I worked for Emmanuel Ramirez, and unfortunately communication was almost null. The systems would not work properly for me, I let him know various times. I never hid that from him. I am a single mother with a newborn, a 6 year old and an 11 year old and on top of that I have kidney failure. I am at the point of falling into a deep depression just because of a payment that Emmanuel says he will not give to me. Because I did not work correctly as per him, mind you, I always told him when I had issues, I requested assistance and never received. Luckily I am a US citizen, although I live abroad. We've used Comfort Squad over the years for multiple projects, including a 2 stage AC and furnace, sheet metal ductwork with fresh air duct, Aprilaire filtration, blower door tests, insulation removal, attic air sealing and blown in cellulose. The pricing is very reasonable, they do beautiful work and even installed a walkway for equipment access and a storage area in my attic. Check out the pictures of my attic! Woke up last night around 2am and noticed my system wasn't cooling. Went outside and noticed the condenser wasn't running. Immediately I got on the website and Put in a request. Danielle responded first thing early, explained my warranty and quoted me up front of the diagnostic fee. Had the tech here within the hour and system is up and running again. They're many companies out there ,but if you want honest techs that can actually trouble shoot your problem and not a sales person trying to sell you a new unit, and follow through with excellent customer service Emmanuel and his crew at Comfort Squad are the ones to call. Repeat customer here. My 1984 (original) central air conditioning system was on its last leg. I called Comfort Squad, and the owner, Emmanuel, promptly scheduled a visit to my condo. He is a second generation HVAC Technician, and that knowledge shows. Emmanuel's father brought him and his brother into the business. I support family-owned businesses. As a general rule, I always get at least two bids when dealing with contractors: a/c, plumbers, tile, electrical, etc. for competitive pricing and to receive different points of views. Emmanuel offered a very competitive estimate, so I purchased a complete A/C and Heating system from him, which included the outdoor condenser, interior evaporator, and furnace. It was a great system. The installation was excellent and clean; about a 5 hour process. What an improvement! I saved hundred of dollars on my electric bill based on the energy efficient system. Fast forward three years later, I purchased a single-story home. The system was not cooling properly. Emmanuel diagnosed the system and discovered a ventilation issue. The return-air vent was not recycling / pulling out the hot air, so Emmanuel and his team, added two new return-air registers in the ceiling that were ducted back to the system in the attic. Voila! The system works better and is operating more efficiently. Side note: It's best to have more than one return-air register. The home I recently purchased had a single central return-air grille. The registers allow for proper air circulation and help to balance pressure from room-to-room, minimizing uneven room temperatures. Oh, and Emmanuel used a very cool thermal imaging camera to detect uneven temperatures thought the house. Need more insulation in attic. Would I recommend Comfort Squad to my family and friends? We scheduled and received Edgar's visit. He delivered a great presentation, provided several options and very good financing options, we selected his proposal. This is a Great family owned company! From sales, through design and installation, each of the brothers were very professional. Rather than limit their service to a simple replacement, they studied my house and determined that minor adjustments to the return duct system would provide higher efficiency and greater comfort. Affordable, honest, AMAZING communication from all departments, prompt and on time, very respectful and courteous staff. Answered all questions and never falsified issues that didn't exist and I was not pressured with a fake sales pitch. The response to my very first phone call is what sold me. Their after hour service actually answers with a live person!!! Second they offered to bring me portable AC units until our scheduled appointment and this was even before a committed install. My brother referred me to Comfort Squad because he had a great experience with them. I had them come out last summer to service my ac unit and they advised me to replace it due to it was over 20 years old. I declined and decided to repair it. A couple days ago my ac went out again. Edgar came out and diagnosed a bad circuit board. He was very polite and informative. I decided not to spend money on another repair. Yesterday the installation crew came out and replaced my ac and heater. I was very impressed by their attention to detail. My daughter's bedroom has never been comfortable. I am looking to replace my 18 year old AC unit. I had a few companies come out to give me a bid. I read some reviews about comfort squad and was actually looking forward to what they had to offer. I made the call and they didn't have anyone available to come over to the house for a week. I am not in a big hurry so I scheduled the appointment anyway. The gentleman that came out looked at what I had and even though I had upgraded my furnace 2 years ago, was insisting that I buy a new one with the AC unit. The furnace I bought is a higher end unit from Trane. (XV95). I want to match the furnace with a XR17 and appropriate evaporator. At the end of the visit he stated his manager was going to have to send me a quote. He also said it would be by the end of the day. I called that night before closing and was told I would get it the next day. Same thing happened the next day. I called and spoke with the secretary and she said she would relay the message. A few days later I sent an email to the company with no response. Yet again I reached out via Facebook messenger and I still didn't get a response. At this point if they can't respond to sells opportunities, I can't imagine what the response would be if there was a problem with an install or a needed repair. I was thoroughly impressed from our first encounter when I was provided with a quote. The salesman explained everything and his quote was for a HVAC system that was better rated than his competitors. On installation day they called when they were in route to begin the work. A total replacement was done of the furnace, condenser, evaporator and all ductwork. There were no hidden charges when the bill was presented. They completed the registration paperwork with the manufacturer and forwarded warranty documentation.
