So fresh and delicious, one of my new favorites. Our server was great as well! The Salmon Nigiri was probably my favorite some of the best tasting sushi I've had!

We were trying to get into another restaurant outside of Disney but by the time we got there they had a 1.5-2 hour wait about 30 mins after opening. I was bummed so we started to head home. Our trip took us up to Ocoee (because I did NOT want to get on I-4) and I search of Google Maps found this place rated very high. We stopped in and we're greeted immediately by the chef and a server. We sat by the window and looked over the menu. I looked around and noticed the photos of cats and dogs on the wall. I'm sure there's a story about it but I was hungry so I didn't ask. We both shared a pot of hot green tea which was perfect as it was way colder outside than we thought it would be. I looked at their specials and saw the Lobster roll, but I decided to get two rolls as my meal. I ordered the Kraken roll (fresh salmon, avocado, cucumber, lemon top with torched squid, wasabi mayo, black tobiko, spicy ponzu sauce) and the Tsunami roll (Alaskan snow crab salad, tempura crunch top with shiromi, thinly sliced Persian limes, micro cilantro, tobiko, house shiso pesto) while he got an Alaskan roll (Alaskan snow crab salad, asparagus top with torched salmon, thin slices of lemon, wasabi caviar, ponzu sauce). Took maybe less than 15 mins to get to our table. I'm very glad we choose this place because the rolls were amazing! I really liked the Kraken over the Tsunami just for the squid. He really liked his rolls as well, so much so that he struggled with the last pieces, not wanting to waste them but not having room to eat them hahaha. I'd definitely recommend this place to anymore passing through.

I love Umami Sushi & Isakaya! Its my favorite place for Sushi. I cant get enough of their california roll and spicy tuna roll. Their other food is great too, won ton pop, pancake, vegetable roll. Update: i am I n love with their Dynamite Roll. It is tuna, salmon, yeklowtail, wasabi mayo, and cucumber. It is topped with masago. The restaurant is very pretty inside and the service is wonderful. There is plenty of parking too. Ill be trying their ramen this week.

Overall, ok sushi with really good service. The house salad had a dark ginger dressing, first time setting that and not the cream colored one, tasted ok. The sashimi platter and spicy rainbow roll were also just ok. During the meal we all just looked at each other and said ugh it's ok, no other adjectives used. This local sushi eatery in located in Ocoee off of Maguire road in a plaza anchored by Publix. There is plenty of parking and the ambiance is roughly what you would expect from a strip mall.

Stopped by to try a new sushi place instead of our normal Gochi or Beijing & Tokyo...we were surprised to walk in and find the restaurant completely empty, but it was an early Sunday evening. We ordered the pork gyoza as an appetizer, which was a little crispy but delicious. The honey shrimp was on special so we ordered it as well, but we weren't as impressed with the flavor...it was just tempura shrimp with a bit of a spicy mayo drizzle that tasted kind of like bang bang shrimp and was too spicy for my daughter to enjoy. We also ordered the dynamite roll and spicy tuna roll, both seemed fresh, but the fish was very overpowering and had almost full fourths of cucumber on them, and fatty and both rolls tasted pretty much the same. At almost $80, it seemed a little overpriced so we probably won't return.

The restaurant is cute and the servers were sweet! The food was decent but not my favorite!

Sushi is my favorite food so I already was excited when stepping inside. They don't have as large of a Sushi menu as I was expecting. Some interesting combinations to choose from but not many. I like a bit more variety. We ordered the Bonsai Roll, Alaskan Roll, Jalapeño Roll, and Kraken Roll. The Bonsai was my favorite because the bbq eel on top gave it such a hearty flavor. I wish there was a bit more spice on the Jalapeño Roll but it was still very tasty. The most interesting of them all was the Alaskan Roll. It had a very citrus forward flavor that was heightened with the lovely ponzu sauce that it was served with. I've never really had sushi that was so bright and acidic with such citrus forward flavors. The only roll I didn't care for was the Kraken Roll. I thought the squid on top had a strange texture and was very chewy so it took over the whole roll and made it hard to taste anything else on the inside. I didn't like that everything came out at different times, almost tapas style. I like being able to try all my rolls together so I can get different bites each time and save the best for last. Plus, it's weird when half your party get served and starts eating while the other half has to sit there and stare awkwardly. I also thought, while it was pretty good sushi, for what you got, the rolls seemed smaller and it was very much overpriced. The ambiance of the restaurant is cool and the food was good, but I don't think I'll go out of my way to go back when I can have delicious sushi at other places for better value.

8/7/20 - We can't come here and not get the show nachos. Tonight we added some better tuna as an appetizer and it did not disappoint. This place is AHHHHmazing!! This place is always amazing. Today we shared the ahi nachos and coconut shrimp roll. Both were fresh, delicious and satisfying. The server was pleasant and attentive. Love love love this llac

We went searching for a Japanese place and found this place. It's located in a shopping plaza, so parking isn't an issue. We started off with Sake - Peach and Mango. From there we went small plate style and got the house salad, sticky wings, pork belly boa buns, and basil fried rice with ham and chicken. The house salad was a great starter. The ginger dressing was just right. The sticky wings were hands down the favorite dish of the night! They were super saucy and so good! The pork belly boa buns were decent. A few things that could have made them better: shredded pork...the pork belly is too fatty and hard to eat. The pork NEEDS a sauce! We ended up dipping them into the leftover sauce from the sticky wings and it made the dish so much better. Finally the basil fried rice. For me this was a big miss. The cubbed, thinly sliced ham was strange and the strips of basil on top of the rice was way overpowering. It's one of those things we just won't try again. So why 4 stars you ask? The biggest reason is that when we asked for steamed rice bowls for our kids, the server came out with spoons! Something so little, but it means a lot not to have to ask for spoons. Also, the staff was very attentive. Lastly, they have a rewards program - for every $20 you spend, you get a stamp. When you get 10 stamps, you earn $20 off your next meal. There are still things we want to try, so we will be back.

Food was good. Great presentation. Sushi didn't have much taste. Salad was good. Charged me for sauces Also tried to charge for a refill on a drink.

We choose to sit at the bar as it's open seating. my husband wanted the five spice chicken wings, and we were disappointed to learn that they've been taken off the menu. This is such a huge disappointment because that five spice dry rub was amazing. We ended up talking to the bartender and she said that they could do the lil sum sum (kids menu) wings naked and put the spice on the side. My husband chose to go that route (two order as there are only 3 wings an order) but thankfully, they actually tossed the wings in the spice, which was perfect. But we really do wish that they would bring back the actual full order of the five spice chicken wings as that was his go to when we went there and because that's not on the menu it may decrease the amount of time we go back now because he doesn't really care for a lot of the other menu items. I got the five spice green beans, which is one of my favorite items on the menu. I was surprised to hear that they had taken it off the menu for a while and that they had just brought it back. so glad that they did because that was the whole reason we had traveled out there and had they not been on the menu. There's a good chance we probably would've found somewhere else. I also had the Po Po Lau curry because it is another one of my favorite dishes.

The drink was good with some spices, but instead of a craft ice, they just used regular crushed ice, making the drink a bit watered down. For my food, they sadly no longer had the duck noodles, so I tried the CKT noodles (15 dollars) instead. They mentioned it would have a smokey flavor from the wok preparation, which I enjoyed. However, the noodles were quite chewy. The meats included shrimp, pork sausage, and chicken. The chicken and shrimp were enjoyable, but the sausage could have used a bit of a punch. I was able to get some sambal for heat, but it lacked flavor and it was a bit gritty too. At least there was an ample amount such that I could take some home for the next day. My server was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was the same. I did enjoy the audible music and crowd, making the vibe nice. I would definitely come back if the bring the duck noodles again, and maybe try another drink next time too. Overall: B-

Secondly, super disappointed with the selection. There is barely any! And the chef was not in a hurry either. Maybe it was the time of day and the day of the week but come on man. You are a restaurant, should you not always try to look your best no matter how busy or slow the place is. The cleaning lady was busy though. The booth we sat in had a beautiful and asymmetrical heavy wooden table top polished to a brilliant shine, and there were a surprising number of diners there at noonish, on a Tuesday... what's that tell you? Now: the food! *First, for the technically challenged, be warned that the menu is available via phone and QR Code. If you want a printed menu, too bad. Otherwise... We began our meal with Agedashi Tofu, which is fried cubes of tofu that have a magnificently thin layer of a crisp skin encasing melted tofu, and there's a perfect sauce to dip them in. I have been thinking about these for an hour now and can't even imagine how they are made. A delicious magic trick! Next, we had an Eel and Shrimp Tempura Roll, a Shrimp Tempura Bento Box, and two Nigiri and Sashimi lunch specials. The Tempura was light and crisp. The bento box included a spring roll, fried rice, and gyoza, all perfectly flavored. The Nigiri and Sashimi fish was served cold and absolutely fresh, and was sliced generously. The Nigiri and Sushi lunches included a California roll, 4 pieces of sushi, and six pieces of sashimi, and really was a lot of excellent food for a bargain $24. I almost forgot that we started, along with the Agedashi Tofu, with a very subtly flavored miso soup with tofu and seaweed. This was also perfection, with just a breath of ginger and perfect salt. I hope I've convinced you fans of Japanese food to try this restaurant. If you're new to Japanese food's many varieties and intricacies, or hesitant to eat raw foods, there are always cooked meat and fish dishes like Tempura or Teriyaki you can order, and then you can explore by tasting the more exotic things your friends and family order. Maybe you'll develop a taste for it! If you already have a taste for Japanese food, don't pass up an opportunity to eat a wonderful meal at Mikado, in MetroWest.
