    #9 Monte Cristo

I had really high hopes for this place based on the 4.5 star average. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I ordered the # 9 Monte Cristo. The description said "Chicken Breast, Mozzarella, Bacon, and Cream Cheese. Served on Homemade Garlic Bread (Hot)" I expected it to be a somewhat flavorful sandwich with the garlic bread, but there wasn't even a hint of anything garlic related on this sandwich. It was extremely bland. There wasn't much bacon either. I thought for being a $15 sandwich, I'd get a lot more. My husband's sandwich was the #18 Gambino, a meatball sub. It was ok/average. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing on an off day. I will give them another chance.

Uncle Giuseppe's ain't messin' around. This is Boise's most authentic Italian deli. My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite and left astonished that this place isn't talked about more. We arrived around 11:30 am on a Saturday to quite a few patrons. I'm glad I studied the menu online beforehand because it would have taken me 15 minutes to figure out my order. Every single sandwich sounded bomb. I bellied up to #16 Italian Giuseppe's (prosciutto, capocollo, sopressata, salami, mortadella, provolone, basil, roasted red peppers, oil dressing and balsamic vinegar). It tasted like it was made straight out of a New York deli. The freshest meat and cheese combined with that delicious balsamic was reminiscent of fun times in the Big Apple. My better half chose the #7 Frank Sinatra (prosciutto, cappi ham, hot capocollo, hot sopressata, mozzarella, peppers lettuce, tomato, onion serviced on homemade garlic bread). The couple bites I was able steal were phenomenal. It was similar to mine with a lot more kick. The garlic bread was delicious! While waiting in line, we fell victim to the yummy Italian Sandwich Cookies just staring at us. We got a good, varied bunch for only $13.00 which included Occhi di Bue (Italian Jam Cookies, Butter Cookies, Pizelle that we were told were "fresh from New York." We ate them all by the end of the day. They were SO GOOD. You can also grab authentic cooking items in the store, including that amazing balsamic vinaigrette and enormous pasta shells for stuffing. That's all I grabbed but I wanted so much more! Highly recommend! Sorry, my pictures suck. Forgot a knife to get that essential cross section smh.

The staff here is super friendly and take great care of you. They have baked goods as well as a great selection of sandwiches. They also have pasta, chocolates and bottled sodas as well as some other items as well. I was not in here for very long but the short while I was I couldn't stop looking around at all the items the offered. I got the #16 Giuseppe favorite and it was delicious. Loaded with meat, perfect amount of balsamic vinegar and oil, fresh tomatoes and lettuce, and fresh red peppers. Excited to go back to try another sandwich off their menu. I got my order to go, but they have table seating if you'd like to eat your meal there.

The forget about it and the meat ball sub, 2 great sandwhich choices both were a 10/10

Food was good. A little bland for us but in general can't complain. We do go back every once in a while just to change up our food options.

A reservation was made and we made our way in Saturday to celebrate. My husband and I were late arriving cause of work. But my family and friends got drinks and apps started. I wasn't expecting them to wait but I'm happy that they did! The drinks and apps kept them at bay till we arrived. The venue is stunning! I love the decor here. I have always been intrigued with European vintage decor and this restaurant is beautifully devoted decorated with this kind of esthetic. Such a romantic setting. The rich deep red wall. The ornate vintage frames. The plants. It's truly a beautiful set up. After my husband and I got settled in and drinks ordered, we got dinner placed. I got 2 orders of meatballs and my husband got the seafood pasta. While food was being worked on, everyone shared the bread and balsamic olive oil dip that was on the table. I heard the bread was good. I didn't get a chance to try it since it was communal. Our meals were slowly trickling out. My meatballs looked amazing! My husband's plate looked fabulous. You can see the shrimp, mussels, clams.... We all became quiet and started on our meals. My meatballs were huge! I have had meatballs at other restaurants and have been hungry still. The size of these babies let me know I was not going to have that issue. It was nicely covered in marinara. A hearty covering of parmesan. Everything about the meatballs were great! I have severe fomo so of course I had to try my husband's plate. I tried a couple of his penne. I was really thrown back at the heat of the sauce. I tried another bite and it was still spicy. The spice was something neither one of us were expecting. Before I say anything to our server, I did look over the menu to see if we missed anything in the description of the dish. No chili was listed. Nothing about it being garnished with chili flakes. From reading the menu, no spice was described in the dish. My husband has a real sensitive pallet so I asked the manager/owner why spice wasn't indicted in the menu. We wouldn't have ordered it if there was. The manager said they can remove the sauce and add new sauce that didn't have chili flakes in it. "It would make it less spicy." I was actually surprised he didn't suggest a new dish that didn't have heat in it. We were complaining about the heat and I honestly don't think replacing sauce that has spice in it with new sauce with spice will do anything.... but hey, we went with it. The second dish was made and dropped off. Unfortunately, the sauce was still spicy and my husband could barely eat it. He ate the seafood which was a few pieces of shrimp, clams, bay scallops, mussels and fish. This dish was drowned in this sauce so there was no way to eat the seafood with the sauce. This dish is 34 bucks and my husband could barely finish the seafood. Our server was kind and got me birthday dessert. The chocolate cake was killer good! It wasn't overly sweet. The frosting was rich in chocolate and the cake was super moist. I only took a couple bites and took the rest home. I was not going to leave this bad boy behind. We spent a little over 70 dollars on dinner to have my husband leave hungry. I came home and made him a second dinner. Nothing more disappointing than spending that much money just to come home and eat again. Money is tight for everyone so the fact that we chose to come here and spend our heard earned money to have my husband hungry just makes my heart sad. Overall, my meatballs and cake were good. Service was great. The venue is very pretty. But, having my husband eat a meal that was poorly described in the menu is just disappointing and having him leave husband is upsetting. I'm happy I got to try it out but I don't think we will be hitting up this joint again any time soon.

From the moment we walked in, you could tell this was a true family-run restaurant. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and our waitress was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and happy to share recommendations for places to check out around Boise. The food was so good that we completely forgot to take pictures before digging in, which honestly says everything. We started with the Caesar salad, which was solid, but the stars of the meal were the entrées. My husband ordered the shrimp Alfredo, and I had the Rosemary Chicken Formaggio. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and homemade. Somehow, it was even better the next day as leftovers. My husband's favorite part of the meal was actually the rosemary focaccia loaf they bring out with oil and vinegar. Simple, but absolutely delicious. If you're visiting Boise and looking for great Italian food, Luciano's is absolutely worth the stop. We'd happily come back the next time we're in town.

I ended my dining experience with another server finishing our service and a chat with the manager. The service we received that night was totally unacceptable. My friend wanted pasta for her birthday lunch. As reluctant as I was to suggest this place, I did. It's a middle point for the both of us. And maybe, just maybe this place has gotten better with their customer service. I arrived before my friend. I thought I'd grab us a table and a drink while I was waiting for her. Walked into the entrance. I was looked at and passed by the older server with dark brown hair. She came back out from the bar area and said "to go?". No, I was planning on dining here. She walks off and doesn't say two words to me. She stood there after she walked off like I knew what she was doing. I guess I was supposed to follow her? I feel like if you are so miserable at your job, then you should consider finding another gig. She sat me and I ordered an ice tea with extra lemon when my server greeted me. My ice tea came shortly before my friend arrived. It was humorous the slices of lemon that was served to me. They were on the brink of being rotten. The peel was all dried out. The pulp of the lemon was mushy and discolored. How in your right mind do you serve this to your customers? I would be so embarrassed as a server and a business owner if I pushed food out like this to my customers. If I wouldn't eat it, I would never serve it. Our server finally got to us and we got orders taken. I ordered spinach fettuccine with alfredo sauce. I did ask if some spinach can be mixed into my pasta. I love veggies with my pasta. For my side I got a salad with a balsamic vinegrett and my friend gave me her soup which was clam chowder. Soup and salad was dropped off first. We also go a little basket of garlic bread. The salad was fresh. It had a light helping of the balsamic vinegrett. It would have been tastier if it was dressed a little more. I will have to say the clam chowder was phenomenal! It was hearty and creamy. Beautiful chunks of clams and potatoes. It was savory and rich. It would be perfect on a really cold day. Dipping the garlic bread into the soup was the best! My lunch came at the right time. I was done with both my soup and salad so I can totally focus on my lunch. My dish looked good until i started mixing my pasta around. I noticed that the spinach I added was raw! Like, the chef made my pasta, forgot to add my spinach and just threw it in. I didn't even know what to think. How does a chef not take pride in their dish and just throw raw spinach at the last minute? Unfortunately the raw spinach cooled my dish so it was warm. I asked my server if she can just nuke it. If the chef couldn't even cook my spinach the first time, I wouldn't want him to go the extra mile for me the second time. My second plate of pasta came out. They "made me a new one". Night and day from my photos. My second round of pasta was hot, had more sauce and my spinach was cooked. If I could have gotten my first plate like this in the first place I wouldn't have had any issues. The second plate was good. The pasta was nicely cooked and coated by the alfredo. I had a couple bites but honestly lost my appetite. My pasta looked decent and I had no interest in eating it, horrible customer service can do that to me. I really wanted to have a good lunch here with my friend for her birthday. I left embarrassed that I even suggested this place. From my initial non hello to my raw spinach and sub par service, I remember vividly why I stayed away from this place. We used to celebrate mothers day here every year and even our last mothers day brunch our server was rude. I guess if you want decently priced Italian food with horrible service, Louie's is your joint. You'd think being a local joint, you'd try your hardest to keep local customers happy. I don't see myself recommending or eating at this joint any time soon.

WILL BE CLOSING FOR GOOD ON JUNE 27, 2025. See owner's gracious farewell notice inserted below…read more If you want to bid farewell to Stuffed Olive you have another 3 weeks to do it. The good news in the sad news is that this will be turned over to a father / daughter team who will open a new concept here. The maybe not so good news is that in a community awash in chain restaurants on this side of Boise, I think the concept mentioned, Potholder Cafe, is a small California based chain. "To our dear Stuffed Olive Family: a heartfelt thank you to our incredible community. After 20 wonderful years, The Stuffed Olive is closing its doors on Friday, June 27th. This is a bittersweet moment for us. Running a restaurant like The Stuffed Olive has been our life's passion and our greatest joy; but it also has demanded everything we have and more. After pouring our hearts and souls into this beloved establishment for so many years, it's time for us to take a step back, to breathe, and to discover what's next. Most importantly, it's time for us to be truly present for ourselves and for our family. The Restaurant space is being handed over to a wonderful Father/Daughter team who are excited to start a new chapter in our space. They intend to bring their concept: The Potholder Cafe, a breakfast and lunch eatery into the Eagle dining scene. Alongside their new recipes will be some old favorites from the TSO menu. We're grateful that the legacy of TSO being a locally-owned, family-run space will continue with this new duo.
