Great service and excellent food! Shoutout to Hailey our server. She does a great job making sure that everyone is getting great service. Walking in the restaurant, there is a sign that clearly says to seat yourself. Plenty of seats for everyone. We had the Super Sub. It's so good and huge portions. This is our go-to restaurant.

    Garlic parmesan chicken wings (10)

Food came exactly as ordered, and was hot and ready when I arrived. Wings are crunchy, well seasoned, served as a dry wing. I ordered the garlic parmesan wings. I liked how the garlic and Italian seasoning blended well with Parm cheese sprinkled on top and it was not overly garlicky. I liked it this was. Reminded me of how wings are made in Buffalo, NY. I also order the Guido Special pizza with pepperoni, sausage, black olives, and mushrooms. This is my ideal pizza order and was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu as a normal pizza. The price was also more affordable than if I added all the toppings onto a 2 topping pizza. This pizza was great- thick hand tossed crust that is crunchy on the bottom but soft and chewy on the inside. The pizza has a good layer of chesse and sauce. The sauce is on the sweeter side but paired well with the toppings. The toppings were ample and covered the whole pizza. A big plus for me! First time coming here but I expect to come back to try some of their other offerings. Saved about $4 bucks not ordering through the app but calling the restaurant directly. If ordering late at night, plan to pick up at the backdoor between the strip malls -it is lit and plenty of parking for a pick up. Look for all the cars parked back there and that is the spot.

    Not great spaghetti

What a disappointment. When we used to live on this side of town, we loved Guido's. I'll be honest, the food has never been great, but the portions were historically generous, and the quirky atmosphere and friendly service made up for the cafeteria quality food. Fast forward to now. We waited for a ridiculous amount of time for our food, which when it arrived was incorrect and gross. The portions were also noticeably smaller. The half the salad bar was empty, and visitors are only allowed one visit WITH A DESSERT PLATE (not even a bowl.) Insulting. The spaghetti was watery. My husband ordered a meatball sub and instead received a calzone that was hard as a rock on the outside and rubbery inside. INEDIBLE. It was also served with potato chips which is just BIZARRE. I can't even understand what the hell is going on here.

All I ate am so full

This place was awesome. The staff was amazing. The food was out of this world. The crust was so firm, crunchy and amazingly good and buttery all around. The price is amazing too not too expensive. I work in the food industry. I'm a chef and I would definitely recommend this place.

It's an Anchorage staple. That being said I don't always think the pizzas are best quality tasting dough, but I do really enjoy the Greek salads. Can't go wrong with the cost or the amount. Older restaurant interior, but that's also part of the charm. Why are there so many weird stock photos that have nothing to do with Guido's or the actual food?

I couldn't stop eating the fries, pizza was delicious also crust is firm and delicious and the ranch is good too. My honey ate the lasagna so fast I couldn't take pic, he loves it.

In the future I think I'd come for an appetizer and a couple of drinks and that's it. I felt the veal was tough on both ordered plates and potentially I would have preferred chicken. That being said the sauce was great. The grappa sauce had amazing flavor and the Marsala sauce also had great flavor. Plus the funghi appetizer was great with the bread. All of it was enjoyable enough for a return visit. This spot has very friendly staff, they move at a classic Alaska pace. Meant for sitting down and enjoying the company of someone you're eating with but not designed for getting in and out the door quickly. Come with the intention to get things as they come and enjoy the ride.

I was looking for a quiet place to eat good food, have a beer, and zone out for a minute. Sorrento's at lunch is the spot.I happened to be the only dine-in customer, so I basically got first-class service, which I have a feeling happens no matter how busy they are. The place is clean and a little dated, but in the absolute best, nostalgic way. It feels like an old-school neighborhood restaurant that has earned the right not to reinvent itself every five years. No trendy gimmicks, no loud music, no rush -- just a comfortable place to take a load off in the middle of a busy day and actually enjoy lunch. And the food fit the place perfectly: simple, quick and flavorful. Not a lot of frills, but that's the thing about consistent, old-school eateries -- they don't need them. I had the lamb gyro with a fresh salad, and it was exactly what I wanted. Fresh, satisfying and just plain good. This was my first time at Sorrento's, which seems almost ridiculous considering how long they've been part of Anchorage. Now that I've discovered lunch, I guess the next order of business is coming back hungry and tackling a big pasta dinner. Great food, great service, cold beer, zero pretension. Perfect. Try it for lunch!

The restaurant has a nice set up with tables a booth's. We were a party of 4and our server was Marylou. Marylou s great handling our table making suggestions and with her timing of our food. We ordered fried calamari appetizer which was good. It wasn't a large dish and there were no Calamari "rings" on our plate, only strips which was a little surprising, but we enjoyed them. We also each got a nice salad before our dinners. I ordered the Ceaser salad which was delicious. I asked Marylou for a small (3) amount of anchovies to put on the salad. She came with a dish with I guess a can full of them. Not her fault, she stated that she had to make it a side order do that was hire it was done. No problem, I love anchovies and since they were there, I was not going to let them go to waste!!! lol! Dinner then was broght to the table, here is where the review is lowered to 3 stars. My wife and friends ordered this chicken dish (sorry don't recall the name, I think it was Marsala) and it was delicious and a nice serving. My friend also got the chicken parm which he enjoyed. However, my order was nothing like I was expecting. When I go to an Italian restaurant, I usually order Veal Parmigiana. This is my go to favorite. When my veal arrived, it looked totally not what I was expecting. The menu says veal scallopini lightly breaded and fried. Scallopini is a thing cut of meat. What I got was 2 ground veal patties (like hamburger) covered in sauce and topped with cheese. I started to eat it and immediately safe that this was not veal cutlet (scallopini) and ground veal. For the price I was paying, I was not going to accept this so I sent the dish back. Marylou was so nice about it and took care of me without a problem. She was kind of surprised about the dish as well. She gave me reasons why it was served the way it was but I will not share them here. If the menu says Scallopini (cutlet) then that is what should be served. Don't change it up on the customer hoping to pass it off as a Veal Parmigiana dish. Maybe being from NY I have a different expectation about this but I don't think that is the case here. I ordered the lasagna instead which was ok. Again, our service was great and the food was good as well except for my dish and this is why I am giving them 3 stars, which I rarely give.

Both are packed with flavor. Whether ordering in or ordering to go, keep in mind it takes quite a while--almost 10 to 15 mins--for the staff to make your sandwich, so I wouldn't recommend that you stop here in you're in a hurry because you're not going to get it out fast. In this case, call ahead about 30 mins or so if you're picking up. The prices are a little high, but it's worth the price for the quality of the food you're getting, which I can't say for most restaurants in the present era (2020s for those that are reading this in the 2030s and 2040s, if this platform still exists then lol!) Either way, the quality is HIGH and the flavor factor? HIGH! The Classic Piadina is very fresh tasting and comes with greens. It only comes in one size, so it's a little small for me. Still delicious! The Nonni is a pretty large sandwich, if you're getting the full sandwich. The onions combine with the meat enhances the flavors. The building that Originale is in presents itself as a very quaint and relaxed lunch spot with bright colors and large windows. It's a place you can go to sit and talk with friends. Our server was patient, and very pleasant, bearing in mind that one of our party was a crotchety old man. Prior to ordering, he and i arrived first, and were perusing the menu, and he was relating the items he liked, and what he planned to order. He told me he liked both Shrimp Scampi and Shrimp Sinatra. Our other 2 attendees arrived and we ordered - i got Italian Chicken, which came with Soup or Salad, and Garlic Bread. Crotchety Old Man ordered Shrimp Scampi, I'll leave out the other 2 in the party, because I'm the reviewer, and i can only give feedback on what i ate, and my experience. I got the lemon chicken soup, i did like that, it was quite a thick soup, and the citrus flavour was noticeable, but not overpowering. I did get some chunks of chicken in the soup The entrees came out relatively quickly, and IMMEDIATELY there's an issue. Crotchety Old Man announces that he ordered Shrimp Sinatra, and he does not want "that" and he was actually quite rude about it (Hence the name I've given him) the 3 of us and the server told him he had ordered Shrimp Scampi, and he was getting ruder, "Take it away, i don't care what you do with it" and the highly patient server, said she'd have a Shrimp Sinatra made for him. Honestly, I'd have walked off, hence why I'm not a server I did not wait for his entree to be served, as it was WAY past my personal dinnertime, and I'd already been hangry when i got there. Ok, so there was a huge amount of food. Mine was served on fettucine noodles, in a white wine and lemon sauce, with what appeared to be 2 chicken breasts, butterflied. Some parts of the chicken were very tender and juicy, others seemed to be quite tough. The noodles were ok, the sauce was not that creamy, and somewhat lacking. Just ok. The garlic bread - i am not a fan. I like my garlic bread to be made from scratch with real butter, and real garlic, and in my opinion this was not that. I make good garlic bread at home. And it like it made with a french baguette, aka small round slices, with liberal tiny pieces of freshly diced garlic. I rarely use garlic powder or onion powder at home. I prefer real garlic, real onion. I will say that quality beats quantity every time. Serving me a huge pile of food won't impress me. I will not take this home in a box. It's just not worth the calories. Just give me 1 butterflied chicken breast, juicy, tender, well seasoned, over an adequate portion of beautifully cooked noodles, in a perfectly creamy white wine sauce, topped with browned, finely grated Parmigiano Reggiano and my eyes will roll in my head with delight.
