    Franky burger

I was playing ball at the park nearby and decided to try them out. They have their own little parking lot, so easy parking. Walked in, staff was super friendly and helped with recommendations. I think they're known for their hot dogs but I was craving a burger. Small on the inside, felt like a very old school burger joint. Also had seating outside. Inside felt crammed a little. I got the Franky burger and sat down, watched them cook it right in front of me. It was hot and decent flavor. I would go back if I was in the neighborhood but I'd try something else.

    Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich

I really wanted this place to be special. It just wasn't. I went there for the pastrami but it just didn't measure up to my expectations. If I were to go there again I'd ask them/him to leave the sauerkraut off, the onions off and to serve it on the same bun they use for Italian beet with just mustard and pickles. There were just too many clashing flavors and smells that just didn't belong. The pickles were delicious. We asked for the sauce for the Italian beef to be served on the side. They ignored that request and made the bread so soggy you couldn't even try to eat it by hand. It actually could have been a credible sandwich. The dry parts of the bread were very good.

When I say you feel like family the moment you walk in, it's true! The guy at the register today might have been the owner, but when I asked for advice, he gave me the best tip and suggested trying the North Side Polish! Wow, it's amazing! The grape soda was the perfect finishing touch! The atmosphere is so relaxed and feels like you're at a friend's place having a meal! Don't skip on this place!

Really delicious! When they say hot peppers, they mean hot! We enjoyed Chicago dogs, split and Italian combo and fries. The Chicago dogs were full of toppings, authentic Chicago dog flavor! The Italian combo had juicy beef and a well flavored sausage. Definitely will be back... the local fountain sodas were very good! Give them a try!

Decently priced food in a cute lil hidden spot! Just okay! They do have a large variety tho. Hot dogs, sandwiches, burgers, milkshakes, sides, etc! Food wasn't too bad! Just a little over cooked. I def think it has potential if they toned down the heat. I ordered the spicy Cajun brat & the juicy Lucy. The Cajun brat was really missing the heat. I couldn't taste any cajun seasoning nor spice... It was def a good grilled brat but just lacking. The juicy Lucy was pretty juicy tho! The cheese was pouring out! Just a tad bit over cooked in my opinion, it would def be godly if it was medium rare instead of well done. Seating was a lil cramped inside. There's tons more seating outside which is great on a nice cool day. The service was very nice as well. I 100% recommend ordering their craft sodas tho. It's locally based here in Minnesota and it's delicious. Will 100% be back just for the soda lol. (The strawberry soda is so GOOD) Overall, it was just okay. I would like to give them another shot in the future. :)

This place is a tremendous value. To think that eating here is CHEAPER than fast food is amazing. The fries were especially good. Crispy and salted appropriately. They were served piping hot, straight from the fryer. We had to wait a long time for our food, they accidentally lost our ticket... however, this experience made me enjoy the experience because I was able to witness their incredible customer service to make things right. It was a very friendly staff! I'll be back! The soft fresh buns... mmm.

I will frame this review: This is a divey fast food place. Menu is expansive but limited at the same time (I mean, its brats and fried food I get it), not the most inviting location but it absolutely has character. But for what it is, its perfect in my opinion. The guy working the counter was an absolute character, almost overly friendly and made me feel right at home the first time there. Helped me decide on the Northeast dog in my pictures, was an absolutely phenomenal dog with local character. Definitely stopping there on the way back/to a brewery is the way to go.

Great Chicago style hotdog joint in Minneapolis that I found while traveling on business. The owner is a legit Chicago native (Sox Fan but don't hold it against him) who is friendly and welcoming to first timers. I tried the Coney Island chili dog and it was pretty good. I also tried the southside Maxwell polish dog and it was awesome. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Minneapolis.

This small hot dog/burger restaurant in Northeast Minneapolis was an overall fun experience. After looking through the menu, I decided on what is supposed to be their signature hot dog, the "Chicago Dog." I'm not a huge hot dog person in general, but the blend of flavors from the many ingredients, including their secret special seasoning, changed my perception of what can be done with a hot dog. In one of my attached photos, you can see how much was going on with the toppings. It was overall pretty tasty. That being said, there was nothing super special about the place or the food/ingredients themselves - which I always especially hope for when trying out a more niche, small restaurant that specializes in certain foods.

Uncle Franky's is a gem. The place is small with limited seating. There is a small patio. Small parking lot. My husband and I were heading to the Disney Animation Immersive Disney Experience nearby. I had a plain regular hot dog as I was not feeling adventurous. (Long day as work. I wasn't in the mood to be adventurous.) Thankfully they were able to accommodate this. The staff members were friendly even though they were half hour 'til closing. They also carried MinneSoda. We will definitely need to come back. They have things on their menu that we'd like to try.

Carolina Slaw Dog - Aka Ol' Dixie
    Andrew K.

Cool hole-in-the-wall type restaurant. Ordered the Carolina Slaw dog and enjoyed the huge load of chili and slaw on it. The actual dog itself is the red kind that snaps with a chewy casing, if that's your thing. Staff were nice and it was quick to come out. I did really enjoy the Minnesodas that are served there. The cola was delicious and wish I would've tried more!

Ordered this from door dash and I was highly disappointed! Please make this right!

This place is wonderful! A very odd Scooby Doo obsession is had by the owner, but the "Krispy Chicken" sandwich is great.

Terrific dive joint. The dogs have that "snap". And the chili cheese fries are gut busting good.

This makes the burger really chewy and you really can't taste the beef anymore like you used to when it was thicker. I would take this as it's not as good as it used to be. It is not as good as the original hype from the beginning. In conclusion, I do not think it's worth the $19. I rather get a cheesesteak for $16 at Tono's which comes with fresh not burnt fries rather than come back here and get a burger here. It's highly unlikely I will be back here. I honestly feel like the burgers have gone way WAY downhill. The fries here have gotten terrible so I stopped getting the fries a long time ago. They are not soft crisp like they used to be. They are too golden brown color, almost like burnt hard fries. I never like to eat down here. I normally would order the Parlour burger upstairs. The basement part which is Parlour has a weird smell like a locker room smell so that's why I don't like to eat down here.
