She took her time to wipe my cheek and match me up with the perfect foundation.. What an Easter Sunday here at Whittier blvd Ulta! I get it's a religious holiday and you might want to hang with family. You should've called out. Every single employee is rude from the shimmery shinning guy that was too lazy to get double check storage for a shade to the employees standing around. This ulta used to be good but within the last year they're out of so many products all the time, employees are just standing around talking instead of filling up the testers. Now that they don't have as many testers I'll go to Sephora. Also 'm incredibly disappointed with my experience at this Ulta location. Aside from the ongoing issues mentioned in other reviews -- always being out of stock on products, no makeup samples or testers available -- what I witnessed today, January 31st, was completely unacceptable and frankly heartbreaking. An ELDERLY WOMAN in a WHEELCHAIR who didn't really know how to use her phone (!!!) was trying to resolve a payment issue (I think that's what it was), visibly upset and struggling. Instead of stepping up to assist her, the employees told HER to make the call to Ulta's customer service. They continued helping other customers while this poor woman, who clearly needed extra assistance, was left to navigate the situation on her own. IT WAS SO SAD. This behavior is inexcusable. No elder should be treated this way. Compassion and basic customer service should have dictated that the staff handle the call for her and prioritize her needs. Watching her be disregarded and made to fend for herself was genuinely upsetting. NO ELDER DESERVES THIS TREATMENT. Ulta, you need to do better. Your employees must be trained to recognize when a customer, especially a vulnerable one, needs hands-on support. This was beyond disappointing -- it was disgraceful. Please address this. Today 1/09/26, I went to this ulta at around 10:40am, to purchase 3 items. I was not helped on the floor which was not at all the issue as I prefer to shop independently. My issue was with an assistant manager. Redish hair, glasses, bad/passive aggressive attitude. I was smelling perfumes. And decided I wanted the Burberry goddess parfum. Since it was locked I asked her to grab the regular goddess scent for me. She unlocked it, snatched it quickly, gripping it so I couldn't see it, and refused to let me hold the item when I told her I was walking over to pay. I worked retail for 3 years. I understand by her saying she'll hold an item for me at the register she thought I was going to steal it. Please check my transaction history, I don't steal. The cashier was super sweet. I walked over immediately after, because as I said I was walking over to pay, and asked the cashier for the perfume. She brings it out and it was the wrong one. I was like oh I'm sorry I asked for the regular one (because there's a light one, regular one, then intense). The cashier goes to the assistant manager who was a couple yards away, and explains how she grabbed the wrong one. The manager goes "what ?! She asked for the regular one that is the regular one. The other one is intense!" And I'm just dumbfounded at this point. Like you're a couple feet from the fragrance section? Just switch it out it's not a big deal. And also I can hear you. So unprofessional. Misery likes company though. I kept my cool. I even revisited the Burberry to make sure I asked for the right one. Then her and I went back to the case. And she was trying to just tell me how I was wrong and asked for the wrong one (I did not). No apology on the miscommunication or anything. Disappointed long-time customer unjust service denial!!! I have been a loyal customer of Ulta Beauty in Whittier for many years, and I've always enjoyed the salon services there. So it was very disappointing when I recently had an appointment cancelled by the salon with the explanation that I had two "no-shows" on record. According to what I was told: One alleged no-show was last year 2024 The other was this year 2025 Because of that history, the salon canceled my appointment without notification, I called for an explanation and they said they will no longer accept my appointments. I can only come in as a walk in. Here's the problem: the stated reason is incorrect. I explained to them in one case, the stylist cancelled on me, and she said she would call back to reschedule and she never did! So then I made another appointment. I never intentionally missed an appointment -- and certainly not twice. Their computer system is obviously not working. For a business to policy-cancel a long-standing client's booking based on inaccurate data is unfair and frustrating. I would expect clearer communication if a business keeps a "no-show" record, that should be accurate and the customer should be given a chance to review it. Rather than simply cancelling future service, I wish the salon had reached out, explained the record, and allowed me to either confirm or contest the information. It's extremely disappointing that after years of patronage I now feel like I'm being denied services for reasons that are not true. I hope Ulta Whittier will review their system, correct any errors, and reconsider how they treat loyal clients when there's a misunderstanding. Bottom line: If you value a business relationship, it's important that record-keeping is transparent and staff address issues respectfully. My experience here has shaken my confidence in this location's salon management. I will no longer be returning here unprofessional. Went in for beauty products, seconds later felt like I was auditioning for a full on soap opera fainting with such ease an actress would probably find such scene difficult to recreate. I don't remember much from my brief vacation on the floor but what I do remember was the ulta staff helping me and the manager Denise rushing to me. She was the calm in the chaos while I was clearly glitching like a phone with no storage. There was no hint of panic, no hint of judgement or inconvenience, just "you're safe energy" from her. Huge thank you to her for turning an embarrassing medical moment of mine into something not to feel embarrassed about and showing her concern for me. Pay her more, promote her, let her cut the ribbon at the new stores, she helped me out in my time of crisis and now I'm only medium traumatized. I only say medium because yes it still indeed is pretty traumatizing fainting in front of the beauty store I go to. Ten out of ten don't recommend fainting but hey if it happens here at least you know you'll be tended to. read more

I usually don't frequent shops like Ulta . Went in to purchase a gift card. I was asked if I wanted to sign up for their rewards program. I explained I do not shop here , so I would not be interested. She insisted two more times I politely said: "No" Finally she said that she needed my phone number in case something went wrong with the gift card. Really?!? Give me a receipt - the receipt will show my purchase. Anyways it was exhausting..... I understand they probably work on commission and need to get phone numbers for marketing, But don't make shit up. After the last "NO!' the cashier gave me an attitude. I stopped in the Whittier location today to make an exchange. The exchange was handled with ease. The cashier was Camille. The reason for not giving 3 starts is because Camille did not inform me I had reward points that are expiring this month. I asked her to check my points but she finalized the sale at the same moment. She looked at me and said you have $6.00 you can use next time. I should have been offered to use them this time. In the past the cashiers have always been great about pointing out that I have accumulated points that can be used. I guess Ulta has changed their policy and it is up to the customer to remember this now. I don't shop Ulta frequently and I can purchase all the products elsewhere or on-line. This has been a long time coming - I have been meaning to write a review for my first salon experience. I booked with Jen who did a color correction and she knows her craft!!! I finally feel like myself again after years of just feeling unsatisfied with my hair done by private salons (not Ulta) the Salon at Ulta is so underrated! It's amazing!! the chair equipment and shampoo bowl are so comfortable and that's helpful for someone like me who has sciatica. I love the openness and it's not stuffy in there like regular salons. The environment is separate from the store and I love that. Also the staff were in great spirits and everyone got along I love to see that!! I haven't cut my hair in about 4.5 years, decided to Go to Ulta in whittier, to get a hair cut and bayloge(don't know if I spelled it right) well I thought My hair was going to get the best since Tamar was the salon manager and the only master/elite stylist! I was suppose to lay 285, but I had a 20% coupon, so it came out to be 235. With out tip. My hair cut is horrible! My layers suck! And I asked for volume and I have NONE!! I HATE IT! I've had descent experiences here in the past but they're mask nazis and not letting you come in without a mask completely over your nose. I was yelled at by a cashier as soon as I walked in, in front of all the customers in line and later asked behind plexiglass and a mask that I needed to pull mine higher up to cover more of my nose.
