I would give 10 stars if I could!!!…read more I have been going to Myabi for years and can say confidently that I will be a return customer forever. A few of my favorite rolls are the Yummy Roll and Volcano Roll (it has filet mignon and they cook it in front of you on table). Consistent quality and always the friendliest staff. An excellent establishment. Great food, quick waits times if any, and top service staff. An essential staple in Arnold. Live, laugh, love Myabi

We lived in Japan for nine years, so admittedly, we can be a little picky when it comes to Japanese food. I started with the lychee martini, which was just okay. It's made with lychee juice rather than puree and didn't have any actual lychee in it, so it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. For appetizers, we ordered the shumai and shrimp tempura. Both were decent, although the shumai arrived a little cool and could have been served warmer. The highlight was definitely the Love Boat for Two, which was a HUGE assortment of sushi and sashimi. We really enjoyed it. The fish wasn't quite as fresh as some of the sushi and sashimi we've had elsewhere, and the sashimi was cut much thicker than I personally prefer. On the bright side, I guess that means we got more fish, so that's not exactly the worst complaint to have! One random thing I really appreciated was the temperature inside the restaurant. Missouri is pretty hot and humid, but I also hate walking into a restaurant where the AC is blasting so cold that I need a jacket. Miyabi had it just right. It was cool enough to be comfortable without being freezing, and I was able to sit and enjoy our meal without getting cold and wanting to leave early. It's a small thing, but it definitely added to the experience for me. Service was probably the weakest part of our visit. Our server was difficult for us to understand at times, which made communication a little challenging, and overall the service wasn't quite as attentive as I would have liked. They also had taiko drumming during our visit, which was a fun idea for the atmosphere. Having lived in Japan for so long, though, we couldn't help but notice that it seemed more like enthusiastic drum banging than actual taiko drumming. That's probably us being extremely nitpicky, but we definitely got a little laugh out of it. Overall, the food was good, the Love Boat was impressive, and we had an enjoyable dinner. There were a few things that could have been better, particularly the service and some of the food temperatures and freshness, but I'd still give Miyabi a solid four stars.

I'm in the process of moving to St. Louis and on my travel here this evening I saw this sign for this sushi place and I thought, it's been a while since I've had good sushi." Granted, my expectations for good sushi in farmland Missouri are not real high. But what I got in my interaction with the staff and what they gave me as an order was frankly embarrassing. I feel bad for those unfamiliar with sushi and Japanese culture who come to this place and think they're getting an authentic experience. I will tell you: they are not. It started when the server asked me whether I wanted to see the menu or I knew what I wanted. Generally, as a vegan, I have very few options, so they're pretty much the same wherever. Sometimes I might be able to get a good shiitake maki roll, but nine times out of ten, I'm limited to avocado and cucumber rolls. I asked if they had inarizushi. Blank stares. The server had no idea what I was talking about, none. I repeated it and she answered back with "unagi?," which is barbecued eel, definitely not vegan. We tried a third time and she asked about egg. I said no that's tamago. ‍ Frustrated, I broke down and looked up inarizushi on Wikipedia, which provided a picture. She exclaimed, "Oh! Tofu skin!" The itamae (sushi chef) nodded and said the same. Now I don't know about you, but even as a vegan who enjoys "tofu skin" in a variety of dishes, that sounds absolutely horrid. But there it is, listed on the menu as tofu skin. My heart actually started to hurt a little, because the Japanese words are descriptive in nature, not just of the ingredients that's contained with each roll or piece, but of the culture that goes into it. But then came the confusion of the pricing, where instead of sets where you get six pieces of a particular maki roll in one set or two pieces of 稲荷 in one order, every single piece you order was individually priced. I'm positive this is to maximize profits, because after ordering only two tofu skins and six avocados my bill was over $19. Seriously? For middle of the sticks Missouri sushi? There was no place to sit at the sushi bar while I waited, and I stood around uncomfortably feeling like I was in everyone's way while I waited for my sushi order. Eventually, I noticed there was a bench in the entrance alcoveand I sat there to wait on my sushi and immediately started a review on Yelp, knowing that I was going to write of my disappointment while giving a three star recommendation. When I got my order, the inari was the smallest I've ever seen. Seriously, I'd get bigger pieces at a Lawson's near the train station, and no doubt tastier and more filling. Worse was this abomination of avocado sushi prepared in nigirizushi style. I've been all over Japan and had never seen avocado served like this, especially when I was expecting a maki roll. I just sat in the car, and I immediately marched back in and said, "Look, I don't want this. I don't think you guys know what you're doing." I tried to explain to them how I was expecting a maki roll and they had no idea what was talking about. How can you have a sushi restaurant when you don't understand the basics of sushi? They were all confused about why I wanted my money back and why I wasn't happy. I didn't really want to get in a debate or a discussion of cultural misappropriation, but if you're looking for an authentic sushi-ya ... brother, this ain't it. I finally just looked at the chef and I said in Mandarin 我不买 "I won't buy it." And that seemed to end the discussion. The restaurant was packed. People seemed to be enjoying it, and the workers were very nice, but they don't know what they're doing. This is not Japanese sushi, it's just the Temu of version of Japanese cuisine bastardized for an American audience. Don't even get me started on putting hot mustard packs in my to go bag. Just really disappointing and inauthentic.

Probably! The restaurant itself is pretty small, and the parking lot even smaller. We visited on a Friday afternoon around 3pm, so we didn't have any waiting issues and the staff was super attentive. We will be back because my husband and I want to tackle their Titanic Sushi Boat.

Ordering takeout online was quick and easy, and when I arrived, I was promptly greeted by the young people at the front counter who let me know my order would be ready in about 10 minutes. There is seating inside for those waiting on to go orders, so I took a seat while the meal was prepared, and took in the cozy space. Sure enough, about 10 minutes later my food comes out, ready to go. The young lady at the front counter explained they had given me a few crab rangoon on the house since it took a little longer to prepare than the online system estimated :.) The excellent service and kindness was much appreciated. The food was all delicious - across a variety of rolls including California, spider, rainbow, and spicy tuna, everything was fresh and flavorful. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

The menu is diverse with a variety of rolls with several that seem similar to rolls from other locations. I went with the rock and roll and the queen roll. Starting with the positives is the attentiveness of service. Staff is friendly and inviting and read my mind with the recommendation of the rock and roll as I was considering that one! The rolls came out and they are packed with fresh ingredients and presented well. The exterior of the rock and roll was fried just enough to give nice crunchy texture with modest filling so you arent hunting around the roll figuring out where something is. The rolls were all cut evenly. The rock and roll was delicious, however sliced a little bigger than what I like but it comes with a lot so I get why its larger. The negatives - I thought the Queen roll was OK. I felt the white fish could've been crispier as it was rather soft. Everything felt more one note as the white fish had no real discernible flavor, paired with shrimp and avocado and it was mostly bland. Perhaps add another element and texture or make the white fish bigger and stand out more. Lastly, the soft drink had an unpleasant after taste. I ordered Dr Pepper and it tasted either like diet or the carbonation was going out on it. I'd be willing to return and try more of what you have to offer!
