This was my fourth visit in 2 years since my boyfriend likes it- I thought my first visit was a fluke after I got sick but after today and getting sick again I'm pretty sure its a 50% chance once you walk through their doors you'll get sick. We have been in the springs for 3 years before trying UB. I was pleasantly surprised at the taste. It is not a "fine dining establishment" but rather a well stocked all you can eat buffet. While there was a line, they seated us immediately (party of 2). I was very happy with the selection. My favorites were the sushi, coconut shrimp and peanut butter chicken. It's jam-packed and loud. This is totally buffet food and nothing that is going to blow your mind. With that said, it's so busy that the dish turn over is very fast so it's coming out hot and frequently. We closed it down and unfortunately the Chinese donuts were smashed and none were available after the 8:30 cutoff time. But our server was a baller and hooked us up with a fresh round. My family and I go here at lease once a month and for those that didn't have the best experience... I hope you give it another chance. Starting at around 6 or 7 pm, it will start to get pack, no matter what day of the week it is. Friday's have a little bit of a wait time; but we have never waited for a seat longer than 15 minutes. My 2 boys keep occupied looking at their little Koi pond/fountain. The place really is an ultimate buffet from king crab legs (at night), steamed clams, fresh mussels/shrimp, sushi/sashimi, grilled steak/chicken/asparagus to kid friendly food (fries, mac n cheese, pizza, spaghetti, mashed potatoes, popcorn shrimps) to the traditional selection of Chinese foods... it really tries to cater to various customers. Their desserts are the traditional fruit assortment and some cakes, pies, jello, pudding, fruit cobblers to the ice cream machine. We always leave the place very satisfied. The service has been quite well, especially for my husband who hates having an empty cup of water. They are very good at picking up the dirty dishes pretty quickly. My sons have yet to complain about anything they ate at this place. If you are military, we still have some confusion for their 10% discount. When we first started eating at this place, we had military discount any day of the week, then the last couple of times, we were told that it is only on Mondays. However, the last time we went, our waiter had never heard of a discount. We stay at Colorado Springs for about 2 days, so we went ahead and try this Ultimate Buffet on our last day. There was a huge selection of food included Snow Crab, Steak(which was good), bbq shrimp, chicken skewers,...) . All was good and the price was good. I love the Egg Tart dessert. Hands down my favorite Chinese buffet in the Springs. Unlike some of the other buffets in town, it seems like their food doesn't sit as long in the heating trays. It's one of few buffets (unless it's a buffet in Vegas or at the Broadmoor) that I will eat sushi from. I've sworn off almost all buffet sushi ever since I got the most horrible case of food poisoning I've ever had in my life at a Chinese buffet in California (it has since closed). Even though the quality of the fish isn't that good, I can't say "no" to all you can eat fish. The selection is pretty good and there is something for everyone (even spaghetti and meatballs). I am not proud to be writing this review. I like this place, but really only for two reasons...the fried rice noodles and the crab rangoon. I can't honestly tell you why the rice noodles are delicious...its just that I really never see them on the buffet and they are alittle lighter than the standard lo mein. The reason why I like the rangoons is that they are made with crack. Keep one eye on the ktichen and bolt to the buffet as soon as you see the dealers pile the chafing dish high with fresh, piping hot cheese stuffed nuggets of deliciousness. God, I want them now. As for the unimportant details, the buffets also features (or did when I was there last) reasonably edible steak bites, roast asparagus, adequate sushi, average chinese food, ice cream and a sizeable dessert buffet. To be honest, I really ate alot of the fried stuff and I liked the fried shrimp, but the egg rolls are pretty standard. I only go for lunch (I think it's $7.95) and only on days I'm pretty hungry. Was feeling like having Chinese food last night and was meeting a few friends. We have come here before for lunch and dinner so we already knew what to expect. However..... We arrived at 7:30pm and the restaurant was open until 9:00pm. We were taken to our table by the hostess and asked what we wanted to drink. I always get water. Then I walked over to the food bar. Very slim pickings. A lot of the entrée items looked old and stale and had, maybe, serving amounts for one or two. I asked if they were bringing out fresh items and got just a nod of the head. When I went back to see if any new items had been brought out, nope. Several times I have eaten here the food has been good. I think the problem this time was that we got there a little late and by 8:15pm the prep people were already taking the the center island, salad bar, down. And no new/fresh items were coming out from the kitchen. Next time I'll either chose a different place to eat or make sure I get there earlier. read more

This buffet is one of the better ones. I am a Springs native, and I've tried all the ones in tiwn. I like UB because they rotate the food frequently and they don't sacrifice quality. The food is good for being a buffet and the customer service is good. They are usually pretty busy, so best to call ahead! Another thing I like is the fish pond in the front, complete with rubber ducks! If you like sushi they have a decent sushi selection. If the kids don't like Chinese offerings, they also have pizza, Mac and cheese, potato skins. And mashed potatos and gravy. There is something here for everyone and the prices are very reasonable. This buffet is pretty dang good. They keep everything well stocked, and the food is the normal fair you would find at an "Asian" buffet. They've got crab legs, shrimp, soups, some easily made sushi and sashimi, and the usual re-made things like stuffed clams, mushrooms, shrimp kabobs. I mean it's buffet food, so not everything is going to be amazing but you do get what you paid for. You will not go home hungry, and you will be satisfied! I also really like the staff here, and it's run very well. Today was a super high traffic day (Christmas!) and they were busting out fresh food left and right, all the while making sure we had everything we needed without skipping a beat. Leave these folks a nice tip. - My only complaint is that I know for a fact that their salad mushrooms are not washed, or at least washed thoroughly. Those aren't something you should skimp on as they grow in manure, and it's really obvious when you don't clean them. It's straight up manure in your salad, think about that. So I'd steer clear of those. Hopefully someone sees this and takes heed, because that's a pretty big deal. It also worries me about the cleanliness of the other veggies if you consider pesticides and everything that comes with unwashed produce. Either way, good place. read more

There are few times when I will venture to a Chinese buffet but I do on occasion as we all have. This place is definitely a personal favorite. I love the location, the fish fountain, and last but certainly not least, the chicken on a stick (their name not mine lol.) I must also add that the cobbler with vanilla ice cream was to die for! Mmmm. There is definitely some very "non Chinese" options but hey, nobody every complained about pizza or french fries. Over the past two years this place has really gone down hill. The food is bland, it's always messy, and it's been a huge disappointment the last 4 times I've been (I really was hoping the bad days were off days but they're just regular days). They changed the rice noodles in the mei fun to spaghetti noodles (totally changes the flavor of the meal) they took out cheese mussels and put in the worst spinach concoction smothered in cheese. I love cheese but even that doesn't help the spinach. Most of the food is pretty bland. The sweet and sour chicken is all bread, no chicken. And somehow I always get seated next to the guy who watches tv on his phone with no headphones. We'll be moving soon, I'll repost if I go again but I highly doubt I will.
