VERY inconsistent. Expect the long wait for your orders even when its not a busy day. I still order drinks/snacks sometimes but i know i will have to wait around 20-30mins and i know i have a spare time to kill But this time it takes the cake!. Order a drink, 2 snacks and a bento box. Ordered it at 4pm; drink was ready at 4:09pm BUT we got our foods at 4:56pm. A whole hour for our order; whatever. What really blew my mind is that; we waited a whole hour for the foods BUT when we get our foods its already COLD. All of them. Barely even warm. We asked 3 times for our order and each time we are told its not ready yet.... We ended up taking the food home and heat it up at home. Did not want to talk to the worker since theres like 5 other people waiting on their orders and they all look frustrated. If you want something from there either you should order it wayyyy ahead or you know you have time to spare. Sometimes the snack came out really good sometimes its mehhh; the drinks are ok. But for sure its NOT worth the 30min-1hour wait. Plenty of boba option in that area. But seems like a lot of people like this place so take my words with a grain of salt and you do you! :) read more

The drinks and snacks are great just like all the other Ume's, however the time it takes for them to complete an order is ridiculously long. Three separate times it took about 30-45mins to get 2 drinks and 1 snack. The whole store and even outside the store is always filled with people waiting. Would recommend a different Ume location if you would like to get your order within 45mins of ordering. read more

1. Order online here! wait times are long 2. Try the blossom latte milk tea 50% sweet ! Molly tea dupe !! Their house black milk tea 30% sweet is also good. Fried tofu is also good but don't get the spicy powder it ruins the flavor Ambiance is nice but not a lot of place to sit. This place has surpassed happy lemon for me and I loveee happy lemon ! and i lovee ume! read more

weekend visit after lunch...short line to the kiosk to place orders...not a lot of options for caffeine-free drinks...taking brown sugar boba fresh milk...taking medium (regular size) light on ice...less sweet...paying $5.80...wait to order is short, but wait for the drink to come out is long...must have patience which the children did not...drinks eventually came out and children approved...area is closed off to cars, so kids are free to drink and rampage around the streets... read more

Ordered via kiosk. Drinks were ready about 5-10mins later. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The grapefruit green tea 30% (added aloe) was very tasty! Everyone else enjoyed their drink but said it was on the sweet side (especially the strawberry milk at 30% sweet). read more

Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 3/5** I came on a Saturday afternoon and was just 1 of 2 customers waiting in the store, but it took about 20 minutes for me to get my order. **Price & portion, 4/5** The snack size mini fried octopus was $9.95, which felt just barely worth it, but after tax and tip, felt overpriced. **Taste of the food, 5/5** So good! The octopus are breaded in a crispy coating and perfectly seasoned -- I might like this more than popcorn chicken because of the crunch and chew. Stopped on through here last month to quench my thirst and also decided to pick up some Popcorn Chicken before my dinner on a decent weather Saturday afternoon in February. Ume Tea is located on Castro street where you have to navigate around the hustle and bustle of many people taking a stroll or looking for food and drink like I was. The inside of the store is let's say very kid friendly and also friendly for the big kid in adults. Ordering was done by the touchscreen kiosk and the line on this day was at least 4 people ahead of me. Once I ordered, I hung back by some colorful decorations. I ordered their White Peach Oolong Milk Tea and a Popcorn Chicken. The milk tea wasn't too sweet as I ordered it at 50% sweetness and the Popcorn Chicken was actually good with not too much breading and lots of juicy chicken underneath. I'm a fan of the popcorn chicken. I was lucky and found a table as some people were leaving, and I happened to just start looking around for a seat at the very same moment. There is limited seating however. read more

Cute fruit tea/boba shop. Found while walking off our dinner in downtown Mountain View. Love the vibe here! Also love that there are two ordering stations. Still, had to wait a while to order as the girls were taking so long giggling at the cute menu options. Lol. We got to the shop about 30 minutes before closing. Once we ordered we waited about 15 minutes for our drinks. On all fairness, the shop was packed with some people even waiting outside for their drinks. We were fortunate to snag a table inside. Almost as soon as we got our drinks, maybe 5 minutes later, the worker made an announcement that the shop was closed while thanking us for our business. I didn't even have time to notice that the lychee jelly that I had added and paid extra for was NOT in my cup until after the store closed. As far as the drink, even tho I ordered my lychee and watermelon drink less sweet at just 25pct sweet, it was wayyy to sugary for me. I had to wait until I got to the car to mix my no sugar iced tea into drink to make it drinkable. Will order 0 pct sweet in future. One of my friends mentioned his was way too sweet also. So be warned. Like that Ume Tea has a rewards program AND multiple locations across the state. Will be back for more fun drinks and great company! read more

Order online! I thought there was going to be a wait on a Sunday afternoon, so I ordered 20 minutes before I got there. I arrived and my drink was already made. The interiors were cute and they have great merch options. I got the lychee and watermelon green tea. I was a bit turned off by a black watermelon seed floating in there but I took it out and thoroughly enjoyed the drink! They have their sugar levels and topping amounts spot on. 30% wasn't too sweet and was still refreshing! read more

The drinks here are refreshing and delicious! Castro street is always hustling and bustling, but the fact that you can mobile order ahead of time makes this shop (as well as some others!) a great option when you just want to stroll along the street with a fun, delicious & cute drink in hand! I love their photo op statues as well, fun to snap a memory when you go with friends! Oh and wabbits??? I love them!!! Can't wait to visit again! Stopped by on a Friday evening around 8pm. Wasn't too crowded when I first walked in, only about 5 people inside. By the time I left, it was super crowded. We placed order on kiosk: brown sugar boba milk and mango pomelo sago. I've had their drinks at the Milpitas, Cupertino, Palo Alto, and Las Vegas locations and the experience has all been pretty much the same. The mango pomelo sago tasted fresh and had good sweet flavor. One thing was that the drinks took a while to come out. Took almost 30 minutes for the drinks to be made. 7/18/24. Around 2 pm The interior was super cute. Love the design. Very spacious with seatings. Ordered a milk tea with taro and boba large (~6.5?). At first i didn't now that we needed to select a sugar level so I had no sugar. I went back and asked the employee to add the regular sugar 100% in and it became wayyyyy to sweet. Maybe because of the boba and taro was already sweet but that was unexpected. They did give quiet a lot of boba and taro which was nice. I love visiting this location for Ume Tea. They have lots of seating both inside and outside. The people at the counter and really helpful and friendly. There is also, the option to use a kiosk. There are lots of photo opps to get cute pictures. They have so many items on the menu from good curly fries, chicken strips, popcorn chicken etc. I really liked all the selections of drinks. We ordered the strawberry yogurt slushie, the ube milk tea with pudding and the strawberry matcha with a scoop of matcha ice cream. Everything tasted so good! I also, love all the merch for sale they have several reusable cups, bags and even cute plushie key chains. I will definitely return and will recommend this place. I've been to other Umes in the Bay Area but this was my first time at the Mountain View location. We arrived at around 9pm on a Saturday and they seemed pretty disorganized. They had run out of milk (??) but it wasn't clearly communicated to customers ordering via the kiosk. We didn't order any milk drinks so it didn't affect me but I saw them calling up customers after 5-10 mins to ask them to change their order. They also seemed to be well staffed but they appeared to be overwhelmed. Our 2 drinks ended up taking around 20 mins which was longer than the quoted time. The grapefruit green tea was refreshing as usual. I decided to try the green tea jelly which was nice but I felt like charging $0.80 was steep. The mango sago was just okay - mango was more tart than sweet. read more

Original Popcorn Chicken - never received order I ordered popcorn chicken using their kiosk. I received a text confirming the order was in-progress immediately afterwards. I received a text 25 minutes later saying my order was ready. I proceeded to the front counter - no one working the front counter. About 5 minutes later a gentleman appeared, I asked to him "I received a text message that my order is ready, #107474. What's your name - I gave him my name", "Not ready yet", reserving 30 minutes for an order of popcorn chicken is definitely enough time. They weren't that busy - I had to leave to take my daughter to her music lesson down the street. I never picked up my popcorn chicken. read more

Visited after an early dinner with my husband and toddler. There is still quite a bit of a wait for drinks here, so that hasn't changed much. My toddler doesn't have much patience but he did enjoy playing with the giant rabbit, and the nice staff gave him a little bunny keychain to play with. That helped with keeping him distracted while we waited for our drinks. The music was upbeat so it helped us get my baby into a little dance too (although I can't say it was my type of music). So I got Brown Sugar Boba Premium Oolong Milk Tea 大红袍奶茶 and I convinced my husband to order Mango Melon Breeze 芒果西西. I think my oolong drink was good, except even at 15% sweetness it's way too sweet. When it's too sweet, I can't taste the tea... The tapioca itself was decent. the Mango Melon drink was interesting. We had to take a second look when we saw it was mango and WATERMELON. It definitely grew on us over time; to me, it started off mango, then watermelon, and then durian (without the smell of course). Somehow the name doesn't really do the flavor justice -- it's an interesting combination. Also, note to self to pick no ice. Light ice is still too much ice. :/ read more

Perfect after-dinner treat spot on Castro St. Lively decor, lots of cute stuff and stuffed bunnies for sale. You order at a kiosk, which is slow because people are looking over all their options (-1*). However, the drinks are great, the prices and service are good and there are nice benches to enjoy your boba. If they had a person taking orders (which would be much faster) it would definitely be a 5*. Still, a great place for boba. read more

The decorations here looks so cute. The workers here are nice and friendly. The drinks here are good and tasty. The surprise plushies are a waste of money because your drink is small. You can literally take the drink cup out and you will see the plushies without opening the bottom. You have to pay extra for the plushies and you might not get what you want. read more

Dear lord. Don't come here if you are expecting to get your drink/food within 10-15 min like most milk tea places. Try 45 minutes to an hour's wait for two fruit teas and an order of popcorn chicken and fried mushroom. That is way too long of a wait. I can maybe understand if it were a one time thing, but this is the second time this has happened now. And to add insult to injury, the mushrooms were cold. Really?? I was hungry, and I thought I'd get something quick but tasty, and I ended up with nothing. I ended up asking for a refund because I did not want to wait an additional 45 minutes for food. They only refunded me for the food. What about the time I spent waiting??? Ume, you need to staff up or post expected wait times somewhere so people know whether they can afford to wait for your food/drink or not. I like their tea and food, which is why I gave them another chance after this happened the first time, but after this second time? Forget it. I'll find another milk tea place on Castro to give my money. read more

Sometimes you'll get stuck in the super small lot because someone isn't even in a spot -- they just have their car parked with the hazards on while they run in to pick up their drink. Other times, cars are waiting and signaling for a parking spot while other cars are on standby waiting for people to leave after grabbing their drinks. The gas station behind the shop clearly got tired of it too because they put up a bunch of signs saying they'll tow if you park there just to visit Molly Tea. I highly recommend parking down the street near the apartment sidewalks or across the street and taking a little stroll to the store instead. Honestly, it just showed me that no matter how tiny the lot was, people still made the effort to slide through for drank.
