WOW - this is the best sushi we've had since moving to Missouri. The cuts of fish are fat, fresh, and melt in your mouth! My husband and I ordered the Sushi Boat Deluxe and an Ocean Roll to share. While we waited for the Sushi Boat, the Ocean Roll already told us that the fish was going to be good. My MIL ordered chicken fried rice and house lo mein for her and my toddler. Man, we weren't expecting those dishes to be flavorful, but they were! Could it be? The best fried rice we've had also? Probably! The restaurant itself is pretty small, and the parking lot even smaller. We visited on a Friday afternoon around 3pm, so we didn't have any waiting issues and the staff was super attentive. I've had the Bonzai roll before and even though it's a little difficult to eat, it's worth it, especially if you're watching your carbs since this is a riceless roll. The St. Charles mayor roll was packed with flavor and was a very generous number of pieces. I tried the bang bang shrimp this time and they were very large shrimp with a kind of spicy mayo and chili sauce on top, but I have to say it was more sweet and not spicy at all. I would've liked it to have some spicy heat, but it was lacking that. Sushi boat is a cute spot for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is a bit smaller so it's very intimate meal, but it is a nice space and they also have a small patio for warmer days. They have a nice drink selection of beer and wine. The service was pretty good. No complaints about service or wait times. Now I understand why this place gets such great reviews. Came for a weekend lunch and it was super packed but somehow we got seated immediately for two people. The menu is really expansive. My friend is vegetarian so we got all the veggie friendly options. The agedashi tofu is so good, vegetable tempura is a classic, seaweed salad is generous with the portion, and the vegetable roll with avocado, cucumber, and asparagus was a solid pick. The simple avocado roll is another classic, simple roll. Get the sweet potato roll! It blew us away, it was so filling and tasty, did not expect that. Loved the oysters, edamame was tender and cooked perfectly but soft shell crab a big disappointment...and I've never been disappointed with soft shell crab...ever. I'm always on the hunt for a great, fresh sushi place, especially now that I'm landlocked. I will admit I'm pretty picky, and I will not eat raw in a landlocked state (because YUCK, frozen or canned?!). The reviews here were good, so I decided to take a chance. The restaurant is the proverbial hole in the wall place. There's not a ton of flashy decor, and the interior is pretty small. Parking is decent though, so that's a plus! I was able to take a good peek at the menu, and I'm happy to say it has a ton of offerings. I decided to try two rolls, the pink lady and snow white, and they were amazing! Imitation crab, of course, but the flavors were excellent. The sauces were very flavorful, and the soy paper just worked so well on both of them. The waitress was not terribly attentive during my food, but I didn't really need much, so no big deal. I'm definitely coming back here. How often do you go to the same restaurant 3 times in 2 weeks with 3 different group of people? I typically don't unless it is Sushi Boat. This has got to be my top 3 favorite restaurant in the greater St. Louis area and definitely the go-to sushi restaurant. After moving back from the East Coast, it took me about 10 failed tries to find a sushi restaurant that I truly liked and I am so thankful that I found this restaurant. The staff are friendly, menu is extensive (I've yet to order anything from the non-sushi section though, their sushi is that good), and the quality of the food is amazing. Our go to order is the Titanic which comes with variety of sashimi, nigiri, and your selection of rolls (it's a lot of food, but look up a sushi bake recipe if you end up with leftovers). My recommendations for rolls are Manhattan roll if you like spice and Flamingo Dancing roll if you like to impress your date (spoiler: it's on fire). Besides the delicious and creative sushi rolls, their sashimi cuts and generous and the fish is always fresh. My one feedback after their new location in Chesterfield opened is that their food comes out a little slower than it used to, but it just means that you should get to the restaurant earlier and come back another time if you need a place for a quick dinner. read more

Our fave sushi place in the area is Sado but the location and price tag only allows us to go there on very special occasions, so we wanted a place that was closer, more wallet friendly, and still high quality fish. The food did take some time coming out bit that was fine as we were not in any hurry and the place was packed and buzzing. The wait staff made sure to welcome their guests and came by the table a few times but it did take a while for drinks to be filled. For appetizers, we ordered a round of crab Rangoon and Agi Dashi or fried Tofu. The agi dashi did not have much in the way if flavor until it was dipped in the sweet chili sauce but it had a nice soft creamy texture on the inside and lightly toasted exterior. The crab Rangoon were okay, not our favorite as we found the filling to be on the sweet side and the wonton wrapper tasting almost like a cracker. I ordered three rolls: the kamikaze, St Charles mayor and Snow Mountain. The rolls came out and they were beautifully presented and colorful. The rolls tasted fresh however I found all three tasted much the same and not much texture. Outstanding Sushi in a small dining casual environment. They have a pretty big menu and you can do some other things besides sushi like fried rice, Ramen, and some other items. The bottom line is the sushi was delicious. You can tell the ingredients were fresh and it's easy to see why this is considered one of the better casual dining, sushi, places, and really one of the better sushi places in the area. So so good. I had the Mai Tai to drink, which was very acid forward and could have used a sweet juice infusion but I had 2 so it wasn't bad. I had the fried Philly and the New York for lunch. Essentially the same role, one is fried and the other has a soy wrap instead of seaweed both were equally good in their own way. The raw fish was absolutely buttery and melt in your mouth fantastic.
