Best duck that I've had in years. It was light, crispy, and well balanced with the red curry. We'll be back next year.

I have visited Za Onn numerous times for takeout. Tonight was our first time dining in. They have updated the interior and it is quite cute. Both bright and cheery. My husband and I were looking for an affordable night out, and because this place is BYOB, it fit the bill. For starters, we had edamame and vegetable dumplings called jeebjay. I highly recommend the dumplings, the dough was perfect. We shared two main dishes: pineapple fried rice with chicken and pad lah nah with shrimp. Both were outstanding. The pad lah nah had wide soft noodles combined with the slightly crunchy broccoli in a slightly thick broth. The flavors and textures were excellent. The fried rice was so good. My husband said we're coming back here next week so we can try other varieties! The service was excellent. And I know this is not a typical part of a review, but the ladies room was immaculate.

Za Onn Thai House in Wallingford, CT You will love the calming atmosphere and quaintness of this wonderful Thai restaurant. Great service and fantastic food. Highly recommended.

Ambiance always adorable and tastefully decorated. The owner is amazing so sweet hard worker. The food is consistent enough that we probably eat here or take out 2-4x a month.

Nice little place and very tasty! I had delicious spring rolls. And The dinner was Pad Lad Nah which was a soup type of dish with veggies and tender beef. Delicious!

Tom yum soup with a side of rice

Delicious!! Had Tom Yum soup with a side of jasmine rice. Cute space and friendly staff. Also enjoyed one of the more unique takes on calamari that I've ever had. Have been back a few times and everything has been very good.

Large portions and good Thai food. This place has been a go to for me when I'm in the Wallingford area for a couple of years. The owner is also very nice. I usually get this as takeout but had a good experience the one time I dined in as well (dining area is on smaller side but good an a nice break in the AC!) usually quiet inside.

The location in in between two pizza places on the North Haven side of Rt 5 in Wallingford. It's our go-to take out place. Recently we dined in and it was even better. Their tom kha is so flavorful. The green curry beef noodle dish was huge and delicious with the right amount of spice. Unassuming simplicity inside with more take-away orders than diners, it seemed. But dining area was nice. I've dined here years ago and it was different. I imagine they changed owners or renovated in some way, because it's extra good.

Food- spring rolls are always good. However, I will say my go to is generally the pad Thai. Sometimes it is spot on and other times it almost tastes like there are different cooks, and it where it tastes like it came from a wok that is too hot/singed flavor and the right flavors just aren't there. I did notice they changed to more biodegrading to go products which is nice though! My family member got the Massaman Currt and reported it was not as good as usual, this time around it was very soupy with minimal spice. I've never eaten inside but this looks like a small hole in the wall spot from the outside , it is very quaint. Overall, return out of convenience when visiting the area from time to time but wish there were more consistency with when those dishes have been closer to their best!

It wasn't too busy for lunch and we were seated pretty quickly. The restaurant is nicely decorated and there were plenty of tables inside and out. Parking wasn't too bad. We all got the bento box and some appetizers. For the appetizers we got fried tofu and dumplings. Both were delicious. I wanted to try something different and decided on the pumpkin curry. It was creamy, nutty and warm. I am glad I picked it. The spring roll was crispy and the salad was fresh. My coworkers got the mango curry and peanut sauce. They both enjoyed their meals. Nice little sit down restaurant with a decent amount of seating, friendly staff and excellent food. What I'm happy about is the fact that their portion sizes are bigger than the last time I was here. This place has always made impressive food, but dishes were small and prices were high. This place is still more expensive than their only competition in town, that being Thai Spice, but at least you get more food for your dollar now. Thai Spice still has better value and is very good in its own right, but Bangkok Blvd has the crown for flavor. My tofu pad Thai with no egg was very impressive. Tofu, noodles and vegetables were all fresh and high quality. Sauce was delicious and I liked the texture of the noodles in particular. Just enough onions and scallions to enhance the flavor without overpowering. My pad see eaw with no egg has nice thick, chewy noodles and a savory sauce. I didn't care for the leafy veggies because they were bitter, so I ate them first before enjoying everything else. Still loved it though. It's up to you; Thai Spice is a nice little hole in the wall takeout spot that has lower prices and very good food, but Bangkok is on another level with their flavor if you're willing to pay a little more.

Merely peckish, we didn't order as much as we ordinarily would have. However, what we did order hit the spot, and resoundingly so. We ordered one cup of tom yum with coconut milk, one cup of tom yum with clear broth, spring rolls, and chive patties. The tom yum with coconut milk was almost like a curry: very filling and creamy. The tom yum with clear broth was spicy, with every sip bursting with flavour. The portions were absolutely gigantic, and we had plenty left over. The spring rolls were perfectly hot and perfectly crispy. The filling was also delicious. The chive patties were also fried to a crisp, and were my favourite item on the menu. The food took a relatively long time to come, but service was very friendly. The ambiance was warm, with some interesting East Asian artwork. I'm always excited about all-vegan places, just because I can eat everything listen on the menu and don't have to parse carefully to figure out what I can consume. Simultaneously, I hold these establishments to high standards: such restaurants need to be truly exceptional to thrive. My dining partner and I were delighted with our experience at Aroy, and hope to return when we're next in Connecticut.
