    Specialty Phantom latte

The owner was super great--its women owned truck and her beans were from a local female roaster, so we loved to support that! We tried a new coffee place every morning and Kohola by far had the best cold brew on the island! She had awesome specialty lattes and sandwiches too! The beans were from Misma Lani Farms, you can buy them from her website (which we did) would totally recommend. Even though it's a food truck Old Airport Beach is right down the road where we were able to find a picnic table under a pavilion, if you're looking for a place to sit and enjoy your coffee.

Solid espresso and delicious ube flavor if you like sweet. Service is amazing!! Also you can just pull up to the window in your car;)

don't miss kohola coffee! there are lots of coffee options around the big island and i've tried many of them, but this place stands out. there are so many options with lots of local influence which i love. i had to try the ube latte with homemade ube whipped cream and it was so delicious! service is quick and very friendly (thank you jeanette!). i will be back to try everything on this extensive menu! can't recommend enough!

I forget what this was called but it was good and beautiful.

We found Kohola Coffee truck. Amazing Coffee and specialty drinks. 100% look her up. She is looking for a permanent place to have her coffee truck so google her and see where she has landed. You will not be disappointed with the drinks.

Literally the best iced ube latte. I got it with the ube whipped cream, which she makes herself!

Outstanding coffee. Great flavors but not too sweet. I've tried four flavors in two days. They're all great.

It is two stories with open views of the ocean. It has great views from both levels. They sat us upstairs, which was more quiet than the downstairs. Our server was nice and attentive. I placed an order for my Loco Moco. It is plated beautifully. It tasted really good and flavorful. It was a bit on the salty side, but it was balanced with a perfectly cooked white rice. It is a hearty meal so it was perfect for a long plane ride. They had a sign for a daily happy hour from 3:30 to 530, FYI

I was really undecided so I asked for more time and the server came back with drink orders. I still needed sometime so he said he'd be back. 20 minutes later he finally comes by - I get he was busy but wow! I ordered the Fried Rib Ends w/ a side of White Rice. The ribs ends were decliciois! I really loved the house-made guava-lilikoi BBQ sauce as it was sweet and had a nice tang to it. It was topped with tropical salsa and served on island slaw. The slaw was crisp! The server come back once but didn't come back again just to give the check. I was truly disappointed by the service which really left a bad taste in my mouth, hence the 2 stars.

The overall experience felt lively and relaxed, and even the little geckos running along the railing trying to sneak a sip of syrup added a fun, memorable touch. That said, the food didn't live up to the setting. While everything tasted fresh and the presentation (especially the avocado toast) was beautiful, it was surprisingly lacking in flavor. It honestly felt like the island ran out of salt and seasoning--very bland for how fresh it was. Overall, a great place to sit, relax, and soak in the view, but unfortunately the food was the weak point.

To begin, the greeting from Richard was welcoming, informative, and made us feel like we were visiting long-missed family friends. Once seated, the ambiance was open and comfortable, and of course, the view is beautiful. Our server, CC, was genuinely friendly and efficient despite being the only server on the floor AND shadow training a new server as well. She is skilled managing the floor! Now, as to the food.....I cannot praise it enough. The Brunch menu had a variety of options that made our choices difficult. We opted for the Lilikoi French Toast and it was fabulous. Truly memorable. We also tried the Banana Bread and it was heavenly. We were told that the everything on menu is house made, and I can say that this level of care shows. While we didn't get the chance to try any other menu items, we did watch the Salmon Eggs Benedict being served to several diners near us - it was a beautifully plated dish and we overheard rave reviews. Adding to the comfort was a musician playing guitar and singing beautifully. Frequently, he shared interesting local tidbits and stories about the songs he chose. Our party agreed that returning to Kalikala Cuisine is an absolute MUST when we get back to Kona. A big Hell Ya!

Kona Coffee & Tea easily gets 5 stars from me!…read more I don't even drink coffee, but when in Rome, I break the rules... I sampled Kona coffee from several different places while on the island, and the coffee here was hands down my absolute favorite. Their prices are very reasonable compared to the heavy tourist areas, and the quality is amazing. They roast everything on site and grind it fresh right in front of you, the whole place smells sooo good the moment you walk in. On top of the incredible drinks, the service was fast, efficient, and super friendly. You can also buy bags of their 100% Kona coffee right in the shop to take home with you, I actually bought several bags to bring back and give as gifts to family and friends. I loved everything about this spot!

Unless you're a coffee connoisseur, you may want to skip the pour over for something a bit less special to save yourself a few dollars. The coffee was fine, but my unrefined palette was not able to fully appreciate the cup of brew. In terms of atmosphere, Kona Coffee & Tea has plenty of seating outdoors around the porch and a few high tables indoor, where they have AC blasting at full strength. They have free Wi-Fi available as well, so I saw a lot of people posting up on their laptops. Parking is plentiful and easy to find since this coffee spot is located in a strip mall. If you have a discerning palette for the subtle flavors that show up in different coffee beans, you will definitely want to stop by for a cup.
