One gripe I have is that there is a crowd meter on the Planet Fitness app that is supposed to indicate how crowded the gym is. For this location, I have never seen the meter go above a 3/10, even when the gym is packed. It's not an accurate indicator of what you're walking into, which can be frustrating. Why have the meter go all the way to 10 if it never goes above 3? Also, there is often equipment that is out of order, and it can take days or weeks to get fixed. That can be annoying, especially when there is only one of the equipment type. Overall, for the baseline membership it is not a bad space to work out. If I were going to the gym more regularly though, I might consider other options.

I like that they have a ski erg machine that's comparable to that used at the event. My favorite Y is the Weinberg location, and that one is different. They also have a rope, which is useful for training the shoulders/arms. It's just in an awkward place. When the roped is pulled out to full lenght for use I felt like I was in the way. I tried two different angles and both were the same. Oh well. Sorry, not sorry. It's a big Y! They've got several sections of weights, machines, cycling rooms and the..... I guess I'll call it, Crossfit room (which is small and a bit awkward, but it works). They have weighted bags for the lunges up to 40lbs. They also have plenty of (matching) kettlebells. AND, they have weighted balls for the ball toss. The only thing missing is the sled. You can go to the Weinberg Y for that. I like this Y as well. There's plenty of room, which is good because it's much more crowded (even mid-day) than my other Y's. I was also glad to see the staff cleaning the weight rack. I mean, not just wiping it down. They removed the weights, wiped down the rack where the weights were sitting, and place the weights back. They were also removing the scuffs from the wall with the magic eraser. No wonder it looks so clean. And of course I can always count on the fireplace to chill at after my workout. Come check it out.

The posted signage did not reflect the delayed schedule, and while staff observed me arriving with my child, this information was not proactively shared. I only learned of the adjusted hours after specifically asking. Clear and visible communication--especially on delayed start days--would help prevent confusion for families and improve the overall member experience. I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope it can be considered for future operations.

CrossFit Catonsville is very close to home, they have a great class schedule (especially for a smaller gym), and kickboxing and yoga are included in their membership! Chris, the owner and head coach, is awesome; I find that his style of coaching is very focused on technique and he has lots of suggestions on how to scale WODs with the goal of getting stronger, not just finishing a workout. I've already PR'd on several lifts in the past month at CFC. Eric and Susan are also fantastic coaches, and I've really benefitted from some of the pointers and suggestions they have made. As anyone who does CrossFit will tell you, the community aspect is what keeps folks coming back for more. The people here are AMAZING and friendly, and I have felt so welcome from the beginning. This is a great box for people who have been doing CrossFit for a while, and an excellent box for beginners. The prices are really fair, and, as previously mentioned, you have a few other options for how to get a good workout in with kickboxing and yoga!

Through competent trainers, a motivating program, and a group of awesome people (at all fitness levels) I have seen major gains. I feel well supported at Wonderfly and know that if I have a question the resources are there. This is a judgement free zone of positive, goal oriented individuals. Traditional gym never worked for me. I would spend more time figuring out my playlist than actually exercising. Here I show up ready to work and the trainers have a dummy proof workout lined up. I was told my account would be noted, but that I would not be allowed to use the gym until payment was made. I explained my situation several times, including that our back pay would be released soon, yet I was still denied access. It felt incredibly insensitive and discouraging to have to repeat my circumstances four different times just to ask for temporary understanding. I actually love Gold's Gym, which makes this experience especially disappointing. The gym has been my outlet during this stressful and emotional time, and to feel like I had to BEG to continue using it was truly disheartening. A little compassion and flexibility go a long way -- especially for loyal members going through situations beyond their control.

For those of you who are intimidated about going to a gym, I would recommend this place. The gym is never that busy and there's people from all different fitness stages that are here. The staff is friendly and so are the other gym goers. People here will gladly help you out if you ask. This location has just about everything that you need from cardio machines, free weights, and stationary equipment . I kind of wish the area with free weights was a little bigger so you don't feel like you're on top of each other but it's not that big of a deal. There are cubbies and unisex bathrooms and individual shower rooms. I believe the staff leaves around 5 but as long as you have a key fob, you can go get them gains 24/7!

It's surprisingly larger inside than it looks from the outside, and the front end of the gym features large windows that let in a ton of great natural light. The locker room layout is very practical, one side is dedicated to lockers, another to toilets, and the third to showers. I did notice a couple of damaged lockers, and the handicap shower is missing its handheld showerhead (which really should be fixed for those who rely on that accessibility option). The staff I interacted with were friendly, and it was great to see them connecting with the gym regulars. They were also actively cleaning and restocking while I was working out, which is always a huge plus. During this visit, I didn't come across a single broken machine while using the elliptical, dumbbells, cable strength machines, and leg press. Pro-tip: The ceiling fans here are incredibly powerful! If you want a strong breeze during your cardio, pick a machine right underneath one. If not, definitely choose one a little further away. Overall, the location is clean and well-maintained. I'll definitely be using this gym again when I'm in the area.

Another update! Back to report that the new configuration of spin class downstairs and mat classes…read more(like yoga, barre, and pilates) upstairs works very well. I've been loving Monday night spin classes with Zain - he is an incredible instructor with the best playlists. His class is some of the most fun I've had at a workout class. It feels more like dancing with a group of friends than working out. I bike about 10 miles in his 45 minute class which is something I just never thought I'd be capable of. I've also been enjoying Wednesday evening barre classes upstairs with Erin. This is a new class and I hope they keep it on the schedule! Erin is a great instructor who queues very clearly and makes the class feel fun with her high energy. As someone who primarily weight lifts, barre is such a refreshing challenge for me. I feel like I'm learning a whole new skill set in that class. For a bit, I was also liking the Thursday evening mat pilates class with Chi but they seemed to have taken it off the schedule now :( The weight training areas continue to be conducive for a great workout. My only wish would be that they replace some of the elliptical machines with treadmills. When the gym gets a little busy, it's easy for the treadmills to fill up pretty fast since there's about 8 treadmills total. Whereas, there's probably twice as many ellipticals and I don't think I've ever seen more than a few people using them at a time. I'm also not a huge fan of the fact that you now how to ask the front desk for a towel - this isn't something I've seen at any of the other locations. The bathrooms are a bit outdated and could use some updating as well.
