My furnace stopped working this past Friday. I called for service at noon and they were here by 3. Took them a bit to find the issue but they made phone calls to other techs for help. Found issue, cleaned and repaired part by 5:30 same day. Only charged for the time they actually worked on furnace, not the time diagnosing the issue. They cleaned up every spec of mess that was made also. I was super happy with them! read more

had them for 2 years on auto delivery, first year they totally forgot i was on auto delivery and left me in the cold second year, in the middle of a snowstorm ran out because they had a supply shortage which okay i suppose that makes sense, but then i asked when they last came out, it was november and i was calling in JAN also they charge about 50 cents over market now i'm trying to get a new company in and they are saying i have to pay them to come out and get their tanks, said no way am i paying for that after the service i've rec'd, they say talk to a manager i'll transfer you manager says "he'll think about it" avoid like the plague! read more

I've been using Uncas Gas for years and I couldn't be happier. They are way better than other local gas companies I've used! Less expensive too! (Let's face it they're all going to make a profit.) I own my tank--they put it in. So, I'm scratching my head reading other reviews on here. I mean if you authorize your card for someones else's deliveries and are not smart enough to cancel your card and get a new one to be sure no other deliveries go on it, isn't that on you? I call for my deliveries bc I have a steep driveway and need to make sure it's plowed for them. But, one time they delivered to my tank when it was empty and turned it off in case I had pilot lights running in the house. THAT'S CALLED SAFETY!!! In all the years I've had them I've never had a bad experience. I like them way better than any other local gas company I've had and they are cheaper too!!! read more

Can't believe I'm writing a review for a propane company, but these guys really impressed me. I've been a customer for about a year after building a new home and I'm impressed with their service. The rates are competitive and everyone we've dealt with (sales, office, delivery drivers) have been friendly and polite. We are on auto delivery and they came over the weekend with a good amount of snow on the ground. I didn't expect them so soon and completely forgot to clear a path to the tank but the driver said he had no problem with it. It's easy to get a hold of them when I need to call in and everyone I've spoken with in the office is on top of things. We had another local company at our last place and they were an absolute nightmare to deal with - so glad we switched! read more

Incas gas as noted on other review by unhappy people.bill and charge debit cards without authority from the card holder. .I allowed my son who.has young children to charge one delivery of propane last winter. And still made them wait days after payment was made.,but they kept the card number on file without our knowledge, and billed the card in June for around $ 190.00 0r so . I do have the paperwork just not in from of me. I called them to return that amount to the card they refused. And was quite rude.i told my bank, and they started a fraud investigation..and told both the bank, and Incas Gas never to charge that card again .well guess what my son no longer lives there at that address, the house is empty,and they just charged my card again for 210.00 without my permission, not even knowledge. I called my bank told them what happens another fraud investigation.. called the ct attorney General last time calling again..this company thinks they are above the law.. I won't have it. Uncas stole over $450 out of an account not linked to my business after not sending me a bill for months! I had to close my business as a result because no heat in February! The money they took w no ones permission was for my mortgage payment which is now late! Glenn I think was his name was SO rude and couldn't care less that he had been sending my bills to the wrong address the whole time I hadn't paid cuz NO BILL! I've used uncas gas for propane delivery for a few years, I own my tank so I can buy from whomever I'd like to. My driveway is long but the trucks should not back in, as it curves, and is uphill, but there is room to turn around at the top. For years, I've added a note to delivery trucks to drive straight in, don't back in, as driving off the edge of the driveway can/has cracked it and causes lots of damage to the turf etc because it's often very muddy in spring. It's been tough getting the drivers to do that properly. Recently I had another delivery, I don't know why but the truck went off the driveway again, it was very muddy so the tracks were very deep. This time I talked to a manager, who understood the issues when I explained, was interested in the problem, very reasonable! I was looking to make sure the trucks stayed on driveway in future, but he said he'd fill those deep tracks and then had it done within the week. Thank you for your professionalism, Uncas! I appreciate that greatly!! And yes, sometimes this year I've had to wait up to maybe 3 days to have tank filled when low and super cold which was nerve-wracking, but a word to the wise... with any type of fuel delivery, you need to check it frequently when super cold, it gets eaten up faster than you might think, and give the supplier 3-4 days notice. They may be having trouble keeping up too.... It's not natural gas. read more

Not very good customer service, and high prices. Each time you call for a delivery the "rules" change. I think they deliver gas when they feel like it - unless you want to pay an extra $100 for faster service (at least that's the deal this week). read more

They say first impressions are important. I called today as a new prospective customer and was connected to a woman (forgot her name). I asked if she could help me with a few questions as I was new to using Propane. She seemed bothered that I called and after I told her where I lived she abruptly said we don't go there and didn't say another word. Honestly, she could have been just polite. Instead she acted like she didn't care and I was wasting her time. Glad I didn't walk through that door. I'll make sure to advise others as well. read more

New Home is Great! Gas company that came with it is HORRIBLE. During the closing and in front of two lawyers, the seller and both representing realtors I paid onto the seller a figure of the estimated value of a full tank of propane in cash. After reviewing the contract from Uncas Gas and reading the online reviews of the company I decided to look elsewhere for my propane needs. Giving a company with a questionable track record direct access to my bank account information (required information on contract) wasn't going to happen. I found a company with better contract terms and with a higher rating then Uncas and quickly set up a date to switch over to them. November 1 2017: CPP was on time and very professional. Emailed Uncas Gas (November 7, 2017)to inform them I had switched companies and tank was ready to be picked up, received confirmation. However, it took almost a whole month to remove their tank and only after emailing (December 1, 2017) them a reminder that the tank was still here. December 5, the tank from Uncas Gas finally removed. Now, they are giving me the run around to avoid refunding the cost of the remaining fuel that is required by CT law for them to pay back. I had a feeling about this company and I am glad I did not sign the contract. This company is bad news and I would stay away from Uncas Gas. There are better companies, do your research. read more

I am shocked at the bad reviews. I switched from Amerigas who was horrible and I couldn't be happier. They agreed to automatic delivery during cold months only, and always come in a timely manner. The prices are in line with what everyone in my area charges. Staff on the phones is always courteous. I have recommended this company to friends and have not heard anything negative. The only hiccup was ordering a new remote control which was delayed - that's not a bad track record for over 2 years of seamless service. read more

If I could rate them less than one star I would! We are an automatic delivery customer and have run out of fuel four times in the past two years. Out of fuel now and have called there 24 hour emergency service several times in the past three hours with no cal back yet. Suggest you find a different vendor or buy a portable heater as a backup since they are so undependable. read more

Absolutely the worst company to deal with. I have been on automatic delivery for years. This is the second time I have run out of propane while cooking. They refuse to come out on a Sunday to fill my tank even though it is clearly their mistake. They even admitted it was their error. So needless to say they can pick up their empty tank. read more

Honestly I don't know how they got the previously bad reviews. I've been with Uncas for several years now after horrible experiences with Suburban Propane and Amerigas. The staff is always friendly and helpful and unlike the others they didn't give me a teaser rate and then up the price shortly afterward. I have never had issues with Uncas Gas but have had problems with other Gas companies in my area. So I guess it depends on the day. They are the least expensive I have found in the area and do not oversell. read more

We ran out of propane today woke up to no heat. We called this morning and Uncas Gas said they ran out of propane. Said they would give us an update at 9 am. We called back multiple times but their emergency line was disabled. I'm looking into contacting the news. I have a two year old and it's 5 degrees outside this is beyond unacceptable. I should also note this isn't the first, second or even third time we have run out of gas but if you call them to say it's low and it's not completely empty they charge you $190 to come out. We are on automatic delivery and have a contract with them that says they will come out if it's an emergency and we run out no matter what time or day. Also the manager, Mike, personally told my husband last time this happened it would never happen again. Do NOT use this company. They are unethical, liars and blatantly do not care about their customers. Hope they go out of business!!! read more

Zero Stars, This company is awful. second time we ran out of gas having two 100 lbs tanks for cooking, both times were cooking for guests, eight of them. Called put on hold etc. We use to have a gauge but they removed it saying we don't need them because they keep tanks filled, ya ok. Well they cost us close to 1000.00 in ruined dinners that I was preparing. Never a sorry or hey we will take care of it, nope we will fill it when we get there and we want our money now. My father in law passed and just had his tank filled. so we called to have them pick the tank up, they said they wouldn't reimburse the estate any for the gas we just paid for and said they would have to charge 100.00 to empty the tank. well got a different story from driver that told us they would take it back, top the tank off and put it back in service, nice company aye.
