Ive dined here a few times throughout the years and I can write an honest review when I say the food is just ok. I've tried the tacos which are nothing special, the carne asada is mediocre and the drinks are decent. I've never had an issue with the service everyone has always been friendly and attentive but the food just isn't up to par. I'd only recommend if you're looking for a quick lunch but nothing on the menu will "wow" you. The drinks are probably the best thing here, keep that in mind.

Traditionally a fan of Gloria's restaurants but today when visiting this location with my dad and my husband the service was honestly the worst I have ever seen. Our waiter took a long time to come and take our order and when he came we asked for flour tortillas but they brought us corn tortillas instead which then after asking him he brought us the correct version. We ordered the steak fajitas which in my opinion were good but the meat was a bit chewy. Additionally we had to ask twice for someone to take the dirty dishes away. I hope in the future they improve their service as the restaurant itself is beautifully designed and has outdoor as well as indoor sitting.

First of all this restaurant was beautiful! We sat "outside" which is enclosed and has AC which was great for 95°. The staff was great and helped me make some good choices since it was my first time there. The food overall was good, especially the chips and the different salsas/sauces. I wouldn't say the food was great but I would stop in again if I was in the area.

I've always been a fan, but I swear the food tastes even better with the move. My sisters, niece, daughter and I enjoyed our family outing here. My chicken soup was great, my sister enjoyed her carne asada, my niece enjoyed her chimichanga and my other niece and daughter enjoyed the kids nuggets.

Checked out the new Gloria's in Plano. It did not disappoint!! Samuel, our server at the bar was awesome! He greeted us right away. We ordered 2 delicious top shelf margaritas on the rocks and they did not disappoint. They were delicious. The chips and salsa, black bean dip, and green sauce are always delicious. Ordered queso and it was on point. Main dish was chicken and beef fajitas for one, which was plenty of food for both of us. Everything was delicious! The restaurant is beautiful and super clean. Very spacious and plenty of room for groups! Plenty of parking. You can't go wrong with Gloria's. Top notch service and food!!

The salsa is great, but the cheese dip is better. They moved to this new location not long ago. The new building is cool. Such a retro 90's vibe. Getting the fajitas, hubby getting quesadillas. Daughter getting kids carne asada. We are here on a Saturday and all of the staff is pitching in to give great service. The Fajitas were great. Daughter said the rice is a bit bland lol hubby liked his.

I recently visited the new Mexican Sugar location in Frisco for lunch, and this was my first time experiencing the new space. First impressions--beautiful. The building is stunning, the décor is elevated, and the layout is much more spacious compared to the previous Gloria's location. You can definitely tell there was a full renovation, and it gives a more modern, open feel. I arrived right around opening (11 AM) and chose to sit at the bar. There were a few guests already there enjoying drinks and chips, which created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The bar staff--two gentlemen--were kind, attentive, and professional. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay, which came out promptly and was excellent. However, the timing of the food service is where things fell short. I ordered shrimp tacos, yet a guest seated next to me--who ordered after I did--received his entrée (which appeared to be a steak dish) well before mine. Considering it wasn't busy, this was a bit surprising. I did have to follow up on my order before it was brought out. When my food arrived, it was good overall, but it could have been warmer. I also added mixed vegetables, and this is something I want to highlight for safety purposes. The vegetables included greens like spinach with stems that were not properly trimmed or cut. I actually had a moment where I almost choked, which was concerning. This is definitely something the kitchen should review, as it could pose a risk if not prepared carefully. Overall, I would rate this experience a 7/10. The ambiance, drinks, and overall quality of food were solid, and I will absolutely return--Gloria's/Mexican Sugar has always been one of my go-to spots in Dallas. With a few improvements in food timing, temperature, and preparation details, this location has the potential to be exceptional. 7/10

They closed their Frisco location and opened up here in Plano next to Eddie's. This location opened up about a month ago - stop by! This location is so fancy with the decor! This truly feels like a major upgrade with the lighting and amount of decorations. The ratio of meet and cheese on the steak fajita nachos is quite nice - it's a very filling meal. Shout-out to our waiter, Daniel, for making conversation with us. Overall a friendly place with good food. I've been to Gloria's in different locations before and this is my first post!

This is my new favorite Gloria's!!! I'm already at Gloria's all the time, but this new restaurant is amazing! I love the colors they chose to decorate with. The plants are nice touch. The restaurant is bright and very spacious. The bar area has so much room for seating. My Al Carbon tacos were perfect. I would say, one area for improvement is how they season the grilled vegetables. They tasted off and soggy. Other than that, we left the restaurant content, full, and satisfied! I cannot wait to go back.

Beautiful new location! Really loved the inside, it's so much brighter than the previous location across the street. Service and food amazing as always.

Food was amazing! We ordered the steak flambeado and the Carne Asada, both super tender and seasoning was on point. Beautiful place. But the best was our waitress Estefani, she went above and beyond for us. Great customer service, will definitely come back when visiting the Dallas area.

Appetizers and the complimentary chips and salsas!

Beautiful restaurant as is typical of this brand. We sat at the bar this time and the stools are very comfortable. Love the airy brightness of this new location. The bartenders and staff are super attentive and friendly. The way they move and work together is no small feat so kudos to manager/owner. You never have to want for anything. We enjoyed the people watching here, the area is busy with professionals and affluence. The food here is always on point. We had the plantains - a MUST - yucca and queso flameado. We were stuffed and couldnt finish them all. Usually I get the grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce which is incredible. I had two orange skinny mojitos that went down really well on this hot summer day; hubs had two draft dos equis. Zero complaints, lovely restaurant with top notch food and staff.

Special menu vary by season. The hostess set such a welcoming tone and the waiter understood the menu and what to suggest. What did I try? Empanadas with the green sauce were tasty. I'm a sucker for a salad with candied pecans. The harvest salad had goat cheese, pickled red onions, sliced fruit and whispered, summer nights. Up next, lamb lolipops on a bed of couscous, cilantro, basil, red onion and had this lime juice twist that paired well with the meat. The portions are on the smaller side. Ain't going to lie, I was lowkey wanting to head within the visinity afterwards because I was still hungry. That's what I get for splitting the portions! The menu is eclectic complete with girl's night out charcuterie option! The bottom level seating between sectioned bar and tables has no distinction. If casual cozy is what you want, then dine here. K150, Plano, TX 75024 I would like to express my gratitude to Ms. Alini for her invaluable contribution to enhancing this exceptional culinary experience. Regarding the culinary review, I opted for the indulgence package, which included a dessert and an additional side of roasted bone marrow. The fresh salad bar alone offers remarkable value. A particular highlight was the candied bacon, which was exceptionally palatable. The freshness of the vegetables and other food items significantly elevated the overall experience. The true highlight commences with the presentation of the green and red indicator card; once the green side is displayed, the meat service begins. Various meat selections are presented table-side, with offerings provided at each interval. For individuals with a strong preference for meat, this aspect would undoubtedly be considered an unparalleled delight. To conclude this experience, I selected the cheesecake, which featured an exquisitely chilled, firm glaze complemented by a vibrant berry sauce. This entire experience unequivocally merits a 5/5-star rating..

My girlfriend happened to run into someone and…read morestrike up a conversation about food and this person let her know that Salsa had hired away the GM of a Gloria's and made improvements in their food, service, and "everything." What I can say is that Salsa now has salsa, chips and black bean dip just like Gloria's; yes, that iconic, tasteless black bean dip that could stand to have some salt, cumin, paprika, chili powder, black pepper, Mexican oregano and onion added - you know... adobo! Ambiance - basically a dirty school cafeteria. The floors have been stripped to concrete and the noise level is at a steady 80+ decibels. The chairs, tables and vinyl tablecloths ache for a good scrubbing. Speaking of noise - one of the margarita machines was as loud as a lawn mower. Why? Well when a random server saw me staring at the machine and asked me if everything was ok, I said, "you know, I think if the side panel were put back on, that margarita machine would be much quieter." He looks at me and says, "yes, but then it would overheat again because it is too close to the other margarita machine. It was quiet when we had it on the other side of the bar, but the manager wants them together." Then he laughs and walks off. Speaking of laughs, our server was a riot. We ordered a hamburger for our four year old. When ordered, I asked the server to bring mayonesa (mayonnaise) and not ketchup. She says, "ok, we don't have the mayonesa so you can have ketchup so that's ok." I asked if she had any other salsas like a salsa macha. She said they have a habanero and a molcajete salsa and brought them to us. The habanero was fruity and not at all spicy. The molcajete had actually gone bad. It tasted rancid and smelled. I told the server and she said, " oh no. Ok." Then she walked off and didn't take the bowl and no doubt didn't tell anyone. I ordered the Churrasco and my girlfriend the Rene. When our food arrived, the kids hamburger was placed on the table with a warning about the plate being very hot. Who puts a kid meal on a plate that is hot?!?! Also who puts a ramekin of chimichuri sauce on top of the steak? FWIW, the chimichuri was not even close to being chimichuri. On the upside I stopped a bus boy and asked for mayo and amazingly, he brought some. The server came back and said, "oh, you got mayonnaise!" Then I asked (in Spanish) why she told me she didn't have mayo. She babbled incomprehensibly in a mix of English and Spanish that was a mix of lies and half truths. Who lies about mayo for a kid? Our meals were unremarkable and tasted like Sysco foods TV dinners. The only thing that I can tell has been improved is the prices - in Salsa's favor. Salsa Tex Mex - do better. Hire staff that actually cares about your restaurant and customers. Train your wait staff. Improve your recipes, source higher quality ingredients, and simplify your menu. Fix your equipment and ambiance. 2 stars because at least the water glasses were clean, the margaritas were strong, we didn't have to wait long to check out.
