I went to South Korea last year and was in awe of all the different coffee shops and cafes the country had to offer. Each one had its own cute aesthetic and interior. I was really spoiled while abroad. When I came back to the States, I was really disappointed by the lack of similar coffee shops. Un Caffe is THE Korean-inspired coffee shop that is so reminiscent of my time. It's interior is well thought out with small details. I typically order the iced caramel latte. It is definitely not on the super sweet side, but not on the bitter side either. It's a very good in between, which is especially good for a morning coffee. Their croissants are also top tier. Each bite is so perfectly crispy and melts in your mouth. Would recommend the almond or chocolate croissant to any goer. I typically try to go here before work, when it's just opening, and depending on the hour, there may be a line or no seats. The staff always tries to do their best and are always in an upbeat attitude. They also host various events/workshops which I want to sign up for soon. Expect to see me soon. read more

I really felt like Houston's cafe scene is lacking but if we can get more cafes like Un Caffe, we'll be golden! I love Korean cafe culture as well as drinks so I knew I had to try this place out especially after seeing their matcha einspanner on IG, which I ordered and loved!! They have a great selection of snacks as a plus. I enjoyed a warmed up mini butter croissant that was so crunchy and good. I stumbled across this cafe while shopping in the area. Beautiful coffee shops with variety of different choices in drinks and food. The workers are extremely friendly and welcoming. I'm a huge fan of their Mushroom Poblano empanada and coffee einspanner. Their coffee is strong. The ube einspanner was super underwhelming. It wasn't strong in any flavor, it was tasteless. I've got it twice already too, the second time hoping it was just an error the first time. The baby croissants are so cute :-). Overall I'll be coming back to try their other drinks! read more

Un Caffe has to be one of my favorite coffee shops in Houston. There is a ton of seating, and you can sit at the bar if you're by yourself. I really liked the aesthetic and interior of their drinks, branding, and space. I don't know when I'll have the chance to come again, so I ordered two drinks to try. Their specialty Americano was really yummy, and I don't even like Americanos. My favorite was definitely the einspanner. I was sp excited to come here as I haven't seen any other coffee shops in Houston selling Einspanners. I first discovered my love for these in LA a few months ago and had planned on making my own but now I don't have to! For my first visit here I came with a friend and we had the espresso einspanner and the berry espresso. The einspanner was a good ratio and I loved the mildly sweet extra foam they had on top. The berry espresso was unique and paired well with the espresso. Between the two I'd definitely go for the einspanner. My second visit we decided to try the matcha and latte einspanner to compare. We also then saw someone order the citrus americano that came with a literal bear ice cube on top so of course had to get it too. We asked for our drinks to be for here and ended up disappointed when they put it in to go cups for us. We also only got 2 of our drinks, after waiting for awhile we finally went up to the counter and that's when they decided to tell us they were out of the einspanner cream so they didn't make us our matcha einspanner. I wish there was more communication because we would have then chosen a matcha einspanner over the espresso one. We didn't want a matcha latte instead and had already ordered 3 drinks for the 2 of us so we opted for a refund, which took quite some time. The citrus americano, however, was definitely worth it. It's probably going to be my new go to drink. I've had other citrus/lemon cold brews/americanos from other coffee shops in town and this one is definitely the best. It was perfectly balanced between sweet and sour and the coffee was not acidic. The shop is pretty big and the second time we came almost all the tables were suprisingly full. I think they could make a better use of their space and add a few more seats to accomodate. I recommend coming early so you can snag a spot if you're looking to study. I also love that they have korean ramen and snacks you can purchase to eat while you study. I think it's a genius idea and know that if I were still a student, that alone would make this my favorite coffee shop. Despite the inconvenience of our last visit, I'm still excited to come back again and try some more of their drinks. read more

The atmosphere is inviting and the crowd is diverse. Parking is a hit or miss, but if you're a student nearby and don't mind walking, I promise you'll enjoy your time here. I was greeted by the barista and Un, who were both very kind and welcoming. There's a giant board with plenty of drink options to choose from. I got the iced cloud, which has a nice sweetness to it. I will definitely try the matcha next. I also got a bag of Heavy Weight. It has notes of dark chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, orange blossom, and more. It was hard to choose from this and the other bean options available. This place is definitely for those who are coffee enthusiasts. I can tell Un is an artist and cares for the craft of coffee as I had a glimpse of him doing his thang behind the bar. If you're in no rush, take your time here. Read a good book. The open concept was very inviting & bright. I got the CITRUS ICED AMERICANO & it was refreshing & not too acidic. The bar was comfortable to sit at with hooks for bags & plenty of outlets / USB plugs underneath. I loved being able to see all the drinks being made. There was only one barista working his magic while I was there so it did take a little longer than I'm used to receive my coffee but it wasn't a big deal. They also sell instant TTEOBOKKI & RAMEN. They pour hot water & microwave it so you can have a snack while you're there. I thought it was a really cute touch. Interestingly enough they have a BATHROOM CODE but it's literally on a post-it note on the door but it did confuse some people. My only gripe is the PARKING. There is a small lot on the side but that fills up fast. Metered street parking is $1 for 2hrs. First timer. Confused upon entering, as order counter is tucked in the back of the store. Two long table right before the counter, causing awkward formation if there's even a small line. Ample bar seating but didn't feel inviting. They definitely wanted to maximize seating. someone mentioned as well, tables could be cleaner. Iced vanilla cloud - maybe these kind of flavors are completely on a different coffee league than what i am used too. coffee was very acidic (?) is this what serious coffee drinkers use to nicely say sour? visually, drink looked thin and not heavy on cream. store appears to also not use any sweetener besides whatever is already in the cream on top. very strange flavors, most definitely not the vanilla you may be expecting. Einspanner - pretty decadent due to heavy load of cream on top. coffee was smooth but not very bold. again, store appears to not use sweetener, so keep in mind. i am perhaps an unserious coffee drinker since i enjoy a little bit of sugar in my coffees. overall, probably just not my cup of coffee but very could be for others. if you enjoy dessert coffees, this place isn't for you. read more

I friggin LOVE un caffe, look for that super small parking area in the grass adjacent, and parking around the building too, mostly street parking because you are in midtown ish area. There's always so many events and pop ups which I love, because COMMUNITY!!!! its in a prime location, next to flora, coffee and plants go so well together amirite!! Baristas know what they are doing and make some cool creative expresso drinks, check their seasonal items. The owner is Korean and has an asian theme inside, like you'll see ramen, contemporary light fixtures, nice clean decor. SO YUM!!! Both the eispanner and the matcha eispanner were delicious and so aesthetic! The foam was sweet, fluffy, and so delicious and it mixed so well with the drinks. OOF. Probably the worst coffee I've had in a long time and I'm really sad about it. When you walk in there looked to be a professional photographer set up to take your picture with their logo/sign which seemed cute. We didn't but it seemed neat. Then you walk in and get the vibe of the place. It hits you like a truck. The noise level is that of an elementary school cafeteria just chaotic. Packed to the brim. Seems like a good sign because why else would people be here if not for it to be good? We started the day having breakfast over at Love Bakery which we noticed boxes from there in Un Cafe which we thought was a good sign too, a smaller selection that didn't look quite as good as over there, but they had some baked goods. The cashier was very friendly and helpful with describing the drinks as they had a couple things I hadn't heard of. We ordered the iced vanilla cloud and the chai latte. The iced vanilla cloud was gross. It tasted how I feel raw Splenda I think should taste? The drink oddly almost immediately separated and became very gritty and granulated. Couldn't finish and had to throw away. The iced chai was at least edible. Just really not good good. If someone could explain the appeal to me then maybe I'd consider it again but overall there are just better coffee shops around for the same price range. I'd deff recommend Retrospect coffee instead for this area. 1-2/10 I didn't like that much, didn't vibe. read more

Wow what an experience! My friend and I started our journey for a great shot of espresso which we want to a shop in montrose but they had closed for the day but did tell us about Un and we should check it out. The menu was quite extensive and filled with some new things I hadn't had before. We got to meet the owner Soon who shared his passion of coffee with us, in store they have 3 roasters and water filter which when you have a coffee you can tell the love is in the drink. Parking here can be difficult but there is a small gravel lot right next to the entrance. We managed to find a spot and found that the coffee shop is very large in the inside. It was before 10am and there was a long line and seats were filled. Ordered the Yuzu Americano without the marshmallow and it was very tasty! Also had the mini croissant which was a great size and genius idea. They toasted my croissant in a toaster as well. Friendly staff and would definitely return!
