This was maybe the best fruit tea I have tried - I ordered 0% sweet pineapple green tea. It tasted perfectly (I like drinks less sweet), refreshing, and natural fruit. So when I happened to be on the Stanford campus the other day, I made my way over to this location and was hoping to order the same beverage. The matcha was mostly watered down and there was very little brown sugar taste in general. Thr boba itself was fine -- not too chewy and not soggy either. But overall, this was a very disappointing $9.78 beverage! Staff were not friendly -- did not bother to greet as I walked in, and mind you, this is a very small shop. You would know when someone walks in and stands there to place their own order on the monitors. What's so hard about saying, "Welcome! Thanks for coming in"?! When we came to pick up our order, we went inside the store, which was incredibly small. There is enough room to wait inside, but only for a handful of people. I came to this location for the second time. It seems to be a hit or miss based on the reviews that I read and on my experience. I came on a Sunday afternoon. There was one kiosk outside that you use to order. I overheard that you may be able to order online? I will say the wait to order is obviously very dependent on how long the people in front of you take to order, so the line can end up fairly long. This time, I ordered the black tea latte with taro balls and boba. I felt like the first time I had this place, it had a pretty good tea flavor. This time around, the drink definitely tasted more watery (and that was with less ice too). Both times, I would say that the drinks were sweet. The first time I went with 50% sweet, which was too much for my personal preference. This time I did less, and although it wasn't overwhelming sweet, all I could really taste was sweet and watery. This place is overpriced, nothing special, doesn't have everything on the menu that's advertised on their site, was sold out of a lot of things on the afternoon I visited, and is nothing but a pretty storefront masking the fact that entire place is purely transactional, with the only human interaction being when the less-than-enthusiastic barista pushes your drink across the counter, calls your name, and then ignores you when you say thank you. I was checking out the menu online at my table next door at Taro San toward the end of my meal, thinking that boba sounded like a nice follow-up to a bowl of udon. I decided on my drink, walked next door, and really appreciated the decor on the inside, which is meant to look like an old-fashioned tea shop. Then I noticed the one kiosk in the corner (why there's only one is beyond me) and realized that's where I was supposed to place my order. After scrolling through endless drink options, many of which were sold out, I realized they didn't have the drink I wanted that they advertised on their site. Disappointed, I went with the guava oolong with 30% sweetness and boba. The drink came out to just shy of eight bucks and was incredibly light on flavor. It tasted very watered down, with a barely perceptible guava flavor somewhere in there. Waste of money and time, total ripoff. As of the time of writing, their website is down, too, so I can't even reference the name of the drink I originally went in there for. No interest in returning here, no matter how nice it looks inside and out. They also need to consider adding a second kiosk, since human interaction is apparently out of the question. The line builds and backs up really quickly in there, especially if a first-time guest (or party) is ordering and slowly scrolling through every drink and option. Luckily I walked in and ordered before the rush behind me came in, but it's terrible service on top of already mediocre drinks. read more

I preferred the regular boba because of its chewier texture. The hot boba was comforting, and I'll definitely be coming back. We ordered from the kiosk outside, but we weren't notified when our drinks were ready. We only found out after going inside to check. This was our first time venturing out to this particular Boba shop and since their tea was from a particular place, we had actually visited in Taiwan. I got their grass jelly milk tea and it just reminded me of HK black milk teas. Its got high quality taste and did not live down the expectations or the price of the tea. However, it is on the pricery side and the wait for the drinks can be up to 10-15 minutes especially on the weekends. We ended up waiting longer than what an average wait time is for two drinks. None the less they were both good and I would definitely come again. Although, the inside is quiet small and can be difficult to navigate if you order and decide to wait for your drink. They have a big number sign that calls out the order but you can't really hear it outside if there are a bunch of people gathered inside. I did find a sign that I saw was hilarious.
