Don't let the lack of reviews fool you, this place is amazing! My car was running like crap and making a bunch of loud noises that made me believe I was going to be in for a $600 bill at the end of the day. To my surprise and excitement I picked up my car and paid less than $200 for an oil change, new wipers, belt adjustment and a complete cleaning and reset of my rear brakes. My car runs and stops better than it has in a long time. Thank you guys for a job very well done. You can count on me coming back. Actually I will be in this Friday with my wife's car!! read more

Yesterday I dropped my crv off because the maintenance required light came on. I only asked that they not do an oil change as my husband does that for me. Upon hearing this the man helping me at the counter went off... "Well then what are we supposed to do? The light came on because you need an oil change! What do you want us to do?" Now I'm not going to pretend I know anything about cars but I'm asking myself, aren't there a number of reasons why this light would come on? I ask him. "Are you sure it can't be anything else? It's definitely an oil change?" "I've only been doing this 56 years! It's gonna be an oil change." So I ask him if he even wants to look at it because I'm just not sold that it's an oil change. This light has never come on before. I'm just worried that it could be something worse. It's an old car. He begrudgingly agrees to look at it. I don't know what his deal is but I'm not feeling good about this experience. I leave the car but have already decided I'm not going to be taking my car there again. I ordinarily take my car to the Goodyear across the street where I have been treated well and have had no issues. So I pick it up and he tells me he turned the maintenance required light off for me. So they didn't look at it at all? I guess. Flash forward to today I'm sitting on a curb waiting for AAA because my car won't start. Turns out it was the battery. read more

These people are the absolute worst! Very deceitful and dishonest.. Took my car in to get a wire fixed that goes to the fan on my AC system and got my car returned to me with a broken interior light and I was told it was a blown light but upon an inspection I discovered it was broken!!!! And not only that they left a utility knife on the top of my car and as I drove away it rolled over the roof of my car across my windshield and into traffic almost causing an accident.. when I told the person in charge about it they disregarded the magnitude of what I was telling them and chose to ignore me and act like it wasn't a big deal.. I had wondered why for no reason he kept saying oh that they did not make parts for my car when it was irrelevant to anything that I took my car in for and it was because the jerk broke my light and didn't have the balls to tell me about it and try to say it was a blown light that had to be replaced when it is clear damage and it's a shame that it's their word against mine.. I So regret bringing my car to that place.. they didn't care because those jerks already got paid!!!! read more

My car was towed in and Mike did a simple re-programming of a computer chip in the ignition key. He charged me $0 and sent me on my way. You couldn't get anyone more honest than that! This is by far the best and most HONEST auto shop EVER! As a single woman I have been going here for years. I have never been over charged. In fact, my first experience a few years ago was when I knew I was a customer for life. The owner told me that the repair would cost as much as the car was worth, and I would be better off to save that $ and get a new car. I was floored. I don't know what happened to this business but in the past 6 months I've had enough negative experiences to write this review and make sure no one I know ever uses them again. I've had 3 cars serviced by them over 10 years and they did good work until they started breaking my stuff and telling me they did things without actually doing them. Today I picked up my car after it sat in their lot for almost 2 weeks. They allowed someone to smoke and eat in my car, leaving behind pasta on my floor and the stink of cigarettes on my seats. The culprit is probably the same person who broke my retractable cargo cover so it no longer functions. 6 months ago they claimed to have performed an inspection on the car and found nothing wrong with it. Which is crazy because I brought it in to find out what the noise I was hearing was. I ended up diagnosing the problem myself and brought it back so they could look at it again and all of a sudden they have a long list of stuff that's wrong with it. They also didn't call me once over the last 2 weeks to give me an update on the car. So did they ever actually look at it. No idea. They claimed they did an oil change but didn't replace the sticker on the windshield so who's to say. I will not be using them again and you would be wise to not bring your vehicle here. read more

My wife has many friends that have used Jim McBrides Ultimate Auto Service and have raved about the quality and customer service he provides. Today I experienced it first hand. My car had been acting up but I was not in any hurry to take it to some unknown mechanic and get fleeced. Today my procrastination caused me to miss a day of work because the car would not start. I have done my own repairs over the years. As a kid I was a Chevy guy. Rebuilt my first engine at 17 and it fired up at the turn of the key. I finally managed to get it running and decided to give the place my wife mentioned a try. People say first impressions are everything. My first impression was that this place was impressive. Two banks of garages, all clean as a whistle. I met Jim and immediately had a sense that he knew what he was talking about. Went to get my cars tires rotated and brake pads replaced because it was making a scratching sound when I would brake I was in and out in about an hour and a half. My brake pads didn't even need to be replaced just a little oil. I appreciate the honesty. Will recommend and be back for any service I need in the future. read more

Ultimate Auto is the most honest shop in South Florida. I went to Braman Honda because my trunk wouldnt open on a 2006 civic coupe, and Braman took apart my backseat, told me my trunk latch and cable were broken and left the whole backseat in shambles because they said they had to order the part in and didnt want to take the seat apart again. I brought my car over to Ultiamte Auto where I usually get service done and they fixed my trunk within 5 minutes and put my car back together as a favor. I went back to Braman and demanded my money back. Ultimate does amazing work and they are honest about repairs. read more

I stopped by this place on a holiday for an oil change and to have my check engine light read. They were busy and closing soon, but they still took my car in. 30 minutes later my car had its oil changed and they fixed the issue causing the check engine light to come on. Took my '67 Camaro in for a pinion seal leak. I don't take this car to just any shop. These guys fixed it on the first try! Another shop was on its 6th try, and I finally told them to forget it. Ultimate Auto also charged less for the work than the other shop as well. Very friendly and honest people. Its nice that they are just around the corner from my house to help me with a couple of things that I can't get myself. read more

Sometimes no matter how hard you try and avoid giving a negative review about a merchant or service provider you can't. This is one of those times that so many bad things have happened, you know now you will never use them again because what you might have thought was a fluke, now appears to a pattern. Car-2007 BMW 550I Very nice folks, but sorry that is not enough. Standing behind your work, not making simple mistakes, following specific instructions, and yes, even standing behind those you recommend is part of it as well. Item 1. Replaced Alternator but they accidently disconnected the radiator thermostat and as a result engine overheated, thankfully, I stopped and did not continue driving. They admitted to they missed it. Permanent damage unknown. Item 2. More recently, brought in for noise in front -end. Diagnosed as lower front control arms, upon further research, was told to have them check both upper and lower front, which I did, they said ok. So they replace one of them L&R. As soon as I got back, no change. What was it? The ones they said they checked but obviously did not. Item 3 and maybe not their fault but considering they send a lot of business to this body man Eddie's (who will be reviewed separately) they had the power to force him to do correctly. Replaced and painted rear bumper which while at Ultimate's shop (where he picked it up) was clearly pointed out he needed to replace with a new, used, or even aftermarket bumper that also has the back-up sensors. What did he do? He replaced with one without them and drilled the holes (WAY TO BIG) and fudged it. Yes Ultimate said he did a lousy job but obviously not enough to make him do it right. He took it back and fixed the gaps (I guess with Bondo or whatever). Yes it looks better but it's not right and I know it. So after all this, after pickinjg up the car today. Item 4, I notice my music is not playing, why, because the IPOD connected via the BMW factory IPOD cable is gone, poof! Of course, no one knows why. Update several days later. My new mechanic just called me and informed me Ultimate did not even install the first set of control arms correctly. Fortunately caught in time to only require an $8.00 part. I live in Miami and 2 of my kids live in Palm Beach county. Ultimate has been fixing both of my kids cars for over a year now and iv'e been nothing but satisfied. Mike and Jim always pinpoint the problem then fix it at a fare price. Last week my stepson that lives with me in Miami was having A/C issues. Whenever the car came to a complete stop the engine would cut off from time to time only when the a/c was on. We brought it to a local shop (mistake) they told me a/c was fine and gave me a quote for 20 other issues totaling $2,200. We left the car overnight. The next day they called us and said that there was indeed an a/c compressor issue and wanted an additional $900 for the a/c compressor and labor charge. I was heated. We decided to drive the car all the way from Miami up to Lake Worth to Ultimate Auto Service. Mike and Jim took a look at the car and dismissed 75% of the issues that the miami mechanic wanted to fix and charge us for. And they also repaired the compressor which saved us a considerable amount of money. In total we payed $659 compared to a whopping $3000 bill that we could have payed those crooks in Miami.
