Every time I walk into this ulta I get zero help from the workers, even when there's no one really in the store. To be quite honest all the workers seem disinterested in what they're doing and overall lazy. 75% of the time I have to ask for help and there was only one time I felt that one of the workers was trying to help me. I needed to pick up a couple things from the store and do a little browsing through the store. Me and 3 of my friends went in and immediately after walking in their security gaurd followed us out of everyone In the store. He was always at least 10 feet away or in the next aisle to the one we were in. Yes we are somewhat young as I am a young adult but I have never stolen anything from any store and I have a job where I can perfectly pay for everything which I did. He stopped following us once we went to pay and noticed after when we were sitting in the car right outside that he went back to standing in the front of the store and not following anyone else as they shopped. I felt very uncomfortable and do not appreciate him profiling us just because we are younger. read more

I was really excited when I heard a location in Whittier would be opening...then I visited this location. I am no longer excited in any way due to the very poor customer service. I visited last Friday for a product I normally purchase at Ulta. I've been to many locations and have always been able to locate it, but was unable to here. No one..and I mean not one of the employees even asked if I needed assistance at any time. I finally asked and employee and she walked to the aisle, took a quick look, said I don't think we carry it, and walked away. Since I had previously walked around in search for the item myself, I had picked up a few other items to purchase. I made my way to the register and there was a long line...one open register...and all the other employees were standing around talking to each other in other areas of the store. I finally got up to the register, paid, and decided to ask Marisa, the cashier ringing me up. I figured she would be able to look it up, but she asked someone in her headset instead. The person stated that they do have the product, so Marisa stated she would help me look for the item and would meet me down the aisle as soon as she assisted the next customer (there was only one person in line behind me and hardly anyone else in the store by this point). I returned to the aisle and waited...and waited...and waited.....and waited (over 20 mins). I stood at the edge of the aisle and every single employee just passed me by without even bothering to ask if I needed assistance...again! All the while, I guess Marisa just forgot about me the moment I was out of her sight because she was helping an entirely different customer. Now, I'm a very patient person. I waited until she was done...only to see her start talking to a fellow employee and just stand around. I made eye contact with her..she looked at me...and just turned away. So, I finally walked up to her to ask if she was still going to assist me. She said yes and finally started to come toward the aisle only to stop and help someone else. Apparently, she started to assist an entirely different person who came in after me (I know because I saw them walk in). She looked quickly (just like the last person) and said we must not have any. I requested her to check her system or if she was able to check another store. She did neither. Another employee in the register area said we can try calling another store. She then asked in a very condescending manner "do you want me to call other stores?" I told her yes...she tried two stores, said they weren't answering, and my only option was to drive to check the other stores out. I asked her again, if she could check another stores inventory. By this point, a third employee was in the register area and she interjected (with a high level of attitude) that they were not allowed to do any of that and I could drive to another location. I have no idea what her name was but she was very unprofessional with her manner of speaking to customers. I am very capable of understanding if an item is out of stock, but it is ridiculous that they don't attempt to check their own inventory when you've told them you don't see it to ensure they are looking for something that is in the store. Plus, they could have stated from the beginning...we don't have the ability to check another stores inventory. There is no communication to customers here, they act like it's an inconvenience that you are in the store, and do everything to avoid the customers seeking help. Everyone working that Friday evening was horrible. You'd think they would be trying harder to establish a presence with this being a new location. I will never visit this location again after this horrible experience. It went as far as to almost deter me from Ulta altogether. I just hope the next location I visit knows how to treat customers. I would suggest you avoid the Whittier Ulta at all costs as they are unhelpful and rude! read more

Just had a phenomenal experience with Linda at the Ulta Salon! Came in with a vision and she made it happen. I am so incredibly happy with my new hair. Cut about 10 inches off and I am in love! But part of my delayed gratification mantra, I waited until today to visit because I am not into crowds. Not sure if it's because it's new but it's fully stocked and get this...they carry Estée Lauder! Hurray for double wear foundation! I actually went for a cleanser and the girl that helped me recommended dermalogica and girls...(and boys!) that shit is amazing! Yea it's pricey but whatever. They also have these dermalogica "pods" where you can get facials. They have a nice salon area as well so it's basically a one stop shop to be beautiful. I wonder if they do Botox...jay kay. I didn't browse too much cause I had a whinny 10 year old with me but from what I could tell, it was well stocked, super clean, and everyone was really nice to me even though I looked like shit. I went to this location to buy some candles for a late Christmas presents. I stayed and looked through all the selection that they had. It was posted on the front of the display- 50% off all Ulta candles and soaps. So I grabbed soap to go with the candles. When I went to pay for my purchase- the girl at the front rang me up for $63. I told her that was incorrect. I had 3 candles and 3 soaps. With the 50% off my total should have been in the area of $45. Soaps were reg. price $7. A male employee went to check and stated that the display stated that price. That it needed to be honored. The young woman called a manager to help her and she did. My total went from $63 to $61 after the manager came!! Terrible service and horrible employees!! I will never enter another Ulta store because of my horrible experience here. read more

Unfortunately, my recent visit to this Whittier location was not what I was expecting. When I first walk-in no employee greeted me like they normally would. I almost took it personal bc I felt unnoticed due to no Make-Up day. Or bc I'm Latina perhaps bc when a different ethnic girl walked in she happened to be greeted immediately! I've always ordered merchandise from Ulta online so having a store so close to where I live is heaven. They have absolutely everything unlike the Sephora located in our local JC Penney. The customer service was awesome as well. The only improvement I would suggest is to have tissues available so customers can wipe tested products off their hands. read more

ULTA Beauty on Imperial Hwy. in La Habra CA....worst customer service ever. Today, 7/18/23 at about 4:45 there was only one item left on the shelf of what I was shopping for. I could not find anyone to ask if there were more available. I seen this women with pigtails walk by but she didn't make eye contact so I did not think she worked there. I went to the cashier and asked if there was someone who could help me and she pointed at the women who walked by me earlier. The cashier told me that she was the manager. This manager was at the table by all the make up looking at her phone. She started to walk the opposite direction when I tried to get her attention. The store was empty...only a few customers. She looked in a drawer and said there were no more. She didn't offer any information of when more would be arriving or anything. I also told her I was in the day before and purchased 2 KVD eyeliners and they were both dried out. She didn't say anything. Rude and just didn't care how her store was doing!!! It doesn't say much of the store when the manager has no customer service skills. I will now drive further from my home to go to Sephora. read more

This place has turned me on to a few men's colognes which are now staples in my collection: Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme, Armani Code, and Coach For Men. Amazing! My fiancee also gets her hair done here sometimes, as they often have last-minute availability when other salons nearer to our home in Norwalk are all booked up, and they manage to get her colored and cut in a fairly reasonable amount of time compared to other salons. read more

I am really trying to like this location....so far not so good. I was waxed there the first weekend they were open. Never got the impression anyone new what they were doing. Almost like they weren't ready for it to be opened. I stopped by there yesterday to make another waxing appointment. Benefit girl was not going to be in today so they made my appointment with the esthetion( I don't think she has ever waxed before) ....Very nice/sweet lady but after she waxed she put more wax over what she already waxed and not I have skin off above my lip. They had my appointment time wrong, I had to wait 20 minutes...just a disaster. I truly hope things get better here...I guess I will be driving to another city to be waxed. Personally, I avoid beauty stores. The employees are usually snotty and it reeks of judgement. BUT, today I had to get a few items that I was unsure about so I decided to go in and get some advice. Let me tell you, I am SO GLAD I did! Megan is amazing. She is so sweet, and helpful and patient and just oozes goodness! She wouldn't accept my tip, although she deserved it! (I'll get her next time) if you need assistance without judgement, please go to Megan. You won't regret it! I also got my haircut today by Michi. And wow! Immediately felt comfortable. She is the sweetest person alive and her fun and patient personality is a rare find. She had some tough clients before me that ended up pushing back my appointment just a few minutes and she was so apologetic. I've never had any services done here, I've just shopped, and that's the basis of my review. I was excited when they opened this location, because the La Habra store is awful; it's dirty and the employees have no sense of service. Turns out, those traits are ULTA brand trademarks and the Whittier location is just as bad - if not worse; the La Habra location doesn't have a security guard monitoring it's sales floor (just saying). So similar to other locations, the staff is entitled and vapid; for making minimum wage, their noses manage to make it a long way into the air. I was there the other day and one of the sales girls was putting her makeup on at the benefit counter (smack dab in the front of the store) and completely ignoring customers. An elderly woman was looking for help and I had to go up to the sales girl and notify her that woman was asking for help, then she spins around and says "what woman?" Really?! C'mon honey, do your job, it's literally so easy. Yesterday I was shopping and couldn't find ANYONE to do a stock check, so I asked about the item when I got to the register. The cashier walkied her little buddy in the back of the store to do stock check, she found the item, and the girl brought it up to the front. Well you would have thought I had asked this chick to give me a kidney, by the look she gave me when she set my hair dryer down on the counter. How dare I inconvenience her by doing her job and making her walk all the way up to the front of the store. I'm such a terrible person (let's all laugh). Those are just two recent examples of experiences I've had at this location; but Whittier will never fail me in the opportunity to interact with underpaid snobs, feeling like an extra in Mean Girls, or possibly ending up on an episode of Cops. :) read more

Let's face it, service here sucks! Their website will say that they have a certain item but when you go to the actual store they don't even carry it. And the store is always so messy all the samples and testers are everywhere and it's really hard to locate items, it's so frustrating when you see the girls who work there just standing around doing nothing when the store looks messy and they don't even offer to help in anyway. You get to the register they are usually. Hating with their coworkers and don't even acknowledge you. To top it off, you can't even walk in to get your birthday gift. You have to wait to receive it in your email...every time I come here I miss Sephora but unfortunately Ulta is closer to me than Sephora. I will however start driving to Sephora for a more enjoyable experience, better service and an organized store. 10/6/18 update Came in today and it's worse. One person at register who walks away to show products to another client while there are 10 people on line waiting. I complain and she just says it's just me so 1. My browsing was pleasant and sales reps did ask if "I was finding everything ok?" but didn't hover. I went to ultra to buy a three pack of mascara by Benefit for $36 which I saw in the flyer today. It was a very good price for three $25 ea mascaras. I asked one of the female workers about the sale and she said she never heard of the sale and if so they didn't have it at that store. I asked if they had the magazine and she said no and the benefit person was helping someone with makeup...ask her. (Little bitch!) so I asked Cody and he immediately checked for me and I asked him if he had a magazine, he said yes and we found the sale. They didn't have it at the store but he ordered it for me.
