Experienced the new Frisco location tonight for my wife's birthday. We have been eagerly waiting for it to open. The interior decor was exceptional. Both wife and myself write reviews for anywhere that sells margaritas. Uncle Julios so far is the best margaritas we have drank. Please keep in mind that we do not disclose our profession before drinking. Both of us are impressed with the no bottled mix. Everything is cut and pressed fresh. Even the watermelon as we were told today. Let me tell you this is very hard to find. Now the part for me that is not easy to review is the off brand tequila. Drinks definitely have a slight kick. Nothing overwhelming. So our opinion stands that these margaritas are the best so far in DFW. The food was 4.5 out of 5 stars. Atmosphere was not what we like as we like outside sitting. After 3 years of waiting it looks like patio will be finished before July 1st 2024. read more

We have been uncle Julio's fans for years and have been to this location several times. Tonight was absolutely awful. The service was horrible, the ac was out and the food was awful. Our fajitas came with brown and wilted lettuce and guacamole that looked like it had been out for several hours. Unfortunately we won't be back to this location and it makes me sad as we counted down the days for its opening. Edited to add my parents barely made it home before my dad got sick from his tacos. We will definitely never be visiting this restaurant again. read more

Most meals I enjoy I do not enjoy the raw sliced jalapenos. pickles are better and texturally better matched to the dishes red salsa is often too salty to eat and nothing takes the glow off of a good meal than to have to wait a comically long time for the bill read more

Not sure what the hype is but the place is so loud and noisy I couldn't hear my waiter. The food kept us waiting a long time to come , while we would have expected the soup to come right away, it came along with the main course. So what's the point of an appetizer then? The waiter hardly came by to check on us so.. and the young ladies put us near the restrooms when I specified that we didn't want to be seated near restrooms or the kitchen. We went to the new location in Frisco and the food was amazing. My husband and I started going to uncle Julio's two years ago and we go to the Dallas location. Chris Hollowell the server and Gabby the manager make the experience so amazing. Tonight was not the same, not as good as Service and not as good management. We had friends in town from out of state, and they love the food, but disappointed in the service..We will still go to uncle Julio's because, the food is amazing quality, but the Frisco location needs Gabby and Chris Hollowell!! Totally understand it's new and everyone's probably trying to learn, but wanted to give kudos to the Dallas location crew. They are top-of-the-line! We missed you tonight! read more

We enjoyed the chips and salsa - The fajitas were also very good - and the beans and rice were better than most other places we have tried. I would have given this place 5 stars except as we were finishing dinner it seems that that waiter was in a hurry to push us out. I was finishing my last few bites when he asked if we were finished and grabbed the fajita plate. That was okay but he took the salsa too which I wasn't finished eating. The. Just as I was finishing he brought the electronic checkout device and said are you ready to pay. I will be honest I did not like this part of the process they hold the device put it in front of you and then ask you to select a tip which is uncomfortable and again it just felt like they were rushing us out the door before we were even, completely finished. read more

We could not get seated on a Saturday night at 530p. Host/Hostess station was a disaster. No one knew if there was a waitlist, who was on the waitlist or who had made reservations. Please get this fixed. The food is good and the new restaurant is nice, but if you can't get folks seated, not much point in having a restaurant. Lots of people waiting and lots of empty tables. Loved it! The restaurant is beautiful and so cool inside with all the different rooms that split up and make for cozy atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The food was spot on and if you are a long time Uncle Julio's fan, if you don't see your favorite thing on the menu, which has changed, just ask! They were able to meet all of our special requests for some of our old school faves! Food was fresh and hot. We have grown to now love both of the salsa options. Tableside Guacamole was fantastic. We had the nachos especial, beef enchiladas w/ chili sauce (must ask for Chile con Carne / 'carne sauce'), chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce (must ask for sour cream sauce). Beef Fajitas and Chicken Fajitas... best in town! Kitchen manager, Juan, brought our food out. He actually remembered us from another Julio's location. All food was fantastic, obviously a great kitchen team! All meals were amazing. Rice was great. Charro beans were great. Flour tortillas still amazing and freshly made. Very busy...like Julio's was pre Covid days. It felt good...We love that it's staying so busy. Can't wait for the patio to be ready! It's a weekly thing for us if they keep up this great food and service. BTW...We loved all the management team. They stopped by our table several times to check on us and recognized that we were just there a few days prior. Fernando is the GM we met during our first visit then again today. Really love his demeanor and kindness and he stays as busy as a server! Rare to see that kind of hustle from a GM! Impressive. Also met a manager Khurram...we loved him too. Khurram checked on us several times (and tables around us) to be sure our experience was a good one. Julio's has truly stepped us their game! Excellent experience x5 visits in only 2 weeks and we will definitely continue to be regulars. read more

I'm a fan of the chain. About every single one in DFW I frequent. One close to the house, was excited. Location is good. Nice job building it. Decorating was perfect. Seated right away. Server came straight up. Got drinks and appetizers ordered right away. About 30 min later we got to order dinner. Took forever. One of us didn't get any food until everyone else had eaten. We seemed to be forgotten. Server just flat out didn't even acknowledge we were there. Took 45 min to get our next drink order or dessert, check was even longer. Manager, your team is very new and very green. Might do a training program to swap stores to get them with other locations experienced staff. Food was good, staff really struggled. read more

My daughter and I had lunch at Uncle Julio's today. The service was very very slow and the server didn't actually care what we wanted. First of all, any new restaurant in/near Frisco is "on fire" for the first 4 months. We should have known not to go on a Saturday night. The place was at capacity. They sat us right by the (too small) waiting area, so throngs of people waiting were leaning right on the back of our booth in the bar. It is a really pretty and new place. Well appointed and super clean. In contrast to the Allen (75/Stacy) location, this Frisco store is very preferable. It's not campy Tex/Mex. The music was too loud in the bar. The drinks were high-priced but very, very good. The free chips and two types of salsa were appreciated and also very good. The orders took about 32 minutes to come out for our 4x table. The food was excellent but the portions were small leaving the value-to- cost ratio low. I get the high-rent district, but don't imagine going back. Plenty of free parking with a nice outside area to mill about while waiting for a table. The highways are quite loud outside, however. read more

It took over an hour to get our food and the restaurant wasn't super busy. Our waiter had 3 tables and all 3 tables had to keep asking for drink refills and more chips. I had to flag down another waiter that just looked in the room we were in. Our waiter would stand at the computer and never look around to check on his tables. As far as the food, it was okay. I usually visit the Allen location and probably won't be back to this location. Very disappointed in overall experience. read more

We went to this place out of curiosity, and it was absolutely worth it! The inside is beautiful and inviting. The food was 10/10! The service was great too! Had the privilege of attending a sneak peak before the new Frisco location opened. The space is brightly lit and very roomy. It's easy to physically get in and out of the parking lot, which isn't always true near the mall. The food was great, as is typical for Uncle Julio's, and all the front house team were kind, considerate, and attentive to our special requests. Dinner was great. They had an Uncle Julio's back in Atlanta where I am originally from but it was closed down permanently and once I moved here i was excited to see one was here. We had the unfortunate opportunity to eat here the other night and had the WORST service. We had 7:30 reservations and didn't get seated until 8:00. From there we waited until almost 10:30 to even get our food! We had a 4 year old with us during this debacle and though she made it through the evening with a lot of love and entertaining, it shouldn't have had to happen. While waiting 2.5 hours to get entrees, getting drinks wasn't easy either. We had to continuously go up the bar to get our own on a separate tab. If the restaurant had been busy, full, anything to indicate a reason it took so long we didn't see it. It was more than half empty! No visits from the manager on duty, no relief for our wait...and sadly by the time our food arrived we were so full of table crap everyone had to box it up go home! And the orders weren't correct! (Wrong enchiladas, overdone or especially underdone fajitas)! It's a new location that definitely is having serious growing pains!!! read more

1st time there when they first opened... excellent! Taco Tuesday. This last Tuesday went in. Sat at the bar. The bartender was more worried that his replacement was late. The MOD was worthless. We ordered queso from him It took 15 minutes to ask where our queso was. I told the bartender we want our check for the 2 beers. He said what about the queso you orderer!! If it takes 15 minutes for queso i sure as hell not ordering dinner! They have to much competition around to deliver this level of service. We won't be going back. read more

Wow, Uncle Julio's in Frisco is unlike any Uncle Julio's I have ever been to. This place is awful. And I do mean awful. Apathetic service, rude hostesses uninterested management. It is a place that appears to be run by teenagers It is not worth getting into the details of the evening but the food took 45 minutes to appear and it was cold. I tried to speak to the manager about the poor meal and service and he said very smug and dismissive of any concerns of the food and service. He just made excuses and stated they were busy and short staffed. Lots of great Mexican places in Frisco and the DFW area. Please save your time and money and do not go to Uncle Julio's in Frisco. Go to another location or Mi Cocina. It is important to note that this is the 2nd time in a row we have had a bad experience. Shame on me for assuming things would change. read more

Amazing! This place truly cares. We walked in after a long day with my 4yo having a major surgery. They said it was a 20minute wait but then they got word that my son had surgery and they immediately brought us to a table. The service by Daniel was spectacular!! So accommodating even though he had several tables! He was able to get my son's food in quickly so he can eat his first full meal after surgery. We were enjoying the night waiting for our food thankful they were able to do us the favors but they said the wait was too long for the food so they brought us the best desert. My son loved hitting the piñata! The food was VERY good and fresh. Chicken was perfect! Thank you for y'all's love and compassion yall showed us! Will certainly be back. read more

The food is delicious!! We had fajitas, shrimp stuffed with jalapeños and wrapped in bacon. The outdoor patio is beautiful. The server was kind but very slow and unorganized. We were there at 5:00 there were not a lot of customers. Many servers standing around, it would have been nice if the staff standing around doing nothing would have bussed the table, topped off waters , etc. The margaritas were weak! I ordered the overpriced fajitas through Uber eats. There were missing items, and all the containers were leaking or spilled. I did not eat it . The next day I took it to the restaurant. They refused to return my money. They told me to contact Uber, who told me to contact the restaurant. That is unacceptable service. They do not care about customer service. No honest and transparent rating system as the staff when bringing a device at table to have customer make payment,at the step that device prompts rating that the customer should enter a rate, they turned the device and pick a five stars themselves while the customer supposed to do that.I noticed and wanted to hit"continue " bottom , but the waiter tried to deceive me and told nothing more you need to do and turned the device and added another five stars. But the Guadalajara don't bother ordering they give you 3 small pieces of chicken not enough to make one taco same with the beef. How can you say this is for 2 people. Such an amazing experience for a restaurant that hasn't even had their official opening day. I would highly recommend the table side guacamole--- Carlos was attentive, efficient and made it perfectly. Our server, Jae went above and beyond to ensure we had an incredible dining experience. Witnessing the team service throughout our lunch was incredible... you don't see that much anymore. The Chocolate Pinata was delicious and would be great for any celebration or if you are just looking for something fun and different! Every Manager stopped by to introduce themselves and made us feel right at home. My first time here and worst experience ever!! I called in for a To-Go order, ended up ordering the chicken enchiladas. The guy on the phone said that it came with rice/beans and chips/salsa. When I arrive for my To-go order, I tell them my name and the lady just hand me my order and says thanks. I inform her that I haven't paid. She suggested I go to the bar and take care of it. Meanwhile, I could've just left, but I was trying to do the right thing. I get to the bar. The guy is scrambling. Can't even tell me how much the order is. I have cash so give him $25 and tell him to keep the change. I get home and my order is completely wrong!!! Hard yellow Cheese filled enchiladas. No chicken, no salsa, no chips. Hell not even plasticware...I called back and tell them I want a refund. I get my refund and moving forward. I would not recommend this place. Very bad first impression. The manager didn't even offer to remake my food. Even though at that point my appetite was gone. Very inconsiderate and unprofessional. read more
