From a Hairdresser's Worst Nightmare to Hair I Actually Love! I am probably every hairdresser's biggest challenge. Years of dark box dye, stubborn grays, daily washing, swimming in pools, lakes, and the ocean, plus falling asleep with wet hair more often than I'd like to admit. I booked with Nicole, and she was nice, but I asked for highlights and an overall brighter look for summer, and the result was nothing close to the inspiration photo I showed. I understand it may not turn out exactly the same, but I was expecting something at least similar to the picture, and it looked completely different. I also spent from 11:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the salon, which makes the outcome even more disappointing. I came home and no one could even tell I had anything done to my hair. I paid $250 for this, and I'm really unhappy with the results. I had appointments for a Moroccanoil treatment and a flat iron styling scheduled for 5:45 PM with Alex. Around 4:30 PM, the salon called and asked if I could come at 6:00 PM instead. I adjusted my plans and agreed. Then, when I had already arrived near the salon around 5:30 PM, they called again and told me they wouldn't be able to see me at 6:00 after all. Alex was extremely rude. When I went inside, I was simply told that my appointment had been canceled and that there was no time for me anymore. I explained that I had rearranged my entire day for this appointment and had an important place to be afterward. I had intentionally not done my hair because I was counting on the salon appointment. If I had known they couldn't accommodate me, I would have made other arrangements or booked another salon earlier in the day. By that time, it was too late to find another place with availability. The manager came over and said they would check whether anyone could stay later to help me, but after a brief conversation with the staff, they came back and told me no one would stay and that my appointment was simply canceled. There was no real effort to find a solution, no accommodation, and no meaningful apology for the inconvenience they caused. This experience completely ruined my evening and left me scrambling at the last minute. I understand that schedules can change, but repeatedly changing my appointment and then canceling it after I had already rearranged my day and traveled to the salon is unacceptable. I expected much better customer service and consideration. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this salon based on how this situation was handled. read more

But that's no excuse, I took my daughters for an experience to get tinsel on their hair came out unhappy, she made not one conversation whole time she had a face expression of annoyed and mad because of cancellation that was her fault. Being a huge FAN of ULTA online , i only recently starting checking out the brick in mortars !! i've preferred the online shopping due to all the INCREDIBLE perks !!! sadly since ive had some unfortunate encounters ,broken products , boxes delivered where porch pirates can grab them & boxes torn open with missing products etc, Sadly ive found the in store experience to not be very pleasant due to unhelpful employees who appear incredibly untrained in basic customer service skills & a lack of basic friendliness & simple respect etc !! When i visited this location a few weeks ago i felt it was actually better then other locations so i decided to return to this location to disappointely be met by a most horrifying manager who lacked in any kind of decently & never bothered to give me a chance to explain why i was having to return a certain product , She approached the counter where i had begun to speak with another employee and immediately proceeded to traumatize me with endless remarks that were not accurate in reference to the merchandise i had an issue with , meanwhile i have spent several hundreds of dollars a week online which adds up to thousands of dollars over the last several months and considering the amount of items i purchase there's bound to be a certain amount of issues & this was the case with the return i was there to hopefully exchange but was not given that oppurtunity due to this managers assuming something that couldn't have been farther from the truth!! Clearly she was not a kind or friendly individual , let alone professional or civilized whatsoever !!! things continued to escalate to the point that she threatened the police & actually was on the phone to police in an attempt to scare & intimidate me . i knew i had done nothing wrong so i just stood there telling her to go ahead and call the police , I Truly do enjoy indulging in my purchases & all the great promotions online so thankfully this won't stop me from being a reg customer but i truly hope corporate will wake up & deal with this type of very negative horrifying service that is unacceptable & MUST BE addressed since ULTA is such a great company & it would be a much better experience if the employees @ the brick and mortars matched the service that is given online !!! This is the ideal ULTA in LA. The staff is always friendly, helpful, patient, understanding; they always tell you about a better deal you can get, and I have never ever had a problem returning anything here. The parking lot is big and relatively hassle free. The store is never crowded when I've gone there which always at different hours of the day. Generally respectful, quiet; help is there if you need it, but you never feel "sold" anything. It's everything you want in a retail experience. Been going here for several years now- 10/10 hits every other ULTA in town out of the park! Truly have never gotten a bad vibe from anyone at this location, ever! read more

For some reason the staff here are so stuck-up and rude. I asked one of the workers on the floor who was writing something down on a clipboard, if she was busy and if she could help me check if a shade of lipstick was in stock. I was not expecting her to say, "Yeah, I'm a little busy. I'm gonna call someone else to help you". I go, "Um, okay". I'm meandering around for literally 7 minutes until the same worker comes up to me and says, "Okay, nobody else is available, I'll help you". You mean you'll do your job? Great! I've worked customer service, never have I ever told a customer I was "too busy" to help them out real quick. So weird. And definitely not the first weirdo interaction I've had at this location. Because she is very particular about who works on her hair, we asked an associate to recommend their top stylist, and we were directed to Nikki. Having visited this Ulta location multiple times, I'm pleased to say they're typically well-stocked and the store employees are always available to help you find what you're looking for, or suggest something similar if you're looking to try something new. I recently stopped by to find an all-day liquid eyeliner, more similar to a drugstore version while still remaining durable. One of the associates showed me a few options to choose from, and I also picked up a travel size Lolavie Restorative Shampoo from the hair section which turned out to be a great find and is a product I've really enjoyed. After two consecutive days of disappointing experiences at ULTA, I'm incredibly frustrated. At one location, I checked the in-stock availability for my foundation, only to find out it wasn't actually available when I arrived. Hoping for a better outcome, I placed a pickup order at the Sherman Oaks location, but that experience was even worse. I tried calling the store to get an update on my order, but no one answered. Frustrated, I drove to the store, only to find it had just closed. The employees ignored me at first, shook their heads dismissively, and when one employee finally came to the door, she immediately said my order wasn't ready--without even asking for my name or order details. When I asked why she was speaking to me through the closed door, she explained it was because she had money inside. To make matters worse, I could barely hear her explanation. Had I known the order wouldn't be ready within the promised two-hour window, I would have picked it up the next day. Being forced to wait an entire day defeated the purpose of placing a pickup order intended for quick fulfillment. Having been a loyal ULTA customer for many years, this experience has been the final straw. Next time, I'll be going to Sephora for my makeup needs. read more

Terrible management. The manager was screaming at her employees because they didn't lock the doors exactly at 8 PM. I walked in right when it turned 8 and politely asked if I could just grab hair ties that's literally all I needed. Instead of handling it professionally, the manager gave me the ugliest look and said, "Registers closes down at 8. If it lets you pay, then okay, if not, oh well that's not my problem." First of all, registers don't just magically shut down, you choose to close them down. And there were still customers inside the store who hadn't even paid yet, so how does that make sense? I was literally in and out in under a minute, and my checkout time was 8:02 PM. There was absolutely no need for her to scream at her staff and give me attitude. Her name is Michelle. Seriously, get a new manager. I would 100% rather take care of one last customer than lose one over something so minor. I purchased a lot of stuff from here. One of the things was a hello kitty vanity last thing I really like it actually just doesn't last long time with battery usage mostly always has to be plugged in. Then I purchased perfume that they didn't have in stock and they also did not have perfume sampler's which is a little bit frustrating. To top it off I gave the person my exact address and I typed it in a few times and double checked as well. Then come to find out that my package was lost because they sent it to the wrong address apparently which was a big inconvenience for me and super extremely frustrating. It was my first time buying tree hut scrub which that was compared to pink scrub that I usually get very exfoliating and good but left my skin super dry afterwards. I have made 4 appointments in the last 2 months and she has cancelled every single one - the last one she cancelled an hour before my appointment. Trust me, I am not unreasonable. Emergencies happen, but to cancel four times at the last minute is completely unacceptable. Ulta should not keep unreliable people employed. Not to mention, the turn around here is nuts. It's a revolving door if employees. They still have not hired anyone for the brow bar. The lines are always ridiculous. Save yourself the frustration and go to Sephora. Trust me. The management here is just horrible. Ulta Management: do not bother to apologize or reply to my negative feedback. It is meaningless. Look at the negative reviews. BIG SHOUT OUT to #HairByArielleLaPierre for absolutely stunning VIVIDs she put in my long brunette hair a couple days ago. I HIGHLY recommend Arielle for your VIVIDs needs!!! But a VERY important side note to the GM: PLEASE, either completely separate the salon speaker volume from the rest of the store or keep the music volume at a decent decibel! That confounded salon speaker sits just above Arielle's station and with the speaker in the wash area, it's absolutely professionally UNACCEPTABLE to turn the volume up in those two areas! If it weren't for Arielle and one of her salon co-workers being on top of making sure the volume was turned back down multiple times during my 3hr appt, I would've completely flipped my lid! The salon and the main store speaker volumes should be completely separate and the volumes for both set accordingly [period]. That said, Arielle ROCKS!!!! read more

I have gone to this store four times. Each time they were grossly understaffed on the floor, had low stock on the items I went in for, and had long lines. Perhaps employees would be nicer if there were more of them.
