A friend suggested we come here bc of their excellent reviews! I agreed bc we were passing by anyway, though the view at night from the parking lot did not, shall we say, set expectations high. Well, joke's on me, bc this is a perfectly fine boba spot! It's not fancy but it's clean, the Indian guy and the Hispanic girl we met were both unusually nice. The drinks are great! -- just like you'd find in a place that charges 30% more. What else is there to say? It's a bit sweeter than I personally prefer, but not hugely sweet. The taro smoothie (pictured with my own steel straw, which I prefer) tastes like it's made from the standard mix that Chinese boba shops use, and the ice is appropriately fine-grained. My friend's red guava tea was very good -- honestly I preferred it to the taro drink I chose, and to the last red guava drink I had which tasted a bit chemical, which this did not! But the best drink of all was the mango frozen slushie sample we were offered -- next time! I will happily come again the next time I pass by. It's only 15-20 min away, meaning there's a couple dozen shops closer to me. But this is a fine shop run by very welcoming people. Stop by if you're close! read more

408 Boba showed up in the Too Good To Go app and I had to Yelp it to make sure it's a real store. I was pleasantly surprised by the rating, so decided to give it a try. At 8:30pm when we approached the plaza, I had a thought that maybe it's not the area a boba place should be. In fact, it's located inside a convenience/liquor store. The menu is mostly focusing on slushy and tea, not a lot of milk tea choices. Compared to all the cute boba places and their creative menu, this place has nothing to match to that standard. For TGTO pick up, the service was quite nice. I was a bit skeptical at first as two Indian or middle east looking men fumbled at the back kitchen a bit and an old Indian man came to help. He was very friendly and gave me a bag that had 4 drinks filled inside. All for $6.99! He wished me good night and told me each drink had a small note at the bottom of the bottles with the flavors hand written on. I appreciated the effort. I got 3 different flavors of tea and 1 taro milk tea. The taro milk tea tasted just like a thick liquid. Having been spoiled by real mashed taro inside creamy milk, I found this drink just ok. The 3 flavor teas are lychee flavored jasmine green tea, red guava flavored black tea with grass jelly, and grapefruit flavored jasmine green tea with brown sugar boba. They are just syrupy tea with the texture thickened by the sugar flavor syrups. I think for tea with sugar syrup, $6.99 for 4 isn't too bad for their margin recovery. read more

We went here to drop off an item for HubOn. We left with 3 large bobas. You may as for a sample if you're undecided. We sampled the mango, strawberry-banana, and fresh coconut. All were great and we may just have found our new go-to. It's so rare to find mango that's sweet but this store has them. Will try out other flavors next time. read more

DRINKS * Coconut Thai Latte with boba and less sugar: -- I was excited to learn that fresh young coconut juice is used to make this drink and that they recently improved the drink making process. However, I was disappointed with the taste. The ratio of Thai tea to young coconut juice was off, and I could hardly taste any Thai tea at all. While I appreciate the use of fresh juice, the flavor didn't work for me. * Banana Black Sesame:This drink tasted better than the Thai tea, with banana and black sesame flavors. New boba shop alert! Extremely friendly worker at the front, and delicious drinks! They also sell some baked goods like donuts. A bit unassuming given that they newly opened 2 weeks ago and are still getting things in order, like getting a sign xD... Saw a new option on Too Good To Go nearby and decided to give them a try. My partner and I got to try 4 different drinks and was unable to customize anything, and was pleasantly surprised and liked all the drinks overall! Also appreciated that they labeled all the drinks! Note that I typically like to customize my boba/fruity drinks to less than 50% sweetness usually, but here are my thoughts!: Lychee Jasmine Tea w Lychee Jelly and Popping Boba - this was our favorite. Definitely sweet but I enjoyed it a lot because the jasmine and lychee flavors were both strong and I love a strong jasmine tea. The lychee jelly and popping boba paired super well with the drink overall. Black Milk Tea with brown sugar boba - The black tea could be a little stronger (I like my milk tea with stronger tea taste typically). I've had blander black milk teas and this was only lighter but was still enjoyable. The brown sugar taste wasn't super strong, unsure if they intended it to be stronger, but I liked it the way it was. Kind of reminds me of HK style if the tea was stronger. The boba is less chewy and a little harder than some of the better boba out there, and I think it was a bit inconsistent because some pieces were softer/chewier than others. But I've had worst boba so again, overall not bad! Tamarindo - I'm not an expert on tamarind-flavored drinks since I rarely get them, but it's a little tart and sweet with a fruity taste. My partner quite enjoyed it. Horchata - solid horchata; milky and on the sweeter side, the cinnamon flavor isn't as strong as other horchatas I've had. I prefer the milkier and less cinnamon version here actually! Would definitely be open to coming back to trying more of their drinks! They have a lot of options that are fruity, non-fruity, and smoothies available. For a quick boba fix in this area/plaza without driving further to other boba shops, this is a pretty solid option. read more

This is part of 408 Liquor, which many maps have been updated to show up in search, but their signage in person won't show anything and thus seems a bit sketchy. It'll be a counter on your right as you enter with two signs of their menu and a few pastries. Black Sesame Milk Tea 2/5 - Kind of super gritty so was kind of overall distracting from anything else. It does seem that all the gritty particles do clump up at the bottom if you leave your drink alone for more than a few seconds so that was not fun as well having to constantly stir/mix. Do appreciate the nutty tones initially from the black sesame but otherwise after the first 10%, it kind of mellows out to nothing. "Brown Sugar" Boba 0/5 - Literally tasteless, consistency was probably very slightly overcooked so not terrible in that area, but again, tasteless boba. Overall, I would just consider it just slightly better than Quickly's as it's a bit more than just "sugar water". Nonetheless, bad location, small menu (which the options are usually those from powder/syrup options), subpar boba, not sure if I'd choose to be back. read more

The people working in the store were very helpful and took genuine interest to explain the menu and recommended few options based on our preferences. We ordered 4 different drinks between our family members and all of them were superb. My kids loved Orio crumble smoothie and Mangonada. I took flavored lemonade and my wife took matcha milk tea.
