Met a friend for a late breakfast yesterday. Being Father's Day, the joint was jumping. We waited about 10 minutes for a table while visiting with a nice older couple, so the wait went quickly. I ordered 2 eggs with ham and my friend ordered 2 eggs with sausage. The food arrived quickly and hot off the stove. My ham was tremendous and the eggs and potatoes were cooked to perfection. Came here on a Saturday around 11am and were seated right away. The decor inside is like a 50s diner, super cute. Our server Tim was amazing and very attentive. The menu options are basic, but they have everything you'd expect at a diner. I got the pancakes and they were good. We were meeting family and I chose Uncle Bill's based on the ratings and the old school diner vibe. It was tight getting a wheelchair inside, luckily there were people to hold the doors open for us. It looks just like a 50s diner inside, right down to the velvet Elvis painting. Cool. Our waitress was loud and a lot of fun. I like her. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. Meh. The staff is so friendly, they make you feel like family as soon as you walk in. I've realized after my family and I coming here for over 10 years we never left a review. The food is homey and fresh as always! The see you receive from EVERYONE in the restaurant is top notch, they treat you like family! They got out of their way to make you what you want and perfectly. I love finding locally owned diners. I walked in and immediately got greeted and sat at the counter. The local men's club, the regular crowd were there...speaking in Spanish and solving the world's problems. The food was good, the service was good, and the atmosphere is the best ! The quintessential greasy spoon, the place that looks like it came straight out the 1950s. full of fun pictures of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe on the wall, staff that greets you when you walk in to "take a seat anywhere you like". Wanted to support a local business. Food was greasy, coffee was weak and the prices were no less than the high end diners around here. $3.30 for a cup of coffee and a bill of $18.50 for an omelette and coffee! They only take cash and I left a tip of about 15% - and got a snarky "Thank you" from one of the waitress. Later at home, my stomach felt queasy from the oil I think. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant when the only other patron left. We waited a ridiculously long time for an order of eggs and an order of pancakes. Was it because the cook prepared the food and it sat there and not promptly delivered to our table? Who knows? However, the eggs and potatoes were cold. My husband who orders pancakes at every breakfast out left more on his plate than he ate. I tasted them and they were sicky sweet. This place definitely has that diner retro vibe to it which was really nice. The servers were amazing, very attentive and super friendly. They made you feel more like family friends rather than paying customers. Usually my girlfriend doesn't even like eating in the restaurants but she said the experience here was so warm and inviting she wouldn't mind eating at this place again. The food was good, I wasn't able to find biscuits and gravy on their menu but when I asked the server about it, he said they did have it. This morning I had the basic eggs over medium with bacon, hash browns and pancakes. As usual, everything wa perfect. Here are some of the reasons I rate them so highly: Consistency - Their food never has an off day and the eggs are cooked how you ask for them. Temperature - Yes, believe it or not "temperature". The food is ALWAYS served to you hot, and that includes the toast. Not all places do. Service - The owner family really seems to care for their customers. They are friendly and give prompt service. Price - It's the least important to me, but they are extremely reasonable. i should add, it's a good choice for lunch/dinner as well, and their homemade soups are out of this world. In fact, uncle Bill's diner gives the 70s show of Mel's diner, a bad name. If you go into uncle Bill's diner with low expectations, relax, your expectations will be instantly met. Despite the food being passable, uncle Bill's diner gives double wide trailers, a bad name. We had a large group and they made us feel like we were part of their family! Portions were perfect and we all left with full, satisfied bellies. My short stack of pancakes, eggs, crispy bacon, and hash browns were all hot and delicious. My mister had biscuits and gravy with eggs; 5/5 star review from him plus they kept his coffee cup filled.
