Booked a makeup lesson and it was fair, I was hoping to get more insight like how to contour my nose or what primer would be best for my skin ( we didn't use primer) what setting spray to use and powder to avoid creasing etc (none of which happened) We started late so the appointment totally was 1hr. I feel like if we started late because the artist is running late then I shouldn't be charged for the extra 30 minutes. Also, the artist should be tracking the time and inform me "hey you're about to go past your allotted time so if that happens there'll be an extra charge" i didn't know that. Overall I did like the foundation used but it was a bit underwhelming and the time and charge situation did leave a bit of a sour taste. read more

This review and rating are specifically for facial services provided by Lillie B. I have had nothing short of an amazing experience getting Dermalogica facials with Lillie at this location. She is really skilled, knowledgeable and professional. Her space is very relaxing and safe. My skin looks super glowy afterwards and stays really soft and youthful looking. This is now my main self care and I only wish I had started going to her years ago! As far as the retail store experience and retail staff, unfortunately the situation has not changed for years (those who know, know). Regional management would do well to come in, hire entirely fresh retail staff and, at the very least, update their retail staff training to industry standards in customer service and basic operations. The only reason I visit this location is to get wonderful facial treatments and purchase Dermalogica products. Again, my skin services here have been outstanding. The retail staff's behavior is far below any reasonable expectations. Go get a great skin service and your products, then scoot with haste! read more

The Ulta Beauty in Flagstaff salon services are the worst ever!! Their services are a super cuts at best. Apparently the difference between a $45.00 and $67.00 is how long the individual has cut hair. I got Jesse a 20 year old stylist that did not cut the top of my hair which was a whole layer. This comes from inexperience. My bill $67.00. I asked at checkout the difference in pricing. Never once did the gal ask if I was satisfied or if there was an issue. Kids are running the salon totally unsupervised. Go elsewhere! read more

Booked an appointment on April 28 and was only informed when I walked in for my appt on May 10 that the salon was broken at the Camelback location and that I had to drive to the Christown location to get my hair done. The stylist at that location called me and said she has tried to leave voicemails (I did not have any) and that she couldn't fit me in by the time I got to the other location. The employee at the Camelback location kept saying I made a mistake and came to the wrong location when I was never informed of the change which they had known was an issue for a few days. I was getting my hair cut for an event and it would have been nice to contact me prior to the day of my appt and through multiple forms of communication if voicemails were supposedly not going through. read more

I had a generally great experience at Ulta Beauty Salon, especially with the hair stylists Ruby and Ana. Both were professional, friendly, and did an excellent job with my hair. However, there were a few issues with the management and overall atmosphere that impacted my visit. During my appointment, I witnessed an interaction between Ana and Jennie that felt overly aggressive. Jennie called Ana over in a very abrupt manner, which seemed unprofessional. Later, while sitting at the rinse station, I was uncomfortable when Jennie began taking pictures of a client getting her hair washed. The client felt awkward, and the lady tried to explain that she was taking pictures of a door next to the client, which seems like the case but could have notified before. This left a bad impression on me as well. Additionally, I overheard a conversation where Jennie was openly criticizing another stylist for running behind on appointments, in front of a client who was currently in the chair. It made the client feel uneasy, and they even apologized to the stylist for being behind schedule. It would have been more appropriate for this conversation to happen privately. When it came time to pay, Jennie, who was also the cashier, asked about my experience. I mentioned that I couldn't discuss it at that moment as I was running late, but she insisted on asking again while I was paying. When I repeated that I couldn't talk right then, she raised her voice at me and said she was "just asking while you're paying." It was an uncomfortable and unnecessary interaction, especially after what had already happened. In short, while I would recommend the stylists like Ruby, Ana, and Danny, the overall atmosphere--especially when Jennie is around--feels hostile and unprofessional. It's a shame, because the talent of the stylists is great, but the environment needs improvement. read more

I am ethnic and have very textured hair, I came here to get information on buying a product & LaRae referred me to some products to use & I asked her does she happen to do hair? and she said yes, she is one of the stylist! It was a slow day so she happen to get me in right there and I was beyond impressed she did a wash and silk press!! She has been doing my hair ever since, I refuse to go to anybody else!! She's absolutely amazing I have referred her to many people with different types of hair and different type of services and I always refer here! I also came here to get make up and they told me I was preapproved for a credit card and I was like no way, I signed up and ever since then I cannot stop spending money here and It includes salon services & money off anything with points! I was at this location earlier this week and I was helped at the register by a girl named Andrea. I usually don't complain but after sitting on it for a couple days I want to say this was the worst service I have received from an ulta store. She was rude and condescending. I had the greatest experience I've ever had at Ulta yesterday. Thanks to the phenomenal customer service from Richard B! I came in because I've been breaking out a lot on my cheeks and figured maybe it was time for a new brush and bronzer. What I really liked about him was how knowledgable he was with all of the products and the pros and cons that I should know. He sat me down and did my full face makeup starting with cleanser! He made me feel so comfortable and really listened to my concerns. I have issues with acne scars and he suggested the line BeautyBio, whom I had never heard of but, now love. He taught me new ways to apply my makeup like using my finger to apply my concealer instead of sponge or brush (which helps me to not waste product). I used to love makeup but lately I've been off my game. Talking to him not only helped me learn the new trends but made me feel excited about makeup again! I will def be coming back! read more

During my first visit, this location was absolutely chaotic. It was a few days before Christmas last year so I gave it that, but it was so bad that I never returned until a whole year later. This time it wasn't as bad, however, it was still pretty packed. There's a little too much stuff in there for that little location. Additionally, out of all that stuff in the store the few items I was interested in (Color Pop Cosmetics) wasn't well stocked. Bummer! The sales reps are always gossiping about costumers or other sales reps every single time I come in which makes such a horrible atmosphere. The have a bad attitude and roll their eyes everytime I ask a question, they are so rude. Only reason I come here is because it's next door to my house. Whoever the manager is she encourages gossip amongst staff towards costumers. They need to get rid of everyone there and hire a new staff with better morals. This review doesn't necessarily have to do with this particular store. I ordered an online order and received it damaged. They had put nothing in the too large of box to prevent the items from rolling around. The 2 mousse containers blew up in the box because the lids weren't on them. Luckily, my scent that was expensive to me, was not damaged. I received the replacement items and they were in a smaller box with a little bit of packaging material. But, no lids on them again. They were in the box but one didn't even match the product. Whoever packaged it, put in a lid that was too big and put the other one, that was smaller, inside the bigger one. Didn't happen by accident. When I called, the person that took the call, couldn't understand what I was saying. She said she would document it but I knew she didn't understand. I asked her to repeat what I had said and she couldn't. So frustrating. I said I would put it on yelp. There seems to be no supervising or training of care in the packaging of online orders. Then you add on the lack of language understanding on the customer service line and it causes me to shop elsewhere. read more

Even though I got a receipt for my purchase, I was told it was only for my record keeping and not for a return. So, if you dislike giving up your personal data, don't shop here. I would just like to first say thank you to the Elf cosmetics employee working in Ulta, her name was Heather she helped me get the Chanel blu men's cologne I was requesting to sample from the back, because there was no full testers in the perfume isles to smell so that I potentially could make a decision on what I was going to buy as a gift for a friend.. so while Heather was in the back searching for the Chanel blue, I was walking around, looking at the other men's colognes to see if there's something else that I could test out while she was in the back when I tell you not one tester, had any liquid in it left they were all completely left empty! So I politely walk to the center counter where they had at least five employees standing around the desk. I'm pretty sure it was the checkout counter for the hair care section.. and I come up to this man, not wearing anything indicating that he worked for Ulta. He seems like he may have been a manager or something but he was wearing all black and had glasses on white male. Very sassy he told me "can I help you? I responded yes, and let him know that there was no more samples left to smell he responds we don't keep any more samples on the floor because people steal them and we don't get enough in the store to put more samples out. and when I tell you the attitude that this man had was so uncalled for I was like can you just open one and let me smell it are there any samples in the back he was like nope nope nothing I can do. nope, sorry nothing I can do.. we only get a certain amount in from the company. I'm like, so what am I supposed to do? The whole shelves were empty and just looked deserted & neglected to me , I've never seen Ulta look so low budget in my life, but nothing was in stock at the store. It was just empty shelves. And unhelpful workers. So, as Heather comes back out with the Chanel blu she digs for in the back at my request, as I am smelling it and another co worker that works here she was standing with the man said earlier that was being rude to me.... This lady comes up to me with rainbow hair. I think it was like a pink and blue or something heavier set woman comes up to me very rudely starts yelling at me in the store, saying how I threw a paper sample on the floor and I don't need to be littering in her store.. and I calmly explain to her I said it on the shelf I did not throw anything on the floor. She continues to scream at me and get hostile. I tell her this is very unprofessional, and I would appreciate it if she just steps away from me and stop screaming at me. She continue to yell and raise her voice and bald her fist up at me and huffed really loud before walking away.. I mean this is just so unprofessional. I think everybody here needs to be fired and they need to get a whole new staff because the value of the store is just completely gone down and a bunch of employees are walking around like we're doing them a disservice for even showing up and asking questions or for help. I mean, just despicable. I winded up going to Macy's to purchase and smell the men's cologne and had a way better experience with my purchase and trying out testers to decide between. My experience at Macy's perfume was a 10 out of 10 great experience Ulta was just a nightmare, and I've never experienced that before I will not be going to this location again until they retrain or hire new staff. Sadly you cant retrain bad attitudes so probably new staff is the best option for the company. Again Heather from elf cosmetics was the only one who helped me an actually made me feel like I wasn't asking for the sun, the moon and the stars.! I love ulta it's my spot to go for make and everything but this night was Terrible! I bought a roll on perfume here while walking out I noticed it was damaged. So of course I turned back around and asked if I can grab another one. All the staff here is extremely nice. I've lived in the biltmore area for 10 years and have been coming to this location. Franco at the salon takes care of all my hair needs. I have extremely thick and curly hard to deal with hair and he makes it look easy. I enjoy my time here and never have any issues. I always feel beautiful when I leave after he does my hair. I just had 14 inches cut off, and then on a separate day went back for a full head of color. The cut and color were both phenomenal and I would never go anywhere else. This location is great! This isn't the nearest Ulta to me but it's my favorite so I'll keep coming back. Every single time I walk in, someone greets me with a "Welcome in", which is such a nice thing to hear. There always seems to be an Ulta associate nearby to assist when I need help. Even when they're really busy and the line runs long, the cashiers are always pleasant and kind. As I was strolling around looking for new perfumes & possibly makeup, 3 employees came up to me, first was a girl, she just asked if I needed anything & then left. Next was another girl again, she helped me recommend some perfume which I knew was over overrated but yeah I didn't really needed her advice because I knew what I was looking for but I don't mind anyway. Then the security lady came over. This time I felt like I was violated, stalked and I felt so uncomfortable. She was literally right behind me like literally 2-3 feet away & wouldn't leave me alone. Wasn't sure if this was because I'm brown, if this racist, if this was just their policy TO STALK a customer or simply just RUDE & JUDGMENTAL. I have NEVER stolen from a store ever before & I would never do such thing. And I don't understand why of all people & all customers, they would do this TO ME. I honestly felt like they were judging me as if I would steal. Like just wow. Do I really look like a thief? I'd understand if they're there to ask how my day is, if I needed anything and just leave. But they wouldn't leave me alone. I felt violated to be very honest. I almost cried leaving cause it didn't feel right. As if I'm being accused of something I didn't do. I felt like I did a crime I never even did. I've never felt so strange, violated EVER in a STORE. Like calm down, security lady and the rest of other employees. You can clearly see there are alarm sticker thing on the back of every perfume. What's the big deal? Plus the alarm thing is so sensitive. It would make loud beep once I touch it a bit. Which is understandable. Anyway, I will never come back here again EVER & will never recommend this to anyone else. I felt violated. Period. Hands down the worst store I've ever been to. GOODBYE. I landed in Phoenix today and realized that my Kenta flat iron no longer worked. I was so ticked. I had this Flatiron for 20 years now, but oh well off I went to Ulta to replace it. Normally when I visit Ulta, I'm being told to go there by my friend Angie because they have some great sale long. I was hoping I could get a good deal on a flat iron, but no cigar. The One that I found was on sale for 59.99. I didn't know how I would like it so imagine my surprise when I got it home and it worked like a dream. CONS: the customer service is nonexistent. I felt invisible the whole time I was standing there trying to figure out the difference in flat irons. This would never happen in a Sephora. I figured that this place would take care of the customers a little better. I mean, I knew exactly the product I wanted to purchase, no one would help me . From the moment I walked it, I felt invisible. There were plenty of employees but no one helping customers other than the one or two cashiers.
