It was my first time in the store, so I did not know where anything was at. I was walking around trying to find what I was looking for (there was no employees available for help), and the security guard kept following me around! He kept noticeably staring at me and it made me feel uncomfortable. I needed help, so I went to the counter and finally received help. The girls were very nice and helpful. Today I decided to do a curbside pickup, since the security guard made me feel so uncomfortable the first time. Well I parked my car in the curbside pick up spot, and the security guard was literally staring at me thru the window!! What is wrong with that guy?? Best customer service I've ever received. Return some items, because I decided I wanted something different. Crystal (hope I'm spelling her name right) helped me and she was extremely knowledgeable about products, listened to what I needed and wanted, and achieved that look for me. She is amazing. She was patient and not in a rush to just give me something and move on to the next person. They needed her up front, but she waited till she was done helping me to them help with other customers. So I had to come here and leave a review for the service I got last week. I came in an hour before closing and asked the workers if someone could help me in the dermatology area cuz I was in desperate need of new products. A girl named Naieyela ( I'm pretty sure I spelled it wrong) but she came to my rescue! She took her time and showed me around all the products. She listened to my concerns and what I wanted and made suggestions accordingly. She was very knowledgeable about the products I was surprised. Glad to finally go to a cosmetics store and get an employee who knows what they're talking about. So after one night of using the products my face cleared up and has just been getting better and better and I owe it all to her! Thank you Thank you I will be back because of this young woman. I'm going to start by saying that I've been to the location a couple of times before my negative review and customer service had always been lacking. However, they have always been extremely busy so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. After yesterday, however, I realize that they just don't have good customer service because it was a slow day and the store didn't have very many customers. So here's the story...my daughter is starting 7th grade and she had an amazing year. I wanted to reward her by getting her some start up makeup. I told her to bring a picture of the look she wanted to recreate and that they could help us at Ulta. She was super excited for the experience. We showed up and the store was practically empty except for the various employees at the cashier. A few were on their phones texting/scrolling. Not one of the employees greeted us when we came in....okay maybe they are busy. We walked around for awhile and only saw one girl on the floor who passed us but looked annoyed. She didn't try to make eye contact with us and I was desperately trying to make eye contact with anyone to signal that we needed some help. After some time I told my daughter put down your things, we are leaving. She was so upset because I promised her makeup. I told her that we will not be giving our business to a location that doesn't have good customer service. We left and went across the street to the Sephora is JCPenny. At Sephora, we immediately were greeted with a hello and let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I proceeded to spend $300 at Sephora and open up a credit card. Good service = here is my money. The lesson of this story is that the Whittier Ulta location was only successful in getting me to spend my money elsewhere. read more

I went into this Ultra hopping for an amazing experience and I received the opposite. Not sure if it was the manager on site or a regular associate, she has very short blond hair was very rude and tried to rush me out of the store. She had a very bad attitude while she in int up the customers she didn't even ask if we wanted to use our points or anything . Super rude! I will be shopping at other ULTRA stores. Today is the Grand Opening for Ulta in Whittier, Ca! They had giveaways and coupons. Vendors were out and had sample giveaways which was amazing! Who turns down beauty samples? No one! The store is a new concept. Lower gondolas. And higher concept salon and Dermologica pods. The everything is white and it looks super chic with Clinique and Estee Lauder counters! My favorite product is Exuviance and the rep was available to talk about the products. He gave me some sample peels. Best peeps in town!!! The staff is friendly given that ALL of Whittier is out and about. Definitely worth the visit and worth the friendly smiles. read more

I keep looking at my hair every day and asking myself: is this the worst haircut I've ever had? Each morning I find new issues with it. It's drastically uneven. It's choppy. It's really bad. The only silver lining is that when I curl it and style it, all the mistakes are hidden, but yeah, I definitely think this is my worst cut ever. I was pleasantly surprised when a young man approached he and asked if he could help me. I always shop at Sephora and ulta. I love the company in general and I do work at Sephora. I was in the neighborhood with my bestie and we decided to go to this store in particular. Big mistake, huge. God forbid you are a shade any darker then porcelain, then the guard will block the door when I was looking at the stuff on display in the front. I had my coach purse on, not that it should matter. But just stating that I was dressed up so it wasn't because I look "shady". Then the two cashiers who I really don't even care to know their names kept giving me a dirty look and when I went to pay they looked disgusted at the fact that I, a Hispanic walk into their store. I did the survey a little while ago, however I just thought I would let any other women who are non Caucasian to steer clear bc you will be treated like a criminal. 0 stars if I could. Was not greeted and there was a 7 person line with one cashier for a good 10-15 minutes. I asked a question about when the free birthday item would be available for someone who signed up, who was next to me, and with no sympathy or remorse an employee said it was next year. (The Birthday was this past week). I've received my birthday coupon within a month after signing up (I explained details with employees and the similarities between the two cases.) I have had bad customer experiences before with employees of beauty shops so I always greet them with an insane amount of friendliness and gratification for their help to make sure it was not my fault for any attitude mishaps. The extent of this post is showing a composed customers thoughts. As far as the employees were aware, I had no attitude problem or any frustration at all. If an employee tries to get you to sign up for an ulta rewards program because your birthday is coming up, do not sign up for it expecting the free little gift. There's a good chance the email with the code for your gift will come in late and an employee might say something contradicting i.e. you'll have to wait for your next birthday... next year. read more

BEST ULTA EVER. And let me tell you why. So in January, Ulta was having this event 1-22 where particular items were 50% off on each day. I had my eye on January 15th's item which was the shisedo eye cream. It is regularly 62 and was on sale for 31. That whole Saturday on the 15th, I kept reminding myself I needed to go but kept forgetting. At the end of the night, literally at 7:50, it dawned on me I forgot to get it. I called the Ulta near my house and they were sold out. I called the Whittier one which was near the gym I was at and they picked up and told me they had it. However it was now 7:54. I asked the girl if they could please accommodate me and she asked her manager if I could come and get it and he said yes. I was ELATED. I left the gym at 8 and they stayed open for me until 8:15. I used to work in retail and I know stores would never do that. Especially not cosmetic stores!(former sephora employee) ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY on a Saturday night! I was so appreciative and still am. I use that cream every day and I've seen a significant difference in my lines and I would not have bought it full price lol. Thank you Ulta Whittier for being so kind. I came all the way over here because everybody on TikTok said Ulta carries The Ordinary. You can just order it on Sephora's site but they do not have it in stores. Ulta carries The Ordinary in their stores. LIE!! First I went to the Orange Ulta, but they were closed due to Covid. So I came to Whittier. This one was open, but they told me NONE of their stores carry The Ordinary except two, neither of which is nearby. I would have to order it on their website. BOOOO! I was SO pissed. I looked around and was hoping to at least score some Catrice, but they do not carry that, either. UGHHHH. Oh, also their bathroom is closed due to Covid. I'm not THAT into make up, but have been starting to explore. I was pretty excited to check out the new location! I have been two times now and have never seen such poor customer service. The first time I went, I was so lost and didn't know where to look(most likely looked lost as well). There were hardly any customers in the store and all the staff was standing next to me talking and never. Ordered to ask if I needed assistance. I finally asked and they were no help. The second time I visited was similar to my first experience. Came in wanting to ask questions about a product I was looking for(could not find it) and there were workers right next to me chatting away and never greeted me.
