Great coffee. Burritos are delicious. Good pastries as well. They sell merch and the location is beautiful. Give it a try!

Great Kona coffee in a wonderful casual atmosphere!…read more I had to meet up/interview a potential Big Island candidate in Kailua-Kona and I was basically looking for a casual place where I could meet, enjoy a drink, and have a little bit of conversation. Kona Coffee & Tea was the place of choice here in Kailua-Kona. Located at the Kona Coast Shopping Center, you can find this little coffee shop just next door from KFC. The coffee shop is easy to find, as other business surrounding this business is the KTA Superstore, Hele Gas Station, HFS Federal Credit Union, O'Reilly Auto Parts, as well as many numerous eateries. It was late in the afternoon, so I basically came here for some drinks. I had to try their Kona Coffee, and I must say it did not disappoint! The coffee shop has indoor, as well as covered outdoor seating. The shop does sell some food items, but I did not partake or looked at what they had to offer. There was also coffee shop merchandise, but I did not have time to take a look at what they had to offer. Overall, as great coffee shop and if I'm in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop by for their wonderful coffee.

Kona Coffee & Tea really makes it a point to articulate that their coffee is 100% Kona coffee. For…read morethat reason, some of their drink offerings are priced accordingly, with a 12 oz medium pour over costing $10. Unless you're a coffee connoisseur, you may want to skip the pour over for something a bit less special to save yourself a few dollars. The coffee was fine, but my unrefined palette was not able to fully appreciate the cup of brew. In terms of atmosphere, Kona Coffee & Tea has plenty of seating outdoors around the porch and a few high tables indoor, where they have AC blasting at full strength. They have free Wi-Fi available as well, so I saw a lot of people posting up on their laptops. Parking is plentiful and easy to find since this coffee spot is located in a strip mall. If you have a discerning palette for the subtle flavors that show up in different coffee beans, you will definitely want to stop by for a cup.

Looking for an after-lunch pick-me-up, I saw this coffee shop as a 15 min drive away from where we…read morewere so we went for it. Going through some narrow roads and a bit of an uphill, we were rewarded with cooler temperatures within a nice woodsy shaded area. Pretty sure along the road and nearby is a bunch of different coffee farms and tours. The coffee cart/van and the set up was all visually pleasing in all its simplicity. Kind and friendly workers made the experience all the more wonderful. Among the six of us, we ordered 3 Salty Earl(Guessing this is new) and a Brown butter miso Latte. Both were excellent and even though there is more menu to try, I feel like we'd fall back upon the drinks we really enjoyed from this visit. We enjoyed these drinks so much, a request was made to return on our last day but once we realized this would've been a 50 min detour(one way) just for coffee , we postponed this until the next time we're on the island.

The coffee is just so flavorful! It is not burnt tasting, but has a lot of fragrant notes. The oat milk latte was extremely smooth and delicious. No sugar or syrups needed! DH also got a latte, because they didn't have cappuccinos. He said, "It was super smooth. It was really good. It wasn't as intense as the coffee from their beans. It was quite possibly the best latte I've ever had." We splurged for a 7 ounce small bag of Kona SL34 beans for $38 to take home. Believe us, it was well worth it! There is a small seating area under an awning. Most folks seemed to be taking their coffee to go. Also, there's a really cute shop right next to it, full of high quality home decorations, kitchen items, souvenirs, and snacks. Parking is in a nearby shared lot. Be sure to check it out!

If heaven has a lunch counter overlooking the Pacific, I think I found it…read more The Coffee Shack isn't just about the view (and trust me, the view alone is worth the drive)--it's about everything that comes with it. Let's start with the sandwiches. The Hawaiian bread is absolutely incredible. Soft, slightly sweet, fresh, and honestly the best sandwich bread I've ever had. Every bite made me wonder why every sandwich in the world isn't served on Hawaiian bread. Then came the pizza. Authentic, artisan island flavor with a homemade crust that tasted like it had been infused with fresh rosemary and other garden herbs. The pineapple and ham tasted wonderfully fresh, making the classic Hawaiian pizza feel like it was invented right here. And then there's the balcony. You look out over the emerald-green Kona coffee slopes as they tumble down to the brilliant blue waters of Kealakekua Bay. The Pacific stretches to the horizon, sailboats drift across the bay, and on a clear day you can even spot the Captain Cook Monument across the water. It's the kind of view that makes you forget your phone...at least until you realize you need to take another picture. Come hungry. Stay awhile. Order dessert and another cup of Kona coffee. You'll leave wondering if you came for lunch or for one of the most beautiful dining views in Hawaii. Mahalo, Coffee Shack--you've spoiled me for every sandwich and pizza that follows.
