I usually go to Sephora but wanted to try Ulta. I've only been to 1 Ulta ever and that was years ago. There was no one to be found to help answer questions for me. Every associate I did find was busy with someone else. I asked brief questions and they just kind of verbally direct me to wherever I would find the product I was looking for. Only one person (didnt get her name since I didn't see a name tag) was able to help me and helped explain some products. There were only 2 people at check out and the line was kind of long. A 3rd person did approach the counter to answer the phone but didn't help the line move after he was done. Not sure if I would go back to this location. read more

I just wanted to recognize the employee Izzy who works at this Ulta. I was looking for a new foundation, and when it comes to makeup in general I have to admit that I am pretty hopeless. I have moderate acne scarring and can never seem to find the right shade for me. I have only been color matched once or twice, but I tend to shy away because I don't want to bother the employees and take time away from their other tasks. When I walked in today, Izzy approached me right away and asked if I needed any help. He seemed very friendly so I asked about color matching and he told me of course. He had a really good eye and took the time to find a color that worked for me. Very professional, very knowledgeable, personable, skilled, and so sweet. He absolutely deserves recognition. I decided to take advantage of the online sales and use the store pick up option. It was a very simple process and I received extra points on one of my cash back apps. I was lucky to get parking right up front. I wasn't initially greeted, but that was because the store associates were with customers. I went to the designated area, which was hiding behind a stand (might want to move that a tad out of the way) and waited for a few seconds. I was greeted as soon as the associate could and shared that someone one help me soon. Within less than a minute the associate Jakob came and took care of me. Jakob was welcoming, kind, quick, and helpful. As other customers were walking out they shouted how excellent and helpful Jakob was. I was in and out in less than five. It's 2019. You would think by now, no really means no. Not at this store in Temecula. They will hound and harass you to sign up for their rewards program. They can try once or twice but to continuously hound and start interrogating you to sign up is inappropriate. After multiple attempts of respectfully declining, they start with the attitude and shaming. Their idea of customer service is bullying? Good luck with that strategy. Horrible customer service.... and the employee's have the nerve to blame online retailers when brick and mortar stores close down and they're out of a job. Plenty of people still enjoy going to stores as long as they get the "service" online retailers lack. But if they're not willing to provide that customer service, they have no one or nothing to blame but themselves ! Do yourself a solid and shop on amazon. You may not get "service" but at least you can spare yourself from being harassed. They need to know their own policies. I was actually really happy with my hair I just had the tiniest amount of roots since it's been less than a month I had my hair done last and wanted a simple root touch up. I came in with pretty bright platinum blonde hair. First of all when she did my roots my scalp was BURNING on fire and that's not normal ever for me. After she finally rinsed it I kept telling her she missed a few spots and she barely even shampooed my hair. I had to get my hands in there and show her and was trying to hint to use her fingers to rinse it.. soooo awkward but she barely even shampoos or rinsed it and I could feel spots she still missed. Even my shirt got soaked I just felt like it was her first day or she just had zero experience when I booked the appt they assured me she was a master and she'd do amazing even with blonde hair. I've never had a worse experience in my life. SO, we get back to the mirror and my hair was bright yellow/orange at the roots. Yikes. THEN she left for 10 min mixed up a concoction and started just painting it on my hair which was a really dark brown color that turned black. I was scared. We didn't discuss this and this is nothing I would ever think would turn out good. I asked her what she was doing and why she was using that dark color and she assured me that it would turn out blonde like the picture and rinse right out. I was able to take a quick pic before my phone died. I couldn't have ever been prepared for what happened next. She left on this dark color on the first 1/2 my head over 30 min, could have been 45 min. I started to loose track of time but I came in and started my appt at 10am. Finally after she rinsed it out it was the same thing she barely rinsed it and had no clue how to shampoo a clients hair. I wanted to take over and shampoo and rinse it myself. My shirt was soaked again. When we came back to the mirror I was completely MORTIFIED, shocked, scared and almost started crying. My hair was orange and black and silver gray. It was the ugliest hair I've ever seen in my life and my hair was completely ruined. It looked worse than a bad Halloween wig. I said OMG NO this can't be happening what did you do? She said don't worry let me dry it. I told her my hair was orange and black and gray and I never in my life would EVER want anything like that and I felt SO ugly I was right about to have a baby this was the worst thing that could possibly happen. I almost started to cry and as she dried it I got even more upset and sad by how ugly and scary it was. I told her that it was NOTHING like the picture I told her when I came in I liked my hair I liked the color it was I was happy with it even when she suggested a toner on the bottom half to blend it I said idk I like it the color it is, not orange or yellow or ashey it was just how I liked it bright blonde with a slight golden tone to it. She then told me that she could fix it and by now I had already felt like my hair had been through enough and how do you take black and orange and grey out of what was platinum blonde hair? She then waited for the salon manager I tried to explain how horrified I was and this can't be happening I am days away from having a baby am I just not supposed to take pictures of what's supposed to be a once in lifetime happiest time of life when I feel so ugly and depressed with ugly ruined hair that made me look REALLY ugly??? Plus the chemicals they had to use to remove the black and orange were not anything I wanted to use since I was 9 months pregnant AND my hair had already been damaged enough this appointment. I had no choice. They never once apologized they just said they understood my concerns. I was having the worst anxiety ever and it was like being stuck in a nightmare that I just wanted to be over. It was complete torture I had to go through the stylist putting that chemical stuff in my hair to try & get the black & orange out and then we went back to the chair after she rinsed me out again and my hair was SO ugly and ORANGE and grey. YUCK. I started to cry. Then we had to bleach all my hair again. Yikes. My hair had already been through enough and now this. I had no choice. Look like an ugly witch from Halloween with my now ugly ruined hair or take another chance of trying to get it to look somewhat normal again. All of my hair was completely fried by this point when I came in it was SO healthy, soft and pretty just a little roots. Finally she came back and we went to go rinse my hair. I was soaked my shirt got wet again, she barely rinsed my hair and I was cold, starving since I had been there since 10am and it was past 3pm at this point and I was traumatized over this I just wanted to go home. My whole day was ruined, my hair was ruined, all of the nice photos I planned for my birth of my baby needed to be cancelled now and the list goes on. We went back to the mirror and my hair was a muddy grayish blonde color but completely fried and I knew it was not good but I just had to get out of there. read more

I tried to order online and pick up in store only to be disappointed and spoken to rudely. I placed the order at 7:30 in the morning and tried to pick it up at 2 o'clock only to be told that they didn't start filling online orders until the evening. On top of that they said they would not honor the online price and that my order would ring up more expensive in the store. I asked to speak to the manager and she was extremely rude. I LOVE this place as most ladies do but it's not just all the beauty products. The customer service here is excellent! The employees always ask if you need help or want to try a product out. I bought a concealer that just didn't work and brought it back and they where so friendly and took me to try on different concealers until we found one I loved. I went in for partial highlights and planned on spending maybe 2 hours at most there. I wasn't greeted by anyone when I walked up and sat down in the salon waiting area. I was met by my stylist 22 minutes after my scheduled appointment time with no apology. The worst part was after she foiled my hair, she told me to sit there. Then, she went to do another girl's hair. She blew dry it and curled it, which probably took 30 minutes. I have never had foils on my hair that long. Then she shampooed my hair and kept bending my ears in ways I have never had them bent before. She asked if I wanted a toner and I told her do whatever she thought was best. This I will NEVER do again. She let the toner sit on my hair for 26 minutes. It oddly started burning about 10 minutes into it, but when I went to find her she wasn't around. Anyway, my hair is still gray two days later and literally 8 clarifying shampoos later. I went in for lighter hair and now it looks dark brown. I am so upset that I had to pay for toner too. The manager offered for me to come back but said the same girl would fix my hair. I just couldn't go to her again. I am so upset. I had saved up for this hair service for months and was so looking forward to just having lighter, brighter hair and feeling better about myself. No such luck. read more

I would like the contact information for the corporate office. I have reached out to this company three times and all attempts have failed to cancel my order or even redirect to the correct shipping address. I am beyond frustrated with this company that they haven't planned ahead to think that perhaps someone might want to change the shipping address last minute or cancel an order immediately after it was placed. I have not had any kind of problem like this with Amazon, Target or Victoria's Secret when I do all of my purchases with them. I was a very happy and loyal customer and this was the only place that I purchased all of my beauty products. But it looks like I will no longer be doing so. The only thing that I wanted done was to change my order shipping address after the order had been placed. I tried calling immediately after I placed it but the facility wasn't open. I called the next morning and it was already too late I called to speak to a supervisor and it was still too late I emailed immediately after I placed the order and it was too late. This is absurd! I visited the Temecula store on Tuesday, Oct 24th. This was my second visit, and I found it to be very crowded. There was only one cashier working, yet there were multiple associates and the store manager in the store. The line became very long, and people started getting frustrated. The woman behind me actually walked out and told the manager that this was ridiculous to let the line get so long (there were probably about 15 people in line). He simply smiled and said 'I only have one cashier right now because the other one is at lunch'. No apology or anything. In my opinion, his time would have been much better spent working that second cash register. I will not likely visit this store again. read more

I have not yet had service done at this location but so far their customer service is more than 5 star worthy. Monique and Sarah were EXTREMELY helpful in trying to correct a bad color job I had at another Ulta location. Forewarning Ulta has a 7day color correction policy, anything after 7days they charge. I was unaware of this and "waiting" for my color to lighten up as instructed by the stylist from the other store. I waited 3 days too many, but Sarah was able to accommodate me and assured me i won't be walking around with a bad color for much longer. I love when people actually care about their customers and are able to turn a negative situation into a positive. I look forward to Monique coloring my hair and becoming a returning client. read more
