Always super friendly and professional and deliver high quality projects. They are also great at taking our crazy ideas and figuring out how to make them work with a smile. The most recent project was fixing our wood rotting shed that was falling apart. We have a very inquisitive toddler and needed to figure out how to fix it so it would resist the elements and not have nails sticking out. Darinel from Ultra Services was referred to us by a friend. He had built and finished a few houses on their property outside of Fredericksberg. We had just purchased a house built in 1978 and it needed a TON of work. He showed up and walked through with us while we pointed out things we wanted to do. Along the way he had some really great ideas that we had not thought of. He were impressed by his creativity and his knowledge of how the home was built and ways he could help us improve it. Within a few days his crew showed up to start the demo. Everyone was masked up and so friendly. It was amazing how quick they got the house prepped and demoed. We were living in our guest house in the back of our property but it was still amazing to see the progress every day. Ultra Services remodeled our entire house. New Kitchen, cabinets, new floors, new bathrooms, new closets, retextured walls, installed skylights, new electrical, plumbing, new windows, full paint interior/exterior, structural work, and roof support. Darinel was very responsive and showed up almost daily to check in on his crew and let us know what progress would be happening. The work they did surpassed our expectations ten fold. We plan on building another small house on our property and will be using USR again. In fact, we have already referred Ultra to friends and family that are planning their remodels. read more

My experience with USR has not been positive. I contacted USR last year to help build a small workshop behind our home. USR agreed but after several weeks of poor communication, broken promises, and still no clear start date, I called USR to terminate the agreement and started looking for another contractor. During the same call, USR readily and voluntarily agreed to refund 100% of the earnest money I had provided ~ 7 days prior. USR eventually refunded a portion but kept $10,000, claiming they were having "some difficulty getting reimbursed by their subcontractors". Later, they changed their justification for keeping the money by claiming they incurred "substantial pre-construction expenses". That was a surprise to me since the potential of these "expenses" was never disclosed to me prior, and USR has not provided any evidence or documentation to substantiate their claim. After contacting the materials vendors, I also know that NONE of the long-lead items were ever ordered which is why I had provided the earnest money in the first place so that can't be the reason either. The amount of earnest money USR is withholding is definitely excessive and clearly arbitrary, especially for such a small project. Also, I cleared my work and family calendars each time USR would commit (and then de-commit) a start date at no small inconvenience to me and my family. After multiple attempts to resolve this issue with the owner of USR, he apparently decided the best way to solve the issue was to stop communicating with me and has ultimately left me with no option other than finding legal assistance. read more

My experience with Ultra Services Remodeling was overall really positive on my exterior front door project. Darnel Luna, the man in charge, agreed to pick up the door at the place I bought it without charging anything extra. They arrived exactly when they said they would, had a decent sized crew, and Darnel was there at the beginning and the end of the project. They did a very good, thorough job, including making the trim and paint look very nice and thoroughly cleaning the place before departing. They also dealt with some challenges since my old door wasn't quite the same size as the new door, but they made it work and didn't complain. Flaco helped paint a few of our vents that had some mold damage. It was an odd request but he was gracious and understood it was important that we paint the interior of the vents with a special paint to kill any remaining residue. He was able to complete the request within the week and his crew was efficient and very respectful. I would work with Flaco again! read more

Would definitely recommend. We needed a bathtub-to-shower conversion. Ultra Services gave us a better solution for a much lower price than what the bigger companies offered. Communication on scope and price was clear and consistent. They always let us know when they would be coming--and then showed up exactly as scheduled. The workers were very polite and accommodating, and they did an excellent job keeping the jobsite clean, and removed tools and floor coverings each evening before leaving. My home suffered extensive damage when a water line broke on the second floor. I called Ultra Services and three other firms that were highly rated by rating services such as Angi, Google and Yelp to bid on the restoration project. The contrast between Ultra Services and the other three other firms was day and night. Ultra Services came out and took the time to take detailed notes on required work. Then they provided a detailed estimate that gave me a cost breakdown of all individual charges that I could compare to an insurance estimate. They were crystal clear about what was and was not included in their bid. As I learned more about what was needed, they cheerfully revised their estimate with the changes. Other firms simply gave me a final figure with almost no breakdown of costs, leaving me to wonder what specifics were actually included. In all, working with Ultra Services was a very positive experience in an otherwise very stressful time. Just as I was ready to commit to using Ultra Services I discovered that a friend of 20 years owned a company that performed only insurance related restoration claims work, and used the same estimation software that the insurance company used to align estimates and actuals. In the end, I did not engage Ultra Services, but it would be a disservice to not report that the quality of their up-front service is very impressive and highly recommended by me. read more

Just finished a major remodeling of my house. After abandoned by a previous contractor, Ultra Services Remodeling company took over and saved the project. Flaco is dependable and honest with great knowledge and years of experience. Pays attention to details. Most importantly, he has a smart brain with impressive memory. Everything I requested needed to be said only once and it was done. He has reliveved so much stress for me beause of his effectiveness and efficiency. The crew is hard working to meet the schedule. I have another review for Ultra Services Remodeling! They did such a great job on our music gear cabinets a year and a half ago that we called them to help us remodel our tired, late 1960's guest bath. Michael was so helpful with all the little details, helping us think through a more modern design that would fit with our transitional home. Darinel and crew made sure everything was perfect. I'm pretty picky on small details, but they were happy to make changes to help my husband and I realize the vision we had for the space. When I picked a tile that normally would not have worked on a slightly crooked wall, they fixed it and made it fit beautifully. They were very careful with demo and finish out since I have asthma and can't handle strong fumes or lots of dust. We are soooo happy with the results, we can't wait until we can have them remodel our master bath too! read more

I tried to set up an appointment to get an estimate on building and exterior bathroom. When I called the person who answered the phone with an impatient "Hello". Once I confirmed I called the correct number and reached USR I tried to set up the appointment. He told me to go online to set it up. I thought it was a bit strange he couldn't help me while we are on the phone, but went online. I organized an appointment at an available time per their calendar. I then received an email that the appointment was not available followed by another email recommending another time with a link. I clicked the link and thought I accepted the new time. Apparently not. I didn't realize this until I got an automated message from them 1 minute past the scheduled time indicating that my appointment expired. At this point I had already missed time at work under the assumption someone would be at my house for the estimate. Of course, all of this could have been avoided if URS would accommodate scheduling appointments over the phone or have the respect to actually pick up a phone and call the person if they were not able to make the scheduled time. Frustrated, I replied to the message and requested that someone contact me by phone so I can be sure that someone would come out at the scheduled time. Rather then receiving a call from USR, they simply replied back and told me to look elsewhere. WOW!!! I thanked them for saving us both a lot of time and frustration. If this is how they conduct business with a small scheduling hiccup, I'd hate to find out what it would be like to have to actually work with them as a contractor. I'm sure I'll find a more reputable contractor with basic customer service skills. Too bad for USR. The exterior work is a small job to see how it goes as we're budgeting for a full kitchen remodel in 2 years. read more
