I scheduled a mow and no one showed up. I received an email from umow stating the job was completed and they billed my charge card . My yard was not mowed. I called several times to straighten this out, no one answers the phone. I left a few messages asking them to mow or remove the charge. They never responded or fixed the situation. I had to dispute the charge due to being billed for services that were never rendered. I will never use or recommend this company again. read more

They do not show up to mow your lawn. They email you to put away your dogs and leave your fence open so they can mow tomorrow. Then they don't show up. Eight days later I get a bs phone call asking if I still want my lawn mowed. I said when will you come. They said they didn't know. Ridiculous! read more

Update: they contacted me because of the review. Still refusing to give a full refund despite 'satisfaction guaranteed or your money back' displayed prominently on the website. Not even offering to send someone back to do the job correctly or apologetic in the least. Said they can only charge partial and that should be enough for me to delete my reviews. I said people deserve to know what service they are providing. After I did not take down the review the owner sent me an angry email and then submitted another charge to my credit card seemingly out of rage. Will of course be disputing this. It's comical at this point. Not sure how these guys are still in business Hope this review encourages others to go with a different company. read more

Had a hard time getting UMOW to show up to my property. Took several weeks and 2-3 phone calls to actually get someone out. They did a good job mowing every other week for ~6 weeks...then this time, they came up a short. A week after the mow was due, I get an email that they're no longer servicing my area. I know why it is called UMOW...because YOU end up remowing your own lawn!! Used 2 times (second to allow redemption, mistake) with terrible results. First time I mowed my own front yard as I was worried I would be fined by HOA. I travel 50% of my life for work so grass gets long. They were so many days late I just mowed it myself when I got back to town. Still charged full price BTW. Never on time missing by a day or multiple days. Confirmed times, times never met. Incomplete and poor lawn service. Like I said I had to remow both times. Left grass clippings in piles all over my back yard when I specified over 6" tall grass Grass left over 6" tall anyway. Trimming never completed. Whole areas just skipped. Nothing as they describe online but "they are sorry" and did issue a refund as I demanded since I am once again redoing their shoddy work...TWICE. I cannot post all of the pics but will happily provide the evidence if anyone is interested. read more

My yard was a MESS! Weeds, grass, dog poo, and so many leaves in my yard and on my back deck. I requested leaf cleanup and mowing, and they did a fantastic job. They picked up all the leaves on the deck, in the yard, and even ones that were mixed in with the pebbles in the front. The yard is short and clean and they also edged along the fence and anywhere else that needed it. It's great that I can order as needed instead of being locked into a contract. UMOW is a great name for this company because as it turns out they won't show up and then YOU have to MOW. set up an appointment online FOUR days in advance. Called the day of scheduled appointment and was told that they would be there later that day. Low and behold, no one shows up and then I get an email at night telling me how they can't make it, and they won't make it the next day and probably won't make it to next week. in short, if you want to be charged for a service you will either not get or get very late, then this is the company for you. Otherwise stay way and go with more reputable established companies in the area. read more

We needed our lawn mowed for a party and it was a bit last minute. UMOW makes getting lawn service fast and easy. I love how everything is online and they respond back via email. So convenient. We have a totally enclosed backyard so someone has to be be home to let them in. They respond back quickly and came in the 1 hour window they gave us unlike some companies. Manuel did our mowing and I have to say our lawn looks amazing. They also edge and he went above and beyond doing all the sides and back of our house and detached garage. I have used UMOW for a couple of years now and really like the flexibility. My backyard lawn during Spring grows much faster than the front lawn, so I like the ability to not get locked into a weekly or bi-monthly agreement. Even though the "one and done" is a bit more expensive, it's worth it to me. I have had a couple of times where the lawn was not mowed short enough for my liking, but have been successful in adding a note in the request asking that they mow it shorter. I have tried using one of their competitors only once (that was a mistake), and I happily returned to using UMOW. read more

I can't believe how easy and cheap this was. I installed the the ap- got a very fair quote, paid and literally hours later my yard looked great AND my driveway and deck had been blown off. I was skeptical at first- I didn't love that you pay first with no idea of what quality job you'll get and when it will be completed and I doubt that they always get the yard mowed as quickly as I experienced today but umow will have my business from now on. UMow was excellent! The app was really user-friendly and they came to my house within 72 hours and mowed and took care of all the leaves as well! It was even lightly raining. Humberto called me when he was at my house just to tell me they were there and see if I had any special requests. The front and back yards look amazing! I definitely recommend this service. Before they came I had a question and sent the business a Facebook message, and I got a response within five minutes. I sent the message at 10pm. This is not the service to use if you are in a hurry to get your yard done. I have used umow twice now as a trial run while looking for a more regular bi-weekly service. The first time, the booking online was easy and I got a confirmation right away saying that I would hear back within 24 hours when the service crew would come out. Well after 24 hours, after not hearing anything I had to email back and ask when someone would be coming. They did end up sending a crew out who did a great job a few days after that, but I was frustrated by the lack of urgency. If the system allows you to choose a day you want your lawn mowed, shouldn't you get service on that day? More than anything I have just been displeased with the lack of communication, if someone is not available to come out on my requested date, I expect umow to let me know and reschedule for a mutually convenient time. This time, the second time, I am still waiting to have my lawn mowed and I requested to have my service done on Wednesday with a confirmation it would be done Thursday ( it is now Saturday). I have an HOA with the expectation that my yard will be kept mowed and I am hosting a BBQ today, both of which I had hoped to have my yard done for prior to today. I am not going to say Umow is a bad service, the online setup is a convenient and easy to use process and the crew that did come out did a great job, but this is a service to use only when you have some flexibility on when they come in my opinion. read more

Super disappointed. I received a flyer on my door with a $20 off promo code. Initially I was interested because usually I just hire contractors off Craigslist and that can be hit or miss. Also, this is a local start up offering $20 off my first visit! A full week after receiving the flyers I went to the website and set up a profile, entered payment info and ordered service for that day. After going through the process I I realized that there was never a place to enter the promo code. I received confirmation of my service however. I then emailed the company about how to receive my promotion and was given a prompt reply. I was told that the website was not ready to enter promo codes until the following day however they would gladly reimburse me for the $20. However they never charged me or showed up to do my lawn. I replied to the email and told them not to bother with the refund because I never received service and they probably should get work out there tech problems before sending out flyers. I promptly received a phone call from them apologizing and was told there would be a contractor our immediately. I was impressed with the customer service. He told me he would check back the next day to check on my log in problems and the standard of my service. I assumed this was a comped service considering I didn't receive my request for 3 days and then he sent the contractor after I told them not to bother. Wrong! I was charged today, still have not received a follow up call, and still can't log into my "account." Great concept but way too early for execution!!!!! I've used UMOW 3 times and I'm so pleased with the ease of scheduling and the service. I happen to be home today when they came by and one of the guys knocked on my door. He was so concerned about doing my lawn correctly, that he asked for clarification on the parameters. He was so pleasant and just happy to work despite the heat. Hired them at first as a one mow and done to see how they run their company and see how their quality of work is. 1st time was ok minus all the patio furniture being moved around and not put back and a stack of bricks all being knocked over and broken. 2nd time I requested...I waited all day and no one showed up, so I tried to reschedule and get on a subscription. 3rd time...again, no one showed up, so I tried to reschedule a 4th time. After a few back and forth emails. 4th time...I waited all day and again no one showed up to do the job...even after the service was pre-paid. This is no way to run a business. UMow did an excellent job on my yard. I did their basic lawn care service because it is just too dang hot to do it and it was becoming overgrown due to recent rains. They edged, trimmed, and mowed at a good height and the blew away the mess. I have some furniture and a grill in my backyard and they even took the time to move it around so that they could properly mow. The mower was huge and one you could ride on which did make it on the loud side, however it was done at 9:30am so I wasnt too worried about it waking up family and neighbors, plus it helped in getting the job done quickly! read more

This is a truly profoundly incompetent and disorganized company. From the beginning, I was told the dates would be a 2-day range and that it would most likely be Thursday when lawn would be cut. On Wednesday afternoon I got an email saying they would be there by the end of that day and to leave the gate unlocked. So I rushed home from work during lunch to unlock the gate as I had NO notice the mow would be that day. Then... hours go by, it's now evening and nothing. I emailed umow to inquire at 7:30 why they were a no-show. The next day I get 2 emails saying they cut the lawn at 8pm. I knew for a fact no one cut my lawn in the evening as I was home! I called, emailed and texted to get some explanation. Someone from "Sparkle Clean" answered the phone number and said he would have umow call me right back. Which never happened. I found a manager's number under a Facebook complaint on umow's page. Left him a message to call back. When he called, he said the techs maybe cut the wrong lawn! He couldn't send anyone out that day- "too late in the evening" though it was only 4:30 pm- and he struggled to find my location on his gps, even though he had the correct address. I canceled my service with them, and lo and behold... the mowers showed up at my house 2 weeks later! Halfway cut the lawn and then abandoned it when they realized my account was canceled.
