The one STAR on the menu is the sizzling apple pie. The cinnamon ice cream doesn't over power the crisp fresh apples nor the buttery flakey crust. We were pleasantly surprised to see a spacious seating area. The service was excellent. I even changed my order after it had been submitted, and they were great about it. Went here for my birthday dinner with friends. I had the combo fajitas which were excellent. We got the guacamole which they made at your table along with queso. They were both very good. Since it was my birthday they brought out a huge slice of cake with 2 scoops of ice cream and a sparkler to my surprise. The whole serving team sang happy birthday to me. This is a strict review of the bar, not the food - the restaurant part is separate. When I go to the bar of a decent to upscale establishment- I expect the drinks to coincide (made properly). I mean, cocktails are all about the recipe and that includes presentation and using the right garnishes. In this case, it is the Old Fashion, a classic, and it has to be made to spec :-). It is a simple drink but has to be made as intended, what has made it an iconic drink. As you can see in the picture, I had to remove most of the ice cubes because it will water down the drink. An Old Fashion requires a large chunk of ice, usually spherical or cubed. This definitely is part of the presentation but it serves a practical purpose as well - it melts slowly and chills the drink (without over diluting it). So, when prepared properly, one can enjoy the sips...taste the bourbon, bitters, touch of sweetness and if garnished properly, enjoy a hint of lemon or orange. Now the service was great. The bartender was attentive and prompt. I did ask why they didn't serve it properly (with a large , single ice cubes/ball) and they (she asked another employee) replied, that's just how they serve it. The single, large ice is reserved for their signature margarita. So if you don't care about the craft of cocktails, disregard this review. But for me, I just wanted to have a tasty drink and some guac, then order a meal to go - this won't be the spot when I'm in the mood for an Old Fashion. I'll try them again and check out that signature cocktail of theirs. Because the drink got watered down quickly, I couldn't really enjoy it. WOW! My new favorite delivery and my new favorite food. The chef and management must be incredible now because I ordered Uber and everything came to me in a nice package with everything full, fresh, and quality. My favorite was the queso with the beef. So flavorful, hot, and you get a nice size for the price. The chips were fresh and nice size bag. Came with salsa as well that was a nice size, full and fresh. My equal next favorite was the ahi tuna mini tacos. Great tuna with lots of sauce, guacamole, and onions. The tacos were sorted separately so you can wait to eat them by having the ability to put together when you want to eat. Again, everything fresh. I do wish they had a pico fresh mimix or more tomatoes but no big complaint. I'm pleased and they are huge crunchy taco shells with plenty of meat to fill three shells with all the topping. So fresh My cold LOVED the bean and cheese burrito. The rice was not very good and it didn't come with another side and the burrito was a bit wet and doggy on the bottom but we managed. The lemonade was not that flavorful but they filled the cup and I felt the delivery did a nice job transporting it. I'm putting this place as my go to Mexican and go to delivery. Pricing want bad for all that we got, actually ate, and how fresh while filling all the containers while packaging everything with excellence. Loved it!! I'll post photos next time. read more

I remember eating at Cantina Laredo in the early 90's. The waiters would write their names in crayon on the butcher paper on each table. The food was good then and the food is good now! No surprise since it's survived over 30 years in a cutthroat business and Covid ! I highly recommend the Veracruz enchiladas. This is 2 pulled chicken enchiladas with spinach, Monterey Jack and tomatillo sauce. Please bottle up that tomatillo sauce and sell it! It's has depths of flavor and a nice heat. I've been a Cantina Laredo customer for more than 40 years. I have been to the Frisco location a dozen times. Tonight was the worst experience I've had at any location. Unfortunately, with my grandchildren in tow. The food was fine, as was the waitstaff, but the time it took for the adults to get their food was ridiculous. The kids got their food within 15-20 minutes, which was fine. However the adults got their food in 45 MINUTES. This is Tex-Mex we're talking about. The kids were finished eating way before we got our food. Try entertaining your grandkids while you're eating. It's one thing at home, something else at a restaurant. Very disappointed. We discovered Cantina Laredo on a cool, rainy afternoon. A strong reason for the choice was the veg options on the menu. Well, let me tell you they have a full menu of vegan options and they are very tasty. I am so used to restaurants that provide one option and make you feel second class. Not here! We stopped in and visited Cantina Laredo for the first time since March 2020. We didn't know how busy it was going to be so we made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Thursday evening 48 hours in advance. Spencer was our server. He mentioned that he had only been working for 4 weeks, but it didn't seem like it. He was clearly familiar with the menu items and made food and drink suggestions when we asked questions. We decided on chicken enchiladas with rice. There were three people in our party so my Mom and Aunt had a mango Margarita each on the rocks and I decided to try something different and go with a watermelon basil Paloma. Enjoyed a tres leches cake for dessert. We enjoyed our meal and began chatting for the next two hours. This is where things took a drastic and unexpected turn. I got up from the table after dinner to go home and suddenly started feeling dizzy and nauseous with heart palpitations. There aren't enough words to express my gratitude to the wonderful, kind strangers, patrons, and employees of the restaurant who gathered around me and helped support me and prop me up into a chair, called 911, and to the paramedics who got me to the hospital within 15 minutes. It was their quick thinking and actions which I truly believed saved my life and I cannot thank them enough. It was an extremely scary ordeal. The paramedics took an EKG in the ambulance which looked fine. A Chest X-Ray was taken after arriving at the ER and also came back clear. IV Fluids were administered. Cardiac enzyme test and Troponin levels were normal. I was being observed in the ER for nearly 5 hours and discharged around 2:30AM early Friday Morning. All blood tests look to be normal(with the exception of potassium which necessitated the need for tablets to increase my levels). I will be following up with a cardiologist on Tuesday, April 19th per the discharge instructions. read more

Another great meal at the Cantina. I actually took a picture this time before I ate...The service is consistently outstanding. We eat here about every other week. I just always forget to document it. They updated their menu with some simple Tex-Mex favorites...Chicken enchiladas and beef enchiladas - also brought back a taco plate. Picture attached - I had two chicken and one beef with R&B, classic and they do it well... fresh cooked beef and chicken with their well seasoned, creamy, spicy sauces. We absolutely love this place! It is our go to HH spot but I have also been for lunch. The service is always friendly and quick. A rarity these days. The house chardonnay is good and is a good pour size for a very reasonable price. We love their steak quesadillas. The steak is always tender with great flavor. My kids took me to Cantina Laredo in Plano/Frisco for Father's Day. It was not my first choice but I have to admit, it was great. I had the asada tacos which were pretty amazing. Really nice dinner experience at Cantina Laredo this week! I hadn't been in a long time and it was my husband's first time. We really enjoyed the drinks and food. The chips and salsa taste really fresh too. We loved the fact they had a separate plant based menu. We're vegetarian and they were accommodating of putting real cheese in place of the plant-based cheese which was much appreciated. The frozen margaritas are so good here too.
