Been here so many times. So so good!!! One amazing chef Worth the wait Loyal customers keep coming back The fresh quality, artistic beauty, and delicious flavors make this one of my favorite Sushi restaurants in all of California. If you're in a rush, go to Carl's Jr next door. This place is for people who understand that you can't rush art. Clean and consistent place Convenient location I am sure you will love it too

Have gone twice now the food quality, presentation, flavors are really delicious. Will definitely be going here more often.

Las Vegas roll. Advertised as Salmon, cream cheese avocado, but it's primarily imitation crab.

My husband says 2 stars for the Ramen but I enjoyed my sushi for the most part. Let's start sushi. Im a salmon fiend, I ordered 2 salmon rolls. There was a good amount of salmon in them but an excessive amount of rice. I tore off about half the rice from each roll. I also ordered the "Las Vegas Roll" which is advertised as "salmon, avocado, cream cheese, deep fried" that's literally my favorite fried roll combo so that's what I went for...so I get home and it's IMITATION CRAB with a small piece of salmon, sliver of avocado, and sliver of cream cheese. The roll was mostly imitation crab, which wasn't even listed as part of the roll. I try to avoid rolls with imitation crab so that was disappointing...but, it was deep fried so it still tasted good. Just not what I wanted or what I thought I ordered. Ramen. I told my husband the ramen isn't going to be amazing as it's not a legit ramen spot, but it had better reviews than the fried rice which was his second choice. He said it was a little better than top ramen, but we ordered beef with egg. There was very little beef and we were expecting a boiled egg as that is a traditional item we've received with ramen...but they put scrambled eggs in the ramen. We had a good laugh about that....I wish I took a picture lol. So yeah, the quality of the fish was on point. Very good. If you're going for straight up sushi, go for it. I'll probably try some of the no rice rolls in the future and just double check ingredients in the rolls in the future.

This is such a good spot that I visit any time I'm on a trip to the area. Pros: -Expansive menu with a lot of different types of dishes -Reasonable prices for rolls and main courses -Super friendly staff -Always fresh Cons: -Can get a little expensive if you go for Nigiri, but the quality is great

The sushi here is the best in town in terms of quality of fish and preparation for sure. Mark is a great sushi chef! I have the other things here like the fried rice, yakisoba, hot stone bowls. They're ok, but if you come here come for the sushi! I asked Mark to torch my nigiri and it made it so flavorful

Pretty decent sushi in Lompoc! Friendly staff and the sushi tastes fresh. My favorite is the inari, tamago, and creamy hamachi roll!

By the time we arrived around 25 minutes later, the food was ready for pick up, no need to wait. We tried the Baked Lobster Roll, it has imitation crab meat, crawfish, and avocado, topped with baked mozzarella. The crawfish tasted fresh, and the melted mozzarella added a creamy texture on top which was great. We also ordered the Chirashi, an assortment of sashimi served over a bed of rice. The salmon, tuna, and yellowtail were all fresh, and the food presentation was beautiful, with the sashimi arranged in a ring shape over the rice. (refer to my pics) Overall, a great takeout experience and great food.

I remembered the opening soon signs for Flare when we used to live by Ryon Park. Since we moved, I'd almost forgotten so I was excited to finally try their food. The staff that greeted and tended to us were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere has a hole-in-the-wall vibe with its intimate seating. The back tables have glowing lights like stars which was a nice touch. That being said, I feel like the interior could use some more color. Maybe some Japanese or Korean art would be cool. We started out with some milk tea. I ordered the tiger milk tea which was sweet with caramel and I added honey Boba. For the food, they have hot pots! A unique offering for the Lompoc area. The food at Flare is mostly Korean and Japanese inspired food with some California influences. Like the beef Bulgogi fries my husband ordered-- were bomb. They came with a spicy mayo like sauce that was a savory and sweet suprise. The saltiness of the beef and melted cheese-- ultimate comfort food. It would've been even better with avocado. I ordered a fusion rice bowl. At first I was skeptical about the sauce the shrimp came with. But after the first bite my mouth was bursting with flavor. Freshness from the sour cream mixed perfectly with the mildly spicy red sauce dressing the shrimp (no tails which I appreciated). Little bits of cilantro mixed into the warm jasmine rice balanced out the salty and savory shrimp. Add in the freshness of the crisp lettuce, pico de gallo and corn. Overall, it created a beautiful balanced dish I didn't know I needed; a meal that satisfied my soul. Next time we come I can't wait to try their hot pots! Highly recommend you check out Flare.
