My family and I visited Corolla this evening (06/18/25) as a party of 7. We were told there would be about a one-hour wait, which we were perfectly fine with. While waiting at the bar, the bartender mentioned that she could seat us at a nearby table. We double-checked with her, letting her know we were still far down the waitlist, but she assured us the table was for us and even brought us menus. However, about 5-10 minutes later, a host approached us and told us we had taken someone else's table. They made us get up, and we chose to leave. We just arrived & was looking for a place to eat some din-din. All other spots stopped seating @8:30, super surprising for a beach resort but Uncle Ike's took us in like kings & queens! We were a party of nine & Miami (the bartender) was on point & Tiffany, our server who normally hosts, took amazing care of us!!! We had Grapefruit crushes, beer & wine to drink and fish & chips, fish tacos, wings, chicken sandwich, & crab cake sandwich for dinner. They were setting up for Karaoke & they guy that ran it was awesome too. All in all the food was delicious, the ambiance was fun & the service was outstanding. We will be back for sure! My friend recommend Uncle Ike's after trying their Crabby wings. Unfortunately, I haven't eaten seafood in over 2 decades but I figured that their other wings and dishes would be just as good. And wow, they did not disappoint. Their Garlic Parm wings were delicious!! The wings are basically drowned in butter, garlic, and cheese, so how could they not be amazing, right? I also had their Double fried chicken dish, which was just as good. I was pretty full by the time it came out, but their mashed potatoes were addicting! Definitely recommend this place! read more

I rarely write a negative review but this is still bothering me. We brought up a food allergy to our server and he laughed in our face and told us that he is super busy and if we want him to check an allergy, then we will have to wait until he serves his other tables. We said yes, we do want you to check and he instantly got angered and frustrated with us. He was so mad that he walked away with a stomp and ended up tripping and falling. He came back to us 30 minutes later to tell us he has no idea about the ingredients in the food. We could not enjoy our food after that, as he was blatantly rude to us. Initially, we were the only ones in the bar so I figured our order would come out right away. Our waiter was mildly suggestive with menu options. I noticed however the other waitress was extremely attentive to her tables throughout the patrons' dining experiences. We were not given any utensils just napkins and a few plates when our order arrived. I ordered the crabfries and wings, which the crabfries were luke warm and hard. I came here with my family for dinner on our vacation in the Outer Banks. We were seated in the back room which is dedicated to large groups. The restaurant has a traditional sports bar atmosphere with TVs displaying different sports on all sides of the room. The food was good, however there were several problems with my meal that I could not overlook considering the high prices. For starters, I ordered the Crabby Wings. The wings were nicely seasoned with old bay and a savory roasted red pepper aioli. The dish was also composed of fresh and tasty chunks of crab meat mixed in with the wings. The starter dish was awesome and it was my favorite order of the night. For the entrees, I shared the Fried Shrimp Platter, Ike's Famous Fish Tacos, and the Seafood Platter. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Platter for myself, and I requested the shrimp be served Firecracker Style. The vegetable and shrimp components of the dish were good and well cooked; however, I was disappointed with my mashed potatoes because they were refrigerator-cold. It appeared that they forgot to reheat/ microwave it before plating the dish because the mashed potatoes served on the other dishes at our table were warm. I also tried Ike's Famous Fish Tacos. The tacos had nice large chunks of fish but the components of the dish were bland and underwhelming. The fish tacos were standard tasting and overpriced compared to the fish tacos at most of the other seafood restaurants in the area. The last entree I tried was the Seafood Platter. The fish and shrimp were fresh, but they were also underwhelming because I had hoped for more prominent flavors and seasoning. The jumbo lump crab cake was good and I have no complaints about how it was cooked. However, for a 29-dollar seafood platter I expected better cooking and more flavor for the fish and shrimp. For dessert, I shared the Fried Oreos with my group. The Oreos were good, however the dish brings to mind the phrase "less is more". The hot, deep-fried Oreos were placed on top of a plate of ice cream and copious amounts of whip cream. The heat melted the ice cream and whipped cream which left the deep-fried Oreos cooled and soggy. I believe a simple fix would be to cut back on the whipped cream and have the ice cream plated separate from the hot Oreos-- either in the corner of the plate or in a separate bowl. Overall, the food at Ike's is good. The Crabby Wings were the highlight of my dinner. However, for the high prices I expected better cooking in the entrees. read more

My party of 7 had a short wait but there are a few shops around to entertain ourselves so that wasn't an issue. Once seated the staff was very pleasant and took our order fairly quick. The only issue we had was fairly significant but was corrected. The food took a long time and when it arrived most of them were cold. The 3 meals we sent back had cold mashed potatoes, beans and the steaks were over done. My guess, being in restaurants for my early years, was the one very hot meal got forgotten, dropped, or whatever and they held up the rest to catch up. So instead of having one meal come out late and comping just it, we had 1 hot meal, 3 warm meals and 3 freshly remade meals and they took 50% off the whole bill. The food tasted great, the staff was very nice and we will go back. My opinion it was a poor decision to try to get it all out together but it's easy to see that from my chair. read more

Horrible service!! The waiter came outside and told us all the negatives (what they were out of) and that was just the start. After we gave him our drink orders (some alcoholic), he made a nasty comment about us being disappointed about the negatives. Then when he brought the non alcoholic drinks out first, he made another nasty comment about the alcoholic drinks we picked and walked away. My group then decided this establishment didn't deserve our money so we went inside and gave that waiter money for the non alcoholic drinks and said we weren't staying during to his shitty comments. read more

Uncle Ike's is a family dinner tradition when we vacation on the OBX. It is a dive bar that gives off coastal seaside vibes. We had a group of 9 that they were able to accommodate immediately. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and patient with us and our group of four children. The food is tasty. I ordered the crabby wings as an appetizer. Wings topped with crab meat, old bay & roasted red pepper aioli. It was made perfectly. Mouth watering delicious. As my entree I ordered Blackened Mahi Tacos. On two tortillas stuffed with mahi. Uncle Ike's has been a destination for us for years on our yearly OBX getaway. very much a laid back, beach bar vibe. The staff is always very friendly and very accommodating, seemingly willing to seat any party that shows up. On this last visit, the chef and the owner were both serving tables as they are still staffing up for the season. It didn't matter at all, as the food and drinks came out right on time. We were able to chat with them and relay some of our past great experiences, including sharing a picture of us hanging out with the owner's Mom a few years back. A plus is that there are plenty of TVs to watch the current sports. I was able to watch the Phillies The menu is full of options, the food is always top notch and there's a great selection of beers and beachy cocktails. Go there! read more

They all had on the coolest face shields that the owner had specially made for the staff. We had the fried pickles and crab dip for appetizer. Both were fine, nothing to rave about. I had the chicken crab sandwich and it was very good. Good amount of crab and the sauce was yummy. 2 people had the fried shrimp platter and enjoyed. 2 people had the fried chicken dinner on reco from the waiter and were really pleased. They said it was very good. Last person had the catch of the day, which was Mahi and she enjoyed that. The best thing about our visit was our waiter Milan. Full of character and energy. My review is based solely on a to-go order we had while vacationing in Corolla this summer. We had been told that we had to try Uncle Ike's when we were in Corolla. Time got away from us so on the last day of vacation, we decided to try it for lunch takeout. We ordered fish tacos and Buffalo fried shrimp, each getting our fries made crabby. We also got an order of fried pickles. These three items were over $70 before tip. I had a total of 5 shrimp in my order which I felt was so lackluster for the price of it. Nothing was bad or tasted horrible but between the price and the amount of food, I would never go back. I'm hoping that the portions are more reasonable when you dine in. I would certainly expect that for the price that you pay. read more

Have visited and eaten here for several years. This years visit was terrible from the start. 15 minute wait turned into an hour. 4 adults and 4 kids. Had to find a waitress. Thank you Taylor! she was able to seat us. After another 1/2 hour of sitting no drink or food order was taken. 2 adult male waiters walked past us several times. Once again Taylor noticed us and took our order. 40 minutes later half the food comes another 15 for the rest. Cold fries for the kids. $13 dollar kid meals and everything was cold. $167 dollars in food and 4 drinks. Another $30 for a tip. Very sad not to see the owner in the restaurant like every year. During the summer this place was a welcomed experience for 8 people. It is difficult to get a table for eight and since we had three children with us, Uncle Ike's really was a life saver. Tonight, however, we needed a table for 2 and that part went well. Our sever was quick and courteous but he did not talk quite loud enough for me to hear his descriptions of menu items. I decided to get a large salad and add Mahi Mahi (fish of the day). The Mahi Mahi was great. The lettuce was old and there were many parts that were brown and less than crisp. I enjoyed the fish tacos during last summer's visit (June, 2022). Tonight the server continued to talk with a very low voice and I could not understand him. The other customers at tables across from us were louder than he. All in all this was the first disappointment of an Outer Banks experience. read more

Fish tacos are the move here !! These are a little pricey ($18) but after you order you'll realize why. An order comes with two massive tacos, stuffed to the brim with fresh fish. Both soft tortillas sit above yet another tortilla - the base tortilla is crispy and fried. The order also comes with a side of rice and beans. You can opt to have your fish grilled, fried or blackened. The fish is super fresh and well prepared. This definitely seems like the move here (many other tables around us were ordering). Otherwise, there are still plenty of other seafood entrees, plus salads, sandwiches and burgers. I had some sort of vodka orange cocktail with freshly squeezed OJ - once I saw the fresh juice being squeezed I was sold. It was super refreshing. The interior is cute and divey. Super no frills and you can tell it's a place where the locals go. Staff is attentive and friendly, and because it's pretty large on the inside we didn't have much trouble snagging a table on a Friday night. Went out to dinner as a family of 12 last night. This was a great find thanks to the good reviews on Yelp! Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Atmosphere 3/5 The crab cakes are absolutely amazing! Almost 100% crab meat. We ordered extra crab cakes because they were THAT good! I had the strawberry, mandarin orange, salmon salad with balsamic vinaigrette, which was light and refreshing. Half of the table had the Seafood Platter with mahi mahi, crab cake, grilled shrimp and garlic green beans. They all thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Some tried the Crabby Wings and Chicken & Waffles, which they also raved about their meals. The family finished with the Funnel Cake Oreos for dessert.
