    barnacle on baked muscle
    Sabreena P.

so i've been here before and had a bad experience but this time ive had it. i called in a to go order and the lady was SO NICE. i go into the the restaurant a little early because i wanted to add on an item. i ordered a 5pc sushi combo w the california roll. i asked the guy if i can add on. he said hold on let me check. disappears for almost 7 minutes. he comes back and says no there's no time to add on. we are still working on your sushi order though.... he never asked what i wanted to add which was a hand roll. i don't understand why i couldn't get an additional item when i had to wait another 10 minutes. (btw i wasnt trying to get it for free i wanted to pay). i get my order home and i have the wrong combo order. additionally my baked muscles were dirty there's a literal barnacle and hair on it still. so disappointed i will NEVER return even if they paid me.

The food was good, though the service could use a slight improvement. The ambiance combined Japanese and Korean influences, and the K-Pop music was really enjoyable.

Terrible service is an understatement. Kids that don't have a fucking clue working in there on their cell phones. Fucking up the order and then arguing with me! I grew up in LA eating sushi for over 35 years. How these places are in business is beyond me. I should have know right away that it was a mistake when I saw that the "sushi bar" was being used as a shelf for sake. So no sushi bar at this sushi bar.

Popcorn roll, tiger roll, aloha roll and one other. We also had the spicy edamame.

Sake Sushi is a bit short handed with 3 servers considering the number of tables, so service was average. It could use a little updating or a makeover and get rid of all the paper signs trying to promote different menu items. Sushi was good although some of the rolls were a bit big to pick up. I would try it again in the future.

Approved by Koreans. The best bibimbap. The service was great, and the atmosphere is fun.

Sake sushi ended up being our lunch gathering spot today since it was open on Sunday. When you walk in you can definitely feel the Japanese vibes. They have Japanese music videos playing and lighted cherry blossom trees hang from the ceiling. The waitress was very nice and attentive. For an appetizer we started off with the garlic edamame. It was okay. There was A LOT of oil and butter at the bottom of the bowl, so it was a little overwhelming. You absolutely cannot go wrong with their beef teriyaki. It is personally one of my favorite dishes here and it very aesthetically pleasing, along with the I love DH roll. The menu is huge, so you should definitely be able to find something you like. All in all, it is not the best spot for edamame, but it's a great spot for everything else. Come check it out.

Something wrong roll: Tempura shrimp, fried softshell crab, crab, salmon tuna masago

I came here for sushi not really expecting anything but the rolls were surprisingly amazing! We just got back from the beach near jalama and someone recommend this place. The portion was big for how much you get for rolls and sushi fish was fresh. By far the best soft shell crab roll I have tried and each bite, you can taste how well balanced the flavor it was and the different fish combination. Tempura and soft shell crab was crispy! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for rolls. I haven't tried the ramen or soup bowl but I saw people buying it and it looked good too.

I ordered the shrimp pho, cucumber salad, and spicy garlic edamame for takeout. When I got home, my meal was missing the noodles for my pho.

I use to recommend this place but the fish qaulity has gone down hill. I'm not sure if I'll give this place a try.

I was greeted with warm & caring welcome by Mary! Mary asked if everything in the bowl was ok. I ask for no egg which wasn't a problem at all. I ordered Shoyu Ramen with double pork belly with a sprite . I was happy to see Mary, Erica, kiko, and Gyzel again! It's a very warm and cozy to eat there . All the staff are always so kind & friendly. Their price points are great! Their dishes are very high & great quality! Their dishes are so delicious, savory and mouth watering! I didn't have to wait that long , they were on it! Mary & Gyzel always asked me if everything thing is ok, so sweet of them! I also bought another double pork belly shoyu ramen & 3 Chili Bomb Crunch to go. Their presentation of each dishes is beautiful & delicious at the same time! Mary & Gyzel were both so sweet, kind, genuine, caring, super down to earth! They both have very positive upbeat energy about themselves that really radiates! These two are your rarest Diamonds, their shine can never fade! I would love to Thank Kotori Ramen for my absolutely wonderful visit ! I would also especially love to thank Mary & Gyzel for my making my visit so memorable & beautiful!! I'll definitely be back again!! I'll tell all my family and friends to come visit !!

It's a relaxing and casual ramen shop that also offers sushi and rice bowls, so you get plenty of options! Their broth is cooked for 24 hours, so the flavors were deep and super creamy. They're also pretty generous with the protein! My husband ordered extra, as we assumed there might not be enough (our usual experience at other ramen shops), but we definitely did not need it! I was sad that I couldn't finish my bowl - I was already stuffed halfway through! The pork shoulder and pork belly were so tender and fell right apart. The staff were very nice, welcoming and provided quick service.

Loved the variety of the cuts including scallops and some other unique cuts that we didn't recognize. The way the rice was prepared was a standout too. I did find a fish scale in my bowl though which was unfortunate. - Lunch Special Salmon Roll + 5 Nigiri (4/5): Solid generously portioned fish on the rice, but nothing else wowed us. Still satisfied. Nigiri included Tuna salmon, amberjack, yellowtail, and golden eye snapper. Overall (5/5): Came here on Friday for lunch and was seated after a short 15 minute wait - it was a lot busier than we expected! The parking lot was pretty small and full so we had to find metered parking nearby as the nearby parking structure was also closed. The sushi felt super fresh and we loved the portion sizes - we were pretty impressed and we hope to return if we're ever in the area!

Wow! The flavors at Flare blew us away…read more My hubby and I were looking for a new place to try for our date night. I remembered the opening soon signs for Flare when we used to live by Ryon Park. Since we moved, I'd almost forgotten so I was excited to finally try their food. The staff that greeted and tended to us were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere has a hole-in-the-wall vibe with its intimate seating. The back tables have glowing lights like stars which was a nice touch. That being said, I feel like the interior could use some more color. Maybe some Japanese or Korean art would be cool. We started out with some milk tea. I ordered the tiger milk tea which was sweet with caramel and I added honey Boba. For the food, they have hot pots! A unique offering for the Lompoc area. The food at Flare is mostly Korean and Japanese inspired food with some California influences. Like the beef Bulgogi fries my husband ordered-- were bomb. They came with a spicy mayo like sauce that was a savory and sweet suprise. The saltiness of the beef and melted cheese-- ultimate comfort food. It would've been even better with avocado. I ordered a fusion rice bowl. At first I was skeptical about the sauce the shrimp came with. But after the first bite my mouth was bursting with flavor. Freshness from the sour cream mixed perfectly with the mildly spicy red sauce dressing the shrimp (no tails which I appreciated). Little bits of cilantro mixed into the warm jasmine rice balanced out the salty and savory shrimp. Add in the freshness of the crisp lettuce, pico de gallo and corn. Overall, it created a beautiful balanced dish I didn't know I needed; a meal that satisfied my soul. Next time we come I can't wait to try their hot pots! Highly recommend you check out Flare.
