I am a happy customer and client of Ulta Waco. Casey is my stylist and really is a hair magician. She is an expert at her color craft and knows just the look for your face shape and skin tone. Highly recommend. The store itself is nice. Large selection of designer brands and bargain. Large fragrance selection. My only complaint would be they tend to run out of sale products and high demand products fairly quickly and the wait for a register is usually long. I will continue to return. read more

went in today looking for some hair and makeup/skin care supplies. I have depression and it's really hard for me to take care of myself but here lately I've been wanting to take better care of myself. it's the day after Christmas so I know they're busy and all but because of my lack of knowledge of products and trying to research online and getting myself nowhere, it's normally better for me to ask them for help. I literally spent 2 hours in that store and got 0 help at all. Looked for someone for that entire time and every time I would find someone they were doing something for someone else that would always take way longer than it should've. this experience made me want to go back to point a and just forget it. Haley booked an appointment for me over the phone for a color, cut and style. Was so excited to get a new style and showed up for my appointment, just to be told by Haley that she remembered speaking with me, but the computer system lost my reservation. I would have to wait two more months to get in. She never apologized, she just stared at the computer and would not even look me in the eye. She was just like oh well, we just do not care about our customers. Find another salon we have enough walk in clients to warrant our business. Too bad. Therefore, since apparently, they do not care about customer service or repeat customers, I did find another salon that did care about customer service and having a loyal customer that would return for service. I understand why these people have a two star rating. I made a appt and was very excited to get my hair done . I went into detail what I was wanting to get done when I spoke to Cali over the phone but it was the ol "bait and switch " when I arrived, and it pissed me off ! When I got there I showed a pic to him of a example and over the phone I said I wanted silver high lites, and our conversation over the phone went like this "... well you know I think a gloss is what we ll do..." I said "well, no, Im serious about wanting silver COLOR", he said "ok well I can add a little color to the gloss...", I said alright I guess ‍. When I showed up I was immediately told he wouldn't have time for high lites but come on back and we ll do the "gloss", OH HELL NO IM NOT COMING BACK FOR YOU TO DO SOMETHING THAT YOU WANT TO DO BECAUSE YOUR TOO LAZY AND NO I DONT WANT YO RESCHEDULE ! And I walked out! I had been having a awful time w my love life and if there was ever a time that I needed my hair done , IT WAS TODAY ! Cali will make you a appt and then only want to do a minimal amount of work. When your speaking to him over the phone... do not have expectations that he will give you what your wanting! Supposedly I'm doing all over hair color, when I got there the hair stylist that was appointed to do my hair stood on the back of my chair and put her hand in her waist and spoke "so, what's going on??!!" Not a friendly tone or concern. I let it go, then she look at my hair and suggested hair color correct. I asked the price she gave me her computation and I agreed. Not friendly at all, the whole process sheve been whining she tired and, not her day to day, she keep mentioning my hair eats up, and her hand is tired and sore. Color cause she mixed more than couple times. I also showed her the hair cut I want, she answered me "are you sure with that? Don't be coming back here with me and complain you don't like it" (Yes I mention to her I hate if my hair gets in my face, and the haircut I want is with bangs, but can't she just agree on customers request instead being rude?) she my hair needs to be toned but her mixture was Locke up in the cabinet so I need to reschedule to fix my hair. I missed it(I didn't mean it) she called me, so I asked if I could reschedule. She answered me "My manager only allow to fix hair just for this week, I can't do that after this week, if you come by today I can only put the toner, but I cannot rinse it" Me: I'm terrified on what she said. I said I'll Call back but, never did cause I don't trust them Anymore. read more

Tried to run into the store quickly to grab two items that were listed as "in stock" on the website. Unfortunately, I asked for help twice and was pushed onto other people. Their excuse was "I cannot leave this spot on the floor". I have worked retail and understand zones, but the section I asked for help in was maybe 5 feet from her. She directed me to another associate, who seemed exasperated and annoyed that another person was asking for help. She told me I "would need to give her a minute", to which I said no problem. After waiting for 20 minutes for someone to help, I left the store. Really, really poor customer service. The store was a mess and it was so hard to find my items. It did appear they were understaffed, but either way not a great experience. Please find them the support they need or provide them with the tools/knowledge necessary to do their job. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! They had at least 8 employees working and no one said hello, there was no one we could as for help and there was only 1 person at the cash register! There was at least 20 people waiting in line! When I asked them to call for back up register support the employee just stared at me! When I drop $100 at a business I expect better customer service or at least no long lines! The employee didn't say thank you or have a nice day! Seriously the rudest Ulta I've ever been too! Staff are racist. Went in to get a cologne. Spent 20 minutes deciding between two colognes and the whole time 2 employees were just standing were I was watching to see I was going to steal. Once I pick the cologne I headed to the front where the register is located and both employees proceed to follow me to the front discreetly. Staff is rude, condescending and unwilling to help. We ordered a straightening iron online because of quarantine and tried to pick it up curbside at the store and they wouldn't bring it out. What is the point of offering curbside service if you won't go curbside? The excuse about not allowing employees outside after dark doesn't work when it's not at all dark outside - this was before sunset. Very disappointed in Ulta's poor customer service today. read more

Today, my MINOR daughter was duped into opening a credit card at this Ulta!! THIS is unacceptable & irresponsible of this business! She thought she was getting a rewards card. Now, my daughter is very intelligent, so if your cashier misrepresented the fact that what she was pitching was a CREDIT CARD, then shame on you (& this is exactly what you did). Not once did you ask for ID. I called & was told I will have to call the number on the pamphlet to cancel this. We will steer clear of Ulta stores in the future. read more

NOT ONLY was the staff extremely rude to my mother when she asked a simple question (probably because the employee was putting on her own lipstick and my mother interrupted her) I overheard them making fun of her when she walked away. The staff was standing around seemingly doing NOTHING while the end cap stations on the prestige side had NO tissues, NO cotton rounds, NO lipstick applicators... and we're absolutely disgusting. Multiple testers on the prestige side were dried out, messy, and a lot of them were missing. When overhearing conversations between the staff and guests in the store, the staff seemed to have NO product knowlege and couldn't answer any questions. Very unprofessional and flat out RUDE behavior, messy center, and overall disappointing experience. My mother and I both are licensed estheticians and know what it takes to run a smooth center and to get and keep guests. I will not be returning to this store. read more

Had a STANDING hair appointment for over a month as I was in town for a wedding. As an adult I realize you can't quote hair over the phone w/o seeing it first, but when I got there the hairdresser (turns out it was the SALON MANAGER) saw my hair was naturally curly. Automatically she had the look of " I don;t want to deal with this early on a Saturday" So she started out with 1- Did they quote you a price over the phone? To which I replied, they told me it would be the $56 Style for the things I wanted done 2-She says, ti will be an extra $10 to straighten your hair To which I replied" I was told it would not be extra and to just have it washed and dried....or else I could've straightened it at home 3- After I was resolved with having to pay an extra $10, she goes "And b/c I am the Salon Manager my prices are higher than the others" I replied to her, I did not ask for the Salon Manager, so is there any one else available. She replied no... At this point, I'm beyond frustrated, in WACO for a wedding, and need my hair done. I told her whatever, I just need my hair done. She then takes the cape off of me, says she is uncomfortable doing my hair and tells me to leave. I do not know if this woman just did not want to deal with my hair, did not know how to or care to deal with an Ethnic Persons hair or was just simply lazy and rude. But I have been a LOYAL customer to Ulta for YEARS and this has SERIOUSLY made me rethink where I will be buying beauty supplies from now on. Shame on you and your lack of professionalism. read more

I love Ulta! Ulta is to me what Home Depot is to the craftsman. However not once but twice have I gone in & bought something but not gotten the free gift advertised. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal to me but when I spoke to the manager on the phone all she had to say was it's the vendors fault for not sending enough gifts. She told me they had run out of the free gifts earlier in the week but when asked why didn't she see to the signs being taken down she blamed it on someone else. I'm sorry but this is not how a supervisor/manager should run a store. I know this isn't Ulta as a company but the management here needs new training. read more

I went in to get my hair colored as a walk in. I showed the stylist a few photos, and got an estimate of how much it would be. She told me she'd likely have to do a full set of highlights which on the board it was listed at $99 and then said there'd maybe be some extra cost for extra highlights, which was fine with me. I asked if I should plan on about $150 roughly and she said yes. I showed her one specific picture a few times, which was a big change for me, so I was a bit nervous. She then grabbed a chart and asked me what picture jumped out to me the most, so I picked 2, and said mainly one that I guess was a face framing set of highlights. When I asked her after she started foiling, how much was going to be colored on top, she said she wasn't doing that, she was just doing more of the face framing highlights. I told her I was worried it wasn't going to be as much as I wanted and I had my friend with me and expressed the same to her. I think I got a total of 6-10 foils put in my hair and she stuck me in the dryer. She washed my hair and I opted to wait and see it after she styled it because she told me I was going to love it and made it seem like it was going to be this gorgeous, drastic change. Before we started she had said she saw breakage in the back and explained it was because I don't cut my hair often enough so she wanted to trim it, which was fine. After the wash and trim; she blew out half of it and curled it, without asking me if I wanted it curled... She told the other gal she was doing bombshell curls for me, which I noticed was listed at an extra $55 on the board. Once she turned me around I really didn't see a huge difference. I mentioned again what if I don't think it's enough and she told me to wait a few days and come back if I didn't think it was enough, she'd add more on the house. I was in the middle of traveling so I was leaving Thursday early AM and it was Saturday night, she was booked Sunday and Monday off Tuesday and booked Wednesday. The next day I got ahold of her saying I liked my hair but I didn't love it and asked about her availability. She asked me to show her a picture of exactly what I wanted, which I had already done that the day before.... But then said it would be more for product but there would be no service charge. I said that was fine to let me know her schedule since I was leaving soon and she didn't contact me until Monday evening saying how full sh was until Thursday at 4pm. After spending $130 (for 6-10 highlights, a trim, a blow dry, and 'bombshell curls') I was pretty upset. I've never had my hair professionally colored before so I wasn't expecting $130 for something that didn't look very different from my hair already. I ended up going to another stylist at LaBella in town and getting what I asked the first stylist for for under $100. As the LaBella stylist was sectioning out my hair, she noticed I had several "cheetah spots" where the girl at Ulta had dropped or splashed some random color. With being busy getting ready to travel I had been wearing my hair in a ponytail or it had been curled Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings. Wednesday night while brushing it out straight, I noticed that my hair is uneven. I have a choppy trim job on the left side and it's about a half inch shorter, and noticeable than my right side. I am super disappointed that the stylist decided what I was going to have and gave me the "excuses" of how much less maintenance it'd be and how I was going to love it because I seemed nervous. She said she dealt with women everyday and she "knows" them, and said I could come back but made very little effort to make me completely happy. On top of that, she offered me some shampoo and conditioner which I purchased, but she suggested a conditioner (sterling silver) that she told me I should use every time I wish along with the shampoo... The conditioner is a purple conditioner to use 1-2 times a week. As someone who is a "professional" in the hair business, I'd expect a little more knowledge. I'm highly disappointed with my trip, and I felt the stylist was too casual and relaxed to take my wants serious. Just because I seemed nervous about a hairstyle change, doesn't mean she should decide what I should get. Definitely not worth the $130 I had to spend... Absolutely not happy with Ulta at all. read more

I was excited to see a store open up in Waco that carried high end cosmetics. I eagerly went to this store soon after it opened. I was shocked at how many products were out of stock. The store also seems kind of messy. Samples all disheveled looking. The employees are ridiculously unhelpful and downright rude if you have any questions. Trust me, you have to chase them down to ask them anything. I am used to Sephora's knowledgable, upbeat, helpful service. I would not waste my time or money here. Especially since there is now a Sephora just down the road. read more

I absolutely love the salon at this Ulta. All of the stylists are kind and helpful. They want you to feel as comfortable as possible. My stylist, Casey, is fabulous! She will help you find a style and color that fits your personality and looks to a T. If your hair is unhealthy, she will offer suggestions to help bring life back to your hair. She makes the experience wonderful. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. Worried you'll forget your appointment? No worries! They'll call you to check in and remind you a day or two before. I love this store, the staff is always very helpful and patient. I usually have a lot of things I want to see on my list and they always help me find the things I need. I have used the salon too. The stylist was very kind and took the time to ask me what I wanted and explained how to maintain the color. They all seem like they love their job and enjoy working together. I was surprised by the quality of service as well. It was a very good color and cut. I will be back, and I hope others find out that Ulta is a great place to shop and have their hair done. read more

I go to Raven every time I want to do something to my hair. She is the absolute best in Waco, she went above and beyond. She took my idea, and made it into something that would frame my face nicely. She gave me great tips on how to care for it, as well as how to style it. I was her last appointment of the day, and she also helped me pick out some items of makeup that I was talking about while in the chair. She is absolutely the most amazing hair stylist that I know. Waco, TX Ulta On September 6, I was paying for my hair cut (Casey, who is absolutely the best hairdresser anywhere) and the cashier told me to run my card a second time because it did not register. When we received our bank account, Ulta had received TWO payments for One haircut. I have gone to the store twice: 1st visit -Regina (manager) blamed my bank; 2nd visit-Trent (general manager) did not care and just gave me the customer service number. To make a long course of action short, I have spoken to tellers, their supervisors, and then their supervisors. I have received "you will receive a check in the mail in 3 or 4 days, 5 to 7 days, then in two weeks (promised twice). I have NEVER received compensation from ULTA. They have done NOTHING but lied, deceived, and given me the run-around. I have asked them to be up-front but this is a crooked business. They have treated me worse than any business AND allows clerks to steal money from their customers and lie to me over the phone giving me the run-around. When I came into their store and told them a clerk stole my money, the manager (Regina) and then the general manager (Trent Overstreet) should have cared enough to listen that one of their clerks stole money from a customer and IMMEDIATELY given me credit on my cash card. How SHAMEFUL that a company would allow an Ulta employee to steal from an elderly customer and NOT return to that customer the money that was stolen from them. UNACCEPTABLE and HORRIFIC CROOKED BUSINESS. read more

The same girl has tried to overcharge me 3 times and refused to even indulge the fact that she could be wrong and was very very rude (note for owner she worked register 1 on 11/21/18) the night manager also refused to apologize even though she was wrong. I can never get anyone to wait on me or ask me if I need help finding a product when I clearly do. If I can get someone's attention they are very rude bc I had to break up a conversation between them and a coworker. I asked to be matched with a foundation and the woman automatically went to the most expensive foundations in the store those which I knew would not be light enough for me, would not even attempt to match me with an Ulta foundation or one out of their "drugstore" section, she eventually gave up and suggested I buy a $55 foundation and just get a spray tan. The only reason this even gets 3 stars is because the girls in the hair salon are absolutely delightful and always do a great job! I was talked into paying for extra services that i didn't need. I wanted a single color but ended up with a reverse ombre' effect. The roots of my hair were significantly lighter than the ends of my hair. This would have been fine, but after I got home and upon further inspection, my stylist missed areas around my temples and hair line right above my forehead. She also missed patches of hair on the back of my head. I mean...there is still gray there. Luckily, its in areas that are hidden just b/c of where it they are at...But I paid over $200 for an amateur job. I also paid $35 for a gel manicure. They literally started to peel the very next day. All together, they only lasted 3 days before I removed them myself. This was a mistake from start to finish. Maybe there are other stylists that are employed there that are better. Okay so I love Ulta until a couple weeks ago. I go in there play with new makeup and just see what I may want to try. Now I have this feeling of being singled out because I'm black or something because every time I go in there this red haired middle aged woman always ask me do I need help which is fine until I felt like I was being harassed. Then I'd see her talk to other employees and I sh!t you not last time I was there I was asked by 5 other employees did I need help in a row. The last one to ask if I needed help I asked her why is everyone asking only me if I need help because it's getting weird and makes me feel like I'm being watched. I've never stole anything from this place the only thing I'm guilty of is going to the prestigious section and swatching foundations. Either way I'm still going in there they can leave me alone. I'm just gonna put on my headphones and play with as many stuff as I want. If your reading this red head lady stop being racist and hire black people so when I get asked if I need help someone with my skin tone can actually help. Ugh first world problems read more
