Feng Cha has become one of my go-to boba spots, and I'm glad that this new location in Mountain View opened up. To start with, the Cookies & Cream Milk Tea is one of my favorite drinks from any bubble tea shop. The tea, foam, and Oreo come together so well. I also like the boba, as it has good texture and the right amount of flavor. I'm not a usual fruit tea drinker, but the Summer Melon's blend of oolong tea, watermelon, and lemon juice was very refreshing after a hot day. Feng Cha also has fun seasonals, and unlike other chains they are not afraid of chocolate! In the fall I enjoyed the Dirty Chai's blend of chai and milk; in the cold months, the Tea Cocoa and Pretzel Cocoa are appreciated twists on the standard hot cocoa. A note on sugar: the drinks seem to lean on the sweeter side, so while I can tolerate 75-100%, most people might prefer 50% or less. Other than the drinks, I like the clean but still natural aesthetic of the store, and the service is pretty smooth. Surprised at how much more yellow the oolong is in comparison to the green tea. My drink was okay, even at 50% I found it bery sweet. The sweetness reminds me of the tea at those high tea parlors (my experience Lisa's tea) which is pretty unique. Thought I'd give feng cha a chance since it is fairly new to the plaza. I heard good thing about Feng Cha before and I was in the area today so I thought I'd give it a try. I've also been craving for Porto's ube matcha latte so I went for this drink once I saw it on the menu. Bad idea... Ordered it cold with 75% sweetness but it tasted Ike 135% to me. The drink was almost immediately ready after I placed the online order, I already knew that's not a good sign. It has a very strong powdery matcha taste (not in a good way) and a very strong artificial ube taste. It is nothing fresh nor refreshing like the one I had from Porto's before and it was just so sweet and nasty. $8.25 down the drain...Now I will think twice before ordering ube drink again. read more

i've been to feng cha a couple times because they have four seasons tea (and it's pretty hard to find in the bay area). i got the four seasons cheese foam tea with boba and the four seasons milk tea with boba. their tea flavor is on the lighter side. i much preferred the cheese foam tea than the milk tea (milk tea tasted a bit watered down). service is fast, you can also order online and pick up in store. there's a lot of indoor seating. read more

The first sip of Feng Cha's tea met all of those! We were really surprised to stumble to into their soft opening this week while we were in this busy Mountain View plaza after seeing their banner up! Interior is modern and clean with a white and green aesthetic with a good amount of seating. Menu has standard milk and fruit teas with a nice touch that you can make any of their fruit teas non caffeinated with a sparking water base sub. They have a current promotion for 20% off during their soft opening and their grand opening is this weekend (8/17/2024) with the first 50 drinks free and the rest are BOGO - which is great deal. Service was also kind and friendly, they explained parts of their menu and offered helpful recommendations. Only (very) minor nit picks would be to note any of the "Pure Teas" can be made into a milk tea and fall under the "Classic" Milk Tea option - which was slightly confusing to me but not a huge deal. I wish they gave just a tad more boba since it was honestly so deliciously chewy that I ended up finishing it all before my tea but maybe that's just me . This boba place just opened by my gym. I decided to try the soft opening. I ordered the bursting dragonfruit with 25% sweet, salted crème foam, and crystal boba. Delicious and refreshing! Very confusing and the staff was very limited in their ability to properly articulate in the English language. I wanted a drink with fresh (not powder) taro. They stated they had fresh taro but stated I would need to order a dirty taro tea. But then he said there was no fresh taro and that I would need to order a milk tea. Post covid this part of the strip mall has changed quite a bit and along the same building you can decent Mexican, Pizza (one of the few things that didn't change), Burgers and Açaí bowls. Notch a tea place into the fold. The former Sweet Tomatoes complex is unrecognizable. Probably for the better. This cafe is mostly stark white with some accents of photos and sone foliage. Soft open for now and they'll expand them soon. The bonus as an oolong lover there are at least 5 different oolong choices. read more

I don't usually do boba drinks, but on an unusually nice spring afternoon, I felt like a tea drink, so I stopped in Feng Cha. Order ahead is available or via tablets, but they do take orders at the counter, as well (for cash payments). I got the taro tea latte, with taro powder and green tea. Oat milk is available for $1 extra. It was pretty well balanced at 25% sweetness, and you could actually taste the tea, which was nice. I didn't opt for any toppings or foams, but they have various interesting foam toppings available. They have 6 tables for 2-4 people, and there's free WiFi. They also have a clean bathroom! I get that it's new, but this Feng Cha has a long way to go if it's going to survive among its many competitors. We ordered one Oreo milk tea at the "card payment" self-service kiosk. Quoted wait time was 10 minutes. The drink actually took more than 20 minutes, and there were some concerning sights during that considerable delay. I'll start with what I will assume was a botched drink. An employee used a knife to cut open the heat-sealed lid of a drink. She picked the cut lid out of the cup--at this point, fingers are IN THE DRINK, and the call should be to scrap it and start over. Instead, she just poured off about a half inch of the drink and refilled it from a white pitcher (forgotten crema, I guess?). Then it was back to peeling the rest of the lid off the rim of the cup, and closing it up again. Was relieved to find out it wasn't our drink. Then there was the matter of the overhead tea dispensers. They're large and rectangular, with spigots to dispense the tea. An employee went to fill a cup with tea, only to find that the dispenser was nearly empty. Naturally, her reaction was to tip the dispenser toward herself, to coax the last of the drink out of the spigot. But again, it's situated ABOVE HER HEAD. ("Really? Right in front of my OSHA handbook?") Also unclear what her plan was even in the best case that there was enough tea for that drink... you still need another dispenser full of tea, or the next person is again trying to get water from the rock. Eventually we received our Oreo milk tea, which had a hot drink lid for some reason. Cost was okay, around $6 plus tip. My wife thought the Oreo was too gritty (though I kind of figure that's expected with an Oreo drink?). We both felt it needed more Oreo flavor. I've ordered the ginger milk tea several times before and loved it but this time it came out a little sour so I was worried there was a ingredient gone bad, but the employee here said they switched up the ginger brand or something so there's a citrus taste to it but that mixed with the ginger didn't work for me.
