I love uncle joes pizza. This is my first time trying this location. The inside was clean, but the girl who was working the front was not friendly. Like zero hospitality. Once I got the food it was pretty good, I thought the Italian sub would be more cheesy. It was pretty dry. And a side of ranch is $1.00! Wow! My friend has C.P. - due to this, her speech is slightly affected. She ordered a pizza from them just a little while ago and before they hung up the phone she overheard them declare that she was drunk and the delivery driver stated to her that his manager had told him to be careful because she was drunk. While I understand finding good labor is tough, finding a better manager who will lead by example and be a better human would be nice. When I called to advocate on behalf of my friend, I overheard the manager (whom I now understand to be Malachai) tell Simm to put me on hold. I was on hold for nearly 10 minutes when Simm was directed to relay the massage that the manager was too busy to talk to me. I am gobsmacked. This Uncle Joe's is in a fantastic spot, right next to the UAA/providence area, meaning it is a very short drive/manageable walk if you go to school or work in the area. The sitting area inside is never overly crowded, especially when stopping by for lunch, which makes for a quiet, pleasant experience. THE PRICE. You really can't beat the by-the-slice menu pricing for lunch options, as the portions are quite large even when only getting one slice. The pizza itself is of good quality (though maybe more snobbish pizza fans would disagree. I'm of the mind that a pizza that tastes good, and doesn't give you food poisoning, is good pizza). The crusts are nice and not too thick or thin. The selection of pizzas and of toppings is vast, meaning anyone can probably find something they will enjoy. read more

Delivery driver not wearing a mask. Delivery driver didn't do drop off. Delivery driver wanted me to sign credit card receipt which other food establishments have suspended during pandemic. Delivery driver not social distancing. We decided to throw the pizza and the cheesecakes in the dumpster because if the delivery driver wasn't taking COVID seriously then chances are high that the restaurant staff wasn't either. My sister liked the crust which was fluffy and good tasting but I prefer mine thin and crispy. We also split the spinach salad, fresh greens, candied walnut (yum) and craisins. Several times I have walked in to pick up an online order and have stood at the front counter for 5+ minutes waiting for someone to address me. This makes me very sad to write this. Usually my family and I have a wonderful meal here at Uncle Joe's on Tudor. However, tonight was most disappointing. We sat at our table for over an hour waiting for our pizzas and there were other customers that arrived after us that got their food first. And then we had asked what the delay was in the back and they said that they had burned our first pizza. We understood that but we wound up waiting for another half an hour for the next pizza to come out. And that was a bit burnt. But what was very kind was one of the waitstaff had given us a free Caesar salad for our long wait time. And as an observation, there was a large group of individuals, that had waited for their takeout orders for a very long time, at least over 45 minutes. They had told us that the reason the delay was so long is because their ovens are not working correctly. It seems to me that there was plenty of staff this Friday night, but the delays were in the kitchen. The pizzas and the Caesar salad were really delicious. It's just the wait time was ridiculous. They were NOT super crispy as I best like them but certainly "good enough" that I could enjoy them - not soggy, not crispy. The BLUE CHEESE dressing here is TERRIBLE and cheap tasting. Just get ranch. If you want amazing blue cheese, get it from Wing Stop. It's EPIC. Uncle Joe's bundled the carrots and celery in the box with the hot wings. They keep a barrier so they don't mix but they are open to the heat and steam of the wings still. This cooked my celery and carrots a little and made them unpleasant to eat. I suggest they package them seperately (like Wing Stop wisely does). It was a little confusing ordering them on line as what you're ordering in terms of combos etc, is not intuitive at all. Sauces vs Rubs is not clear and combos is listed first option so it looks like that's it until you scroll down the page to see other elections. I think they should re-vamp this part entirely. My H said the pizza was "soggy" (Meatball, mushroom, Black olive). I tasted it and it was pretty limp. Not the best 'za I've had from them or elsewhere. The salad I had, walnut and spinach was good. The dressing vinagrette (again) was just mediocre. I like Joe's but tonight just wasn't their night. I'd order again though - just try something else. Uncle Joe's is a good place to go when you don't want cheap takeout pizza but want to avoid the chaos that is Moose's Tooth. Like all the other locally owned pizza places, prices are rather high, but you get good quality and good portion sizes. The menu has a good variety from simple cheese pizza to the more adventurous Greek salmon pizza. Main problem with this location is that service is very slow, both in the restaurant and with delivery. Whenever I walk in there's usually not an employee readily available. Something about the atmosphere is dreary, probably because of the dim lighting. But it's open pretty late so there's that. During my last visit my friend and I ordered mozzarella sticks and a pizza, half Gyro and half Reindeer Marinara. There was maybe one other table occupied, but it took 20 minutes to get the mozzarella sticks. Pretty sure it doesn't take that long to fry cheese. It also took forever to get the check because the one employee who was there was elsewhere. We spent a good hour there at least. Thankfully we did enjoy the food. Solid pizza place, but I'd recommend taking out from here as it's generally going to be faster than ordering delivery or dining in. read more

After a long day of sightseeing, our group of 8 needed some sustenance, but all the restaurants we tried were a 1.5+ hour wait. We stumbled upon Uncle Joe's and were beyond happy. The staff at the front was more than accommodating, helped us with orders, and even provided a military discount! The pizza arrived and let me just say wow! The chicken pesto was amazing, as was the BBQ chicken. Overall this is a place worth visiting!
