    Shoyu Ramen + Chicken Katsu

BEST CHICKEN KATSU! Service was quick and it took about 10 min or so to get the food. Place tends to get a little bit crowded due to it being in the food court area of H Mart.

Our first time in H Mart today and... WOW! But that's an entirely different review. Chidon Katsu is located in the food court area of H Mart amongst several other food vendor options. Order at the counter, have a seat and wait for your number on a screen to pickup. We both decided on teriyaki with veggies and the side of veggie fried rice. Him the Salmon, myself the chicken. Both of our meals also came with a soup (more like a broth- it went unfinished). However, our meals? Great! The veggies fresh and crisp and my chicken perfect! A good sized serving as well (we had a hard time finishing it all!) As we were eating we both agreed that the quality here was better than some of the nicer places we've been recently. A recommend! Add two Cokes our lunch around 45 dollars but money well spent! My only regret is not having eaten first before grocery shopping!!! (Never grocery hungry!)

This place is inside the very busy food court at H mart, much good food to be explored there. Very lively atmosphere well lit and cool temps. This place does the Katsu thing very well. stick to the fried things here. the chicken katsu, fried wings and croquets are very good. Their fried rice is ok and their sides are pretty good. For this visit I did find something I will steer clear from and that is their Shoyu ramen. It was colorless and tasted like cabbage soup, there was a lot of cabbage in it for some reason, the toppings felt stale and flavorless and the pork was so thin you could almost see through it but also barely seasoned and with a strong gamey taste. All in all not at all what expected and very unpleasant. I will be back for a fired treat but I make better ramen at home.

Very good chicken katsu and large portions at that! The sides--a broth soup, salad, rice, and pickled radish (takuan/oshinko) were more than ample, all tasty and fresh, and the chicken perfectly breaded. Only complaint was the time from order to pick-up a bit long and the staff seemed hurried and not quite paying full attention to their customers but then again, nothing on my order was wrong so maybe just busy at the close of a long day. The food hall is very, very, loud on a Saturday night with live music, the World Cup on, and people everywhere so it was a bit tough to talk with the lady taking orders anyways. For katsu, best I've had probably in Orlando yet.

I ordered the half Katsu and ramen so I could get a little bit of both and not have too much food. Well that was my mistake since the portion sizes were HUGE. So there is a lot of value in their meal deal. The katsu was perfectly crispy and the katsu sauce was good. I opted for the miso ramen and it was good with lots of noodles and topings. The staff was very nice when I ordered and when I came up to ask for a box to get the rest to go home with me. It is in the food court of H-mart and the place was clean and there was a lot of seating. I can be tricky to get a table, but people do rotate in and out of there pretty regularly.

I finally got to try this place inside of H Mart! I love Japanese food and Katsu so I just had to try this. As always, the food court in H Mart was very busy. It does take a bit of time after you order here for them to serve you your food but I think that's just how the food court is here. The guy at the register was helpful in recommending what I should order. You have to be vigilant in looking out for a seat at this food court. You could also just eating your car, but it's not ideal. I ordered the Tonkatsu thinking it would just come with chicken, cabbage, and rice. It came with a cabbage slaw with some kind of mayo on it, it was good. This meal also came with a soup, I'm not sure what kind it was but it was okay. There was also some pickled veggies which were yummy. The star is definitely the Tonkatsu though. This is definitely the best I've ever had. It was perfectly fried and it wasn't dry. They serve quite a lot as well. I would definitely come back here! If you like Katsu you should try this place :)

Omg! I love this place! It is soo good! Everything we have truest so far is absolutely delicious! We never leave disappointed. Sometimes it takes a bit for the food to be done but that just means that it's made fresh everyday. It also depends on the line that forms of people who would like to order from here. After ordering it can be a little difficult to find a seat but you eventually do find a table. The food court is usually pretty packed. I have yet to try another of the veriaty of foods they have in the food court. But every time I want to try something different I feel like why why break something that isn't broken. So I keep going back to this place. Like I said it never disappoints so they got me hooked. And I look forward to going ever time I go.

Seems to be one of those places where the staff is just too cool and not inviting. I've never eaten there before I misunderstood how it works but being the way they were when ordering I just sucked it up and tried to enjoy my only meal here... ever. $28 for a can of sprite and ton katsu. Its basically decent mall food. Hella over priced ,but ib the "trendy" HMart. Portions was sufficient, taste was good but didnt... change my life if you get my drift. Would I again? Nope.

    Shrimp tempura udon

Finally visiting H Mart in Orlando! Chidon is one of the many food options in the food court area. I ordered the Shrimp tempura udon, I was a little bummed that it only came with one mid sized shrimp. The shrimp was accompanied by two slices of zucchini tempura- I'm a zucchini fan and these were nice! The tempura was a bit on the oily side, but yummy, none the less. The noodles were thick and tender and the broth was soothing. The person who took my order was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu.

We got the tempura udon and it was yummy! We only got one tempura shrimp which was a little disappointing but it was still tasty!

This place is not cheap however it is worth the price as the food was delicious. The noodle soup tasted like miso soup. The winner was the chicken katsu, very fluffy and crunchy. The tempura shrimp and vegetables were also good.

If you are in the Orlando area, and decide to try one of the restaurants within the new H Mart, don't pick this one. Prices were high, portions were small, and everything was overcooked, or should I say over fried. this one experience gave me cause to ever try any of the other restaurants present.

    Yaki udon katsu
    Victoria S.

Yum!!! We hadn't had katsu since our trip to Japan and this was a great option close to home. We didn't mind waiting for the food to be made as they had quite a few orders before us, we knew it'd be fresh. We got the Yaki udon and katsu combo. The only thing I wish they did differently was not put the dressing/mayo on the cabbage - I can't eat mayo so I had to skip on that. The miso soup on the side was great too. The taste was great and the service was reasonable for how busy it was! It was pricy at $50 for two meals with no drinks, but they were huge and we probably could have split one, since we were going home soon after I brought half of mine home.

To my horror it was the worst hibachi I've ever had; there are several takeout/express type places I would rank above this in terms of quality. The steak had no sear at all on it, everything on the plate including the veggies was bland and lacking flavor, but the biggest disappointment? The rice. It had some sort of weird flavor to it and was extremely dry. While I would go back for the sushi, I cannot recommend this place for anyone that isn't a sushi fan.

Years ago, I got a gift card from them, which I use only once since. Today I was told I had a zero balance on it and that the gift card never had any money on it based on their records. That's obviously impossible because why would I have a gift card that never had anything on it? I would say get gift cards with caution. Otherwise check them out for sure. We choose to sit at the bar as it's open seating. my husband wanted the five spice chicken wings, and we were disappointed to learn that they've been taken off the menu. This is such a huge disappointment because that five spice dry rub was amazing. We ended up talking to the bartender and she said that they could do the lil sum sum (kids menu) wings naked and put the spice on the side. My husband chose to go that route (two order as there are only 3 wings an order) but thankfully, they actually tossed the wings in the spice, which was perfect. But we really do wish that they would bring back the actual full order of the five spice chicken wings as that was his go to when we went there and because that's not on the menu it may decrease the amount of time we go back now because he doesn't really care for a lot of the other menu items. I got the five spice green beans, which is one of my favorite items on the menu. I was surprised to hear that they had taken it off the menu for a while and that they had just brought it back. so glad that they did because that was the whole reason we had traveled out there and had they not been on the menu. There's a good chance we probably would've found somewhere else. I also had the Po Po Lau curry because it is another one of my favorite dishes.

The drink was good with some spices, but instead of a craft ice, they just used regular crushed ice, making the drink a bit watered down. For my food, they sadly no longer had the duck noodles, so I tried the CKT noodles (15 dollars) instead. They mentioned it would have a smokey flavor from the wok preparation, which I enjoyed. However, the noodles were quite chewy. The meats included shrimp, pork sausage, and chicken. The chicken and shrimp were enjoyable, but the sausage could have used a bit of a punch. I was able to get some sambal for heat, but it lacked flavor and it was a bit gritty too. At least there was an ample amount such that I could take some home for the next day. My server was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was the same. I did enjoy the audible music and crowd, making the vibe nice. I would definitely come back if the bring the duck noodles again, and maybe try another drink next time too. Overall: B-

The restaurant itself isnt anything to write home about, there is seating and thats about it, but it gets the job done. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, white rice, noodle and cabbage. The chicken itself was nicely done, however the rice was a bit stiff and the noodles werent asian noodle, it was fettuccine noodles, which kind of threw me bc places normally use udon/lomein noodles. That being said the taste was good. No complaint on that. They gave a decent portion of each item, definitely not cheap about it. I didnt try any of the additional sauces, but even without it the food was good, though I see many reviews mentioning them. It was not busy when i went, maybe 4 customers but it was also mid day on a friday so im not sure of how busy they get. If you're not wanting to go to West Oaks to hit the Sakura, this is a solid choice for hibachi. Ill be back for the chicken and the rice, Im not sold on the noodles choice, so ill probably opt out on those, but overall affordable and tasty.
