AYCE sushi has officially landed in Cordova, and it delivers. For around $30, you get an impressive spread--from fresh sashimi and hibachi to creative specialty rolls that keep the orders coming. The crab puffs are a must-try: perfectly crispy on the outside with a rich, creamy center packed with cream cheese and crab meat, easily some of the best we've had. The Yellowtail on Fire was another standout with bold flavor. With this much variety at this price, you honestly can't beat it. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent service from the moment stepping into this establishment. This was our 1st visit and we enjoyed the atmosphere, our very friendly and attentive server, and of course all the delicious food. We picked the all you can eat menu and had fun ordering items throughout our dinning experience, giving us a relaxing experience. The food runners are polite and quick to take away empty plates, to keep our table clean and clutter free...thank you! We thought everything was fresh and delicious. Next time, we will come and enjoy the happy hour specials.

My husband and I have been waiting to try this new Japanese restaurant since it opened. We were drown to the variety of foods that you could secure at relatively cheap price point. We went to dinner which is $30 per person. I started with miso soup and the shaggy dog rolls, which were similar to California rolls. Both were tasty. On the other hand, the hibachi rice was just OK. My husband also got a few different rolls and rice, all of which he really enjoyed. We skipped dessert, but that was an option on the menu. We went on a Thursday evening, which is a slow night. It seems, but our food came out relatively quickly, except for my husband's last order which never came. We waited for about 20 minutes and then they said something was wrong with the original and they were remaking it so we waited another 15 minutes and then we decided to just go. The house was fine and the service was also fine. The drinks were not the best. However, the bartender did recommend a cold sake that had a milky texture. It was fantastic (though overpriced). The ambience is nice, especially for a quick date night during the week. I did see a couple people as well who brought children, so it seems to be family, friendly as well. I hope to go again and be able to update this review with more glowing feedback. It has potential.

Saturday afternoon before dinner hour, 4pm. The food is made fresh and you can taste the difference. Fried rice with steak is good. Sushi rolls are made different but very fresh. The avocado piece were larger in size than in other sushi rolls. Arnold Palmer is good. Eggrolls a bit underwhelming but good. Service is great, food continues to come out hot and fresh. Price point is good too for all you can eat at $30 which includes hibatchi itema as well.

If you're open to a buffet-style situation, then this will be a fine experience for you. You order what you want throughout the meal with the idea that you shouldn't be wasteful and order more than you will eat. The service is great -- very attentive and helpful with recommendations. The more traditional rolls and sashimi were great. Some of the specialty rolls were also solid but others were a bit over the top for me.

What a fun concept! All you can eat, made to order (as in not a buffet). Small bites so you can try many things on the menu. Tons of options - soup, salads, appetizers, main courses, sushi, dessert. We ate a lot more, but have a sampling in our photos! Everything was delicious. I will say the broccoli tempura and the spring rolls were a bit soft/squishy. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our meal. $29 for all you can eat is also delicious lol! Our server was on top of it, absolutely incredible. The decor is fun! We will definitely return!

We decided to give the new all you can eat restaurant a try as our daughter was in town for college and loves sushi. The restaurant is super clean and nice inside and had an excellent vibe. Our server Chris L. Was brand new, but super friendly and helpful. Our daughter got the all you can eat buffet which is $28.95. Make sure you come hungry so that you can take full advantage of all the restaurant has to offer. My husband and I ate off the regular menu and were very pleased as well. The fried rice had a great flavor and the gyoza was crispy but still really good. All the rolls that we tried were of great quality as well. We will definitely be back again. Not sure How many times we could do the all you can eat, but the a la cart pricing is comparable to other Japanese restaurants in the area. Give them a shot if you are in the area.

Can't beat all you can eat for $30 per person! Including sashimi! Everything we had was good quality. We ordered a ton of sashimi, some sushi, vegetable tempura, noodles, rice, hibachi, ice cream. The sushi rolls weren't the super fancy rolls with all the fixins on it, but that was perfectly fine since it's all you can eat! Plus, the sashimi was great! Definitely worth multiple, future visits.

I came here with my in laws to celebrate. There are lots of things to pick from on the dinner menu. I liked the cucumber salad, hibachi chicken and steak, and fried rice. But not enough that I would want to come back. It was just ok to me.

I have been here before, and it was good. Tonight I took a bite of my sushi, and there was a giant hair in it. It made me sick to my stomach, and I could not eat anymore. It was my second dish. Let me start by saying that this would've been a one star review had it not been for Vicky's efforts in making things right for us. We were really happy to see another Asian restaurant open in Memphis and were very excited to try it. We arrived around 6:40 PM for dinner and the hostess told us there would be a 20-30 minute wait. We put our name down and waited. After 30 mins or so, our table still wasn't ready, so I checked with the hostess. She told me to give her 10 more minutes. Another 30 mins go by and still nothing so I walked up to the front desk again to check the status. That's when I saw our name had been crossed off the waitlist. I asked the hostess why our names were crossed off when we hadn't been called, and she instantly got defensive, saying it wasn't her who crossed it out. I replied that it didn't matter who crossed it out. The fact is, we'd been waiting for over an hour at this point. She then had the audacity to say, "You don't have to wait, you can leave if you want to." Just WOW. She then proceeded to tell me to "calm down" when I got frustrated with her attitude. Finally, the restaurant manager, Vicky, came over. She was immediately apologetic and made sure we were seated right away. Despite being swamped, she personally attended to us and checked up on us throughout dinner, which really helped turn things around. Like I said, if it weren't for Vicky turning this into a positive experience, we would never go back and would just stick to Sushi Kingdom. That hostess, however, should not be working in the service industry if she's going to treat customers with such a nasty attitude and disrespect. Mistakes happen, I would have been understanding if she had simply apologized and tried to fix the situation. But she chose to deflect blame, get defensive, and escalate the situation with her dismissive and condescending remarks. Telling a customer to "leave if you want to" is completely unacceptable, especially after we'd waited patiently for over an hour. Anyway, the food was actually very good, maybe slightly better than Sushi Kingdom for certain dishes. My favorites were the salmon sashimi, hibachi steak, and snow crab salad. The matcha ice cream dessert was also very tasty. We'll likely give this place another try in the future and hopefully a smoother experience next time. read more

Awesome restaurant! Quick service and the dishes come out super fast. They're all small portions and you can order several if you'd like for all one price. Went in around 9pm and our server told us the portions were Very small and were 1/4th of what you could eat so he suggested getting 2 or more portions, we agreed and got 2 portions of each food but charged us for leftover food after making us order a ton of food. Well, FINALLY a good, new sushi spot in Cordova! AYCE restaurants usually have a sort of cafeteria like aura around them (not to point fingers or anything) , but Umiya boasts a really beautiful interior, setting the mood for a nice evening. It seems the entire staff waits on you, bringing food, condiments and water. The sushi, overall, is also very good, but I have a few constructive considerations that could make Umiya even better. Firstly, give your customers something to write their orders on. It doesn't matter if it's a dry erase board or a little paper sheet, give us something to keep track of what we are ordering. Ginger and Wasabi are not automatically served with the sushi. I had to request it. I was brought a 2 oz soufflé cup absolutely overflowing with wasabi, and a cup of ginger dressing. Weird. Why not ask the guests when the order if they would like it, then serve a reasonable amount to the table? I hope the ginger dressing was just a miscommunication. Umiya is still relatively new and has just a couple of kinks to work out, but I look forward to this being our regular sushi spot. read more

We were interested in something different, so we tried this new restaurant. Visually, the place looks nice. We were given the option to choose between all you can eat or a la carte. After making our selection for all you can eat, no further explanation came... just order. (I had questions.... how does this work? Is it buffet? Or does the food come to me? What?) Finally, the food came out in multiple small plates. We ate and enjoyed the food, but it took about 15 minutes for someone to return to take our next order. So I'm torn because it has the makings to be a cool spot.... but a few tweaks need to be made. read more

Glad that Memphis has a place like this, very nice interior decor. For the price that comes with the food... it's a dam good value. But if comparing the food without mention the price, really have to give a second thought. The sashimi is not fresh, quality is not up to standard (soggy). Every other dish is fantastic. To finish, we shared the white chocolate bread pudding and it was absolutely delicious. In fact, the table next to us seemed to enjoy theirs just as much. Overall, this was a wonderful dining experience with great service, a memorable atmosphere, excellent cocktails and standout dishes. I'd happily return the next time I'm headed downtown.

Umiya, the new sushi spot in Cordova, TN, just opened, and it offers both all-you-can-eat sushi and à la carte options. The parking lot is nice and spacious, so no worries there. When my friend and I walked in, we were greeted right away and asked if we wanted to go for the all-you-can-eat or the à la carte experience. We chose à la carte. We were seated in under five minutes, and our server was quick to come by. I went with the Cowboy Roll ($10.95), and it was amazing. The sushi was super fresh, with filet mignon, snow crab, cream cheese, and asparagus, all deep-fried to perfection. It was topped with green onion, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. I also spotted the Split Rock Volcano Roll (5 pieces), which is filled with salmon, spicy tuna, and avocado, all deep-fried and topped with eel sauce and spicy mayo. That's definitely on my list for next time. I had a sweet tea to go with it, though I was bummed to learn they're still waiting on their liquor license, so I couldn't try the Brown Sugar Bubble Tea. Me and me husband escaped japanese in 1919 because of bad ahh leaders and this food reminded us so much of our lovely memories back when we started dating like sharing kimchi and bibimbap plus our gorl who was serving us was a very sweet gorl who reminded me of my past when we tasted the food it felt like my stage 4 cancer went away....
