofessional at its finest. My appointments were either always overbooked or cancelled last minute (literally as I just pulled in) due to a "headache" or "tummy ache". Was forced to buy supposedly organic oil from her that was supposed to clean my lashes & when I brought it back due to a terrible reaction I was basically called a liar and said "that's impossible! It's organic!" My red eye proved differently, Grace. Tips: Don't learn anyone's name around the salon. They get kicked off week by week just like it's American Idol. Clean and relaxing environment. I walked in and waited for a second but could tell I wasn't expected. Grace came out and explained that I didn't have an appointment. I was selected to be on the waitlist where the appointment wasn't guaranteed. So if someone canceled I'd be called. Short Review: Worst staff & service I have ever received, ever. My lash extensions were applied improperly & as a result pulled on my eyelid & natural lashes & hurt very badly. When the burning from the glue (that had sloppily gotten IN my eye) wore off & I felt the full force of the pain, I went back in to ask Grace to either fix them or give me a refund so I could go elsewhere to have them removed, she refused, said her work was great & literally shut the door in my face. If I could give zero stars, I would. (Photo taken after I had her work removed) Long Review: Visiting Lancaster & wanted a facial & a lash extensions fill. Grace Marie Spa was the nearest place to offer both. I did look up reviews of the salon on yelp prior to booking my appointment & as most of them were okay I went ahead w/ it. There was one review however, that stood out and concerned me, it mentioned the lash extensions had been applied sloppily to multiple natural lashes. Each lash grows at a different speed so when this happens, one lash grows faster than the other and the extension begins to pull on both of them, causing pain, irritation, inflammation, & ultimately can lead to eye infections. This has happened to me before & was a long & painful process to get my lashes healthy. I went to GM spa, had my facial done, it was a lemon enzyme facial & it was great! Grace did leave a few red spots on my face from the extractions (which I had asked that she be gentle on to prevent, but it happens), but other than that, it was good. I had booked an appointment for lash extensions with a different lash technician, but she was running very behind & Grace said they may not be able to do my appointment at all. Grace said she could do my lashes immediately after the facial which sounded good to me. She did not wash my lashes at the beginning (or at all) of the appointment which I found odd because there was still facial residue on my eyes. She proceeded & attached all of the lashes while I asked questions like "it will be just one extension on each individual lash, right?" among other nervous questions because I have had poor experiences before. She assured me everything would be fine, finished up & as she was taking off the gel pads that covered my lower lashes, I could feel my upper lashes that had been sloppily glued to the pads being ripped out. I squeaked because it hurt. She LAUGHED, and said "oh did that hurt?" I said yes it felt like my lashes were ripping out. She said they weren't & did the same to the next eye, ripping out more. I told her my eyes were burning pretty bad and she just said "yeah the nova lash glue is great, it keeps them on for a long time"...? She gave me my comb, I payed, tipped 20% as I usually do by habit, & left w/ my eyes still burning. Got to my car & checked out the work, the lashes looked fine but weren't what I asked for. I didn't want volume & that's what she gave me (which is more expensive) & there were some gaps on my outer corners but overall they didn't look bad. However, once the burning wore off, when I closed my eyes the lashes pulled & hurt very badly. I tried combing through them & I couldn't because there were clumps of glue sticking my eyelashes together. I went back into the salon & told Grace what was going on. She treated me as if I was the greatest of inconveniences to her while she took me into another room to look at my lashes. She tweezed around, RIPPED OUT more of my lashes, then said she didn't see what I was talking about & that the lashes look great. I asked her if I could see the tweezers to show her what I meant and pointed out some of the clumps. She still said they looked fine. She called in another lash artist to get a "second opinion". Much to Grace's dismay, the lash artist agreed with me & said that there were some clumps of glue where the lashes were sticking. Upset by this, Grace chastised that lash artist & brought in another who suddenly agreed with grace. At this point I was a bit worked up because I was in pain & worried about the impending potential for eye infections I had gotten before. So I asked for the lashes to either be separated WITHOUT ripping them out, or for a refund just on the lashes, not the facial, so that I could go elsewhere & have them removed. Grace bluntly said "I'm not giving you a refund, my work looks amazing" turned around, walked into her room & shut the door. The other lash artists were looking at me, close to tears because of how badly my eyes were hurting, and said they were sorryj but there was nothing they could do. So ultimately, Grace went with the more expensive extensions without asking me, provided awful service, & was unwilling to fix them or give me a refund so I could have someone else do it. I left the salon in tears & out $70 plus a tip that was not deserved. I will NEVER come back & recommend others do not as well. While the facial I received was good, no salon with such awful & frankly, mean, management deserves your money. read more

The salon is actually very nice looking, however looks are deceiving. You can be the most beautiful person on the outside and in the inside you're ugly as heck! That's how I would describe this Salon and the Owner! One evening I was getting lashed by one of her lash girls and Grace was the last one to leave us. Well, she cranked up the heater to 80 degrees mind you this was late spring and she's the only one who controls the AC/Heater. Anyway after that it was down hill from there. The glue and lashes weren't adhering to my lashes. It took nearly 3 hours. She totally sabotaged her own employee...out of jealousy! Who does that? I had been going to grace since September until just recently I switched over to a new lash girl because my lashes constantly itched and hurt and I noticed that with each extension loss one, two, or sometimes 3 natural lashes fell with it. This was concerning me each time I noticed natural lashes staying attached to the extension lash. So I decided to give another lash girl a try. I went in and she shined the lights on my lashes and said "oh my gosh" I knew this was a bad sign. She explained that there were several lashes glued to my eyelid and that there were two or three natural lashes glued to the extension lash. She then explained that the issue with that is that each natural lash grows at a different pace and when grace was attaching more then one natural lash to an extension one was growing faster then the other and pulling out my natural lash thus the reason for my pain and itching. She said grace should be taking time to actually isolate only one lash at a time otherwise she will be causing permanent eyelash follicle damage. She also said that grace used tons of glue. In the end I lost several natural lashes (even though I took amazing care of my lashes by not rubbing, pulling, or tugging) and she recommended I take them off for some time and allow my natural lashes to recover. So instead of getting more lashes I now had to remove all my extensions and have damage and now wait longer to have extensions again. I'm very upset about this and will not be returning. Grace was also not the friendliest of people during my visits and I always felt as though I was offending her when asking her questions. read more

My experience began when I called to inquire about appointment availability. A young male sounding voice answered the call. I asked if there was any availability for a facial or massage this afternoon. His response, "yeah,we have facials and massages". I said, "yes I understand what times are available?", at that point a woman got on the phone and scheduled my appointment. Upon arrival, I can see why the young man waa distracted, he had ear buds in and was chewing food at the front desk, very unprofessional! After the completion of a form, I was escorted into a small room and the young girl handed me a towels to wrap around myself. I noticed numerous hairs, long ones, in the towel. Gross, and the sheet was not white and crisp. The girl was nice but I could tell by how she left the steam for my facial blowing and burning mu chest that she was inexperienced. She then applied lemon facial after later reading that I had sensitive skin. It was burning me so she quickly removed it. After the burn another client right in the room next to me had a loud, very loud mouth. No music was playing and it was very hot. The lady would not shut up so fyi the walls are paper thin. I could not wait to get out of there... when it was time to pay the kid has his ear buds in and he looked at me like I was intereuptinf his music listening time. Grace Marie Spa was recommended to me by a friend in the beauty industry. I've been seeing Grace herself for lash extensions for almost a year now. I see her every four to five weeks. I like using Yelp for recommendations, but I've never really felt a need to leave a review myself. I thought I'd write one for this spa. I've wanted to write a review, but decided to hold off to see if the service I receive is consistent. I truly enjoy my appointments with Grace. She is respectful of my appointment time. She takes pride in her craft and listens to my feedback. She is particular about using quality products that stand by their name. Our conversations are personal - like having tea with a friend, but with the added bonus that she's pampering me! The Spa is well appointed, clean and relaxing. I like that when I open the doors to enter the building, I can already smell the essential oils that come from her spa and I begin to relax and know that this is my down time. The people that work in the spa are warm and friendly. I believe it is because Grace makes the effort to hire people that share her work philosophy. I've also observed that she is no pushover. She corrects mistakes and fixes what needs to be improved in her business. She is wise enough to know when to ask for help or advice. Grace is good to her people and in return, I've observed that they are happy to come to work. My experience overall for the past year is consistently positive. Grace appreciates her customers and shows that she values them. I see the passion she has for her work. I believe she will do well and the spa will continue to be successful.
