Honestly kinda of yes or no. Because when getting a loan is good ,the other etc things they offer is NO. IT took them 3 or 4 weeks to find me a car at the end I found it myself. Reason I am UNHAPPY WITH them is because I had a few hundred $$$ just because no activity I was told the acct will be closing unless I fill out a form. Which I did waited 4 days then nobody knows anything . I get a call from B LADY claiming she doesn't know anything about the acct and the money will be going to the state, I ask her why no activity. Ok I filled out a form well the to whom well I don't see anything according to her . UNTILL I GAVE THEN MY PIECE OF MIND, THEY decided to mail me a ck. They have been saying for YEARS that Zelle will be offered for business accounts. This is total garbage, they still do not offer it. The app never works, always giving errors. Going to have to switch banks which is such a pain in the butt just to get a working app and to find one that offers Zelle. read more

One of the worst credit unions to ever be created. Stay away from this place if you are thinking about setting up a new loan, account or anything finance related. They messed up on our initial accounts, causing a back and forth that lasted about 2 weeks and looked like fraud attempts. They then spammed our emails for a mistake they made, that only got caught because of an audit they were under. Yikes! They also quote 2 different APR percentages. One over the phone, and another when you get to the bank to sign the paperwork (AFTER they run your credit). Horrible banking practices. They also charge for payments made via phone calls for car payments as well. Next they change their app, which you have to go and reset everything without letting you know. They claim that you should know "through our social advertising". And finally, they have no real support for any after hours issues. They are only open during regular hours, and closed on saturdays. I made the poor decision of going through a car loan with them, do not make the same mistake as me. read more

Their on-line banking and app are constantly down --at the same time! It's so frustrating because it happens all the time. You try to reach their number during off-hours to see if there's a message noting that they are experiencing issues, and there's a recording noting that the number is no longer in service. Awful way to conduct businesses. Wow! You're frustrated too?! Just a thought --perhaps you shouldn't run your website/on-line banking and phones with the same provider. read more

I have been a member of this credit union for over 10 years. On July 14th, my entire wallet was stolen while dining in a restaurant. Within an hour, the criminals used my UMe debit card to run two transactions totaling over $4300. I filed a police report and had a detective on the case before anyone at UMe would even speak to me about the fraudulent transactions. They closed my checking account and denied my case stating that I violated the member agreement by leaving my card unattended while dining. I provided documented proof as well as contacts to support that I never left my card, which was inside my wallet, inside my backpack, unattended or in an unsafe location. I have filed a case with the National Credit Union Association whom are investigating my case further. BEWARE of this organization. I am a victim of fraud and theft but rather than help me try to dispute the fraud that happened as a result of being a victim of theft; they, specifically Dawn Smith (the Collections Representative), have treated me like the criminal. They refuse to assist me in getting my money back and continue to deny me the ability to make deposits into my account whist continuing to return my auto payments and charge overdraft fees to my account. read more

Love everything about UME - service, atmosphere, availability - except its website. Buggy and incompatible with Firefox/Safari, umecreditunion.com allows Google Analytics and third-party cookies to track your every movement online - even after you leave! Try to block either, and you won't be able to print a statement, search prior transactions, and any number of other functions you expect from a bank's website. I now have to open UME in a separate browser to ensure my browing history isn't being shared with other entities so they can spam me. C'mon UME, it's 2022. Customers are tired of Google and others putting their personal info up for sale! read more

I am very pleased with the UMe Credit Union. I have been able to repair my credit. Chase would not help me with that! Chase just takes as much money as they can get from people. At UMe, they are professional, good with customers and willing to solve problems immediately. The only strange thing is going on this weekend. I have been emailed and had phone calls about 1.08 cents being a fraudulent purchase on my card. There is a number that is called the FRAUD DEPT. but it seems strange I've been contacted about 4 times vial email, phone and text. I checked the number from my landline and it does answer the FRAUD Line, but the system is automatic and if I have to verify information, I am not going to do it via an entity I do not know. Scams happen every day. I'll call UMe as soon as they open on Monday and I know they will resolve the issue! The only downside is you cannot make contact with UMe over the weekend once they close on Friday. I started getting the FRAUD notifications Friday evening! read more

I used UMe to open my business bank account as they are convenient to the area I normally do business in and they didn't have a bunch of extra fees like the "big banks". I highly recommend them as they are easy to use and everyone I've worked with is friendly and helpful plus I haven't had long wait times when I've had to go in person. The only thing is that I wasn't able to get an actual business credit card through them (debit card OK) so I will have to use a third party service for that, but not a huge deal. My family has banked with the credit union for quite sometime and whenever I come it's always a good experience. I haven't gone in person since just recently due to COVID but since this last visit, I'm EXCITED to go just to even make a small deposit. Plenty has changed but in such a good way...they have a new girl named Wednesday at the Teller Area whose such a breath of fresh air. Spunkiest fashionista that's kind, is a way to describe.It felt good seeing a warm and welcoming smile after faces being covered for so long& Wednesday gave me a boost of serotonin! Having service that goes above and beyond at somewhere I just expect to be efficient is refreshing. Not your average banking everybody is always caring and that's where I care to keep my finances. I switched over to UMe about five years ago from Chase and I'll never look back. I was sick of paying fees to Chase every month just to keep a checking account with them. There is no monthly fee from UMe. Anyone you talk to on the phone is at the Burbank location. There's no call center and having to talk to three different people to get a resolution if you need one. Also, Chase wouldn't take my change to deposit into my account. They wanted me to roll all of my loose change myself. Back in the day, the bank would just do that for you if you had an account with them. At UMe, they take my change and deposit it. Everyone is very friendly and they provide free coffee on your visit. Stop supporting the Big Banks, the huge bonuses they give their CEOs who keep on slapping on those unnecessary fees, and support your local credit union! read more

I was not going to write a review on my recent experience with UMe credit union but honest I am not happy with the way I was treated by Anna. Anna kept giving me the run around regarding a loan that I applied for a couple of weeks ago. My credit is not the best but I gave it a try since I am having trouble on a couple of my bills. She took my information and told me that she would call me back. 1 week went by and I called to follow up. She made me feel like I was lying about my job and how I get paid. She then told me that she was waiting on me to send her my paystubs. She said that she thought she told me to send my most recent paystubs but she didn't. I sent her my paystubs following day via email. I feel like she was just not interested in helping me. Not communicating with me unless I reached out. I called just to confirm that she received my email. She just brushed me off and said "yea if I need anything else I will call you" basically not to call her. 1 week later she calls and says to me " unfortunately the loan is denied have a good day." I was purchasing a car and I had a tough time with the person handling my loan that I had a pre approval for. Very nice guy but bad miscommunication and in the end I was denied. I emailed another Associate I worked with in the past Robert just to let him know my experience and he called me immediately and crunched numbers and within 1 day he was able to get me the car loan. He was so patient and kind and really listened to me and did all he could for making this purchase happen. I know the other person probably lacked experience however I am certain with this experience he will have learned a lot. Robert will be the only person I go to for ALL my Credit Union needs. If you want a great experience ask for Robert and if he can't help you, he will definitely be the best place to start. read more

I have been wanting to write a review for UME but I kept waiting and waiting. I was referred to this cu by a family friend who banks here. I work at a cu but don't want to expose my business and my info to everyone. I thought about joining a smaller cu thinking that they are better and more customer oriented. Well, I have applied for a loan here a year ago and was denied. I have very good credit so don't really know what their criterias are for approving a loan. Anyway I ended up going to California CU and they approved me right away. They didnt even require me to have a co signer unlike you guys. And you didnt counter offer me as well. I love this bank. I opened a joint account and it has everything we could ask for. I'm about to open my own account and refinance my motorcycle. They really take care of their customers really well and have great deals on accounts. I love how we are technically "part owners" because your money goes back into investing in the bank instead of filling the pockets of stock owners and such! UMe is the best! I've been a member since May of 2012 and have always had great service. Friendly people and very attentive. Love the colorful and hip vibe of the building. I even got a great interest rate for my car loan. Liz, Marie, Judy, and Evelyn are always a pleasure to interact with. Even though I recently moved to Norfolk, VA, I still have my account with UMe. I miss going in there on a weekly basis and attending the fun events they have periodically....and the free coffee. :) I hope I can find a credit union just as good over here on the East coast because I'm not a fan of the major big banks. I've never been so pleased with a bank before. I've heard so many issues with places like Well's Fargo, Chase, Bank Of America and others. I'm gladly staying with this bank and trusting them with all my Loan & Money needs. Staff is extremely friendly Staff is direct and helpful Staff is always ready to help Loans are simple and come with simple interest. Depositing mobile and through atm is a little annoying with the holds but retrospectively, everything else makes up for it as I know my finances are safe with them! I love banking here. I've been a UMe member now for about 11 months, and have been referring people to switch to them ever since. After leaving a large, technology driven, fruit company as the supervisor for the "Brilliant Table," I'm now a stay-at-home parent, full-time student who doesn't have a lot of his own income. As such, Chase was feeing me constantly making it difficult to stay ahead. Upon seeing UMe's media collection drive for our troops overseas a couple of years back, I kept them in my radar as a good company to do business with. We donated my entire DVD collection to them back when, and I was very proud to do so. Fast forward to last March, I paid my last fee to Chase, opening up my new account with a small deposit with UMe through the wonderful Gisele. And I've never looked back. Ever since, banking here has been an absolute pleasure. I rarely ever need to step into a branch. And when I do, the staff is so welcoming and accommodating. Not only that, but they look happy to be there. That's a huge positive from my many experiences in the Chases, Wells Fargo's, and Bank of America's in the world. Happy employees = happy customers, in my opinion. However, if there's one thing I could suggest UMe do better is to have a supervisor on the floor directing traffic. And what I mean by that is to get people out of the line who don't need to be standing in it. For example, "you have a simple, single check deposit?" Direct them to an available seated customer service rep to get them out. "You need rolls of quarters and have a $20? I'll get that for you quickly." "You have cash to deposit? You're in the right light and it shouldn't take long to get you moving." Despite the friendliness of the staff, sometimes customers can get excessively chatty holding up the line for others with no more business to conduct. So suggestions and statements like these help move the line along, bettering the overall customer experience. Because, right now, the line is simply a silent queue with no communication, entertainment, or connections. This could be a better experience if they really want it to be. But that's not making or breaking this institution right now. Gain, just down the street, has the exact same challenge. Anyway, I do love UMe and couldn't be more grateful to do my business with them. My feedback for improvement took up probably too much space here and I'll gladly delete that suggestion (as well as this comment) as soon as I see it in practice.
