Always our go to neighborhood Asian restaurant. Best To-Go Asian food in town and we've tried just about everywhere in the first year living in Wilmington. A ton of selection and very nice plentiful portions for the family. Family owned and service is fast and very approachable and nice.

Just ordered dinner from Uncle Lim's. This review is specifically for the Red Curry Noodle Soup. This is the perfect soup for a cold winters night. I had half a lime leftover from a Moscow mule I made and squeezed that on top and the soup was perfect. Some heat, some sweet, with a not too thick or rich curry base. The soup has noodles, eggplant, chicken, and some greens. It was so flavorful, I used my chopsticks and then drank the broth! The take out container is enough for at least two servings. I always liked Uncle Lims but this soup is amazing. It reminded me of the type of Asian food I'd get in DC. Scroll down to the bottom of their menu and order it.

Best quality Americanized Asian style food around. I've now tried a few of their different dishes and all are well executed. Even my toddler will indulge with me. Their sauces don't taste like chemicals which I appreciate. A great place for vegans as they have many options that can be ordered straight from the menu. I love supporting this family business even seeing small children at play there from time to time (they've always been sweet to my little girl). There is no language barrier and it's nice to sometimes have a casual chat with whoever is checking out my order. The dining area is clean and there is plenty of seating, though we've only ever had takeout.

I'm not sure how the reviews are so high here. My curry was mostly onions and the consistency was super weird (felt slimy). I asked for Thai hot but this was the blandest I've ever had (I put hot sauce on it that I had at home). The egg roll wasn't cooked all the way so it tasted doughy. The fried rice was meh as well. Super bummed and now I'm making myself something to eat at home after paying $80 for 3 meals (with tip and delivery). I'll stick with Indochine, chinos, or chow Thai!

It seems they continue to decrease the amount of chicken and seafood in there entrées so you basically are vegan

The Malaysian style tofu is incredible! I've never ordered anything else because I never want to miss out.

Not fancy but boy was it good! Best Shrimp and Lobster sauce I've had in a really long time. The egg roll gets an A+ too!

Very interesting place. Not sure how I missed it in the past. The local salesman recommended I give…read moreit a try so I did. Huge parking lot that was already very full at 6pm. They do not take reservations so it is first come first serve. I waited maybe 5-10 minutes and was seated at a booth. I hate taking up a booth at a busy place when it is just me but that is where they seated me. Hostess was super sweet but spoke very low. Background noise and being hard of hearing that made for several repeats. We worked through it. Interior is very Asian. Some looks to be very old Asian. Not sure how many years this place has been here but it appears to be several. After reviewing the huge menu I discussed with my server going with something different and went with the nest after she explained it. Sounded different and it was. It is also huge. Lots of shrimp and scallops. And the veggies block out the noodles that are sopping up the juice below. I was unable To finish it all. Wow it was good. The place is super crowded and super busy. They definitely move folks through. Great food and dining experience.

Hello friends, This…read moreplaces has been on my list for some time. Finding myself in Carolina Beach; we headed north to try this place out. We were told 1.5 hour wait. We took the trip so we waited......and waited......and waited x's 5. Finally seated at this point we would have jumped in the pond and ate one of those koi fish. The Food was fine. Nothing to write home about. Would've been 5x's better had it at least been warm. I believe there HAS to be better options around. However I think the ambiance, decorations, photo ops etc is what sells the place. No biggie. I would return. I checked it off my list.

Food: 4 to 5 stars as far as I'm concerned…read more Drink: the Sake was fantastic (sweet but not too sweet), the Cosmo was very good but the Riesling was a bit vinegary) Service: very attentive service. hostess to runner to waiter. Very polite, went above and beyond. Ambiance: I love the restaurant. Love the art everywhere. Most of it is for sale. Beautiful Asian art pieces encased throughout. Great photo ops when not too crowded. There's a bar with seating and seats are mixture of bench and chairs throughout for various comfort. The chairs are very roomy. Food was great. This is my second time eating here and everything was as good as the first time so it's CONSISTENT

My wife and I recently visited Cafe Chinois and had a mixed but overall positive experience. I…read moreordered the Thai Chicken, and it was outstanding--well-balanced, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. My wife ordered the Vietnamese Lemongrass Chili Chicken, but unfortunately it was extremely salty, even by my standards, and I tend to enjoy saltier foods. We also ordered two cocktails that came out much sweeter than expected. It left us wondering whether some additional tasting and quality control in both the kitchen and bar could help improve consistency. That said, our server, John, was excellent throughout the evening. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about our experience. When we mentioned the issue with my wife's meal, managers Jack and David both checked on us personally and worked hard to make things right. Their involvement and concern did not go unnoticed and reflected a commitment to customer service. We've visited Cafe Chinois over the years and have noticed changes since the passing of the previous owner and the family's transition into running the restaurant. The menu has evolved, and the overall atmosphere feels a little different than it once did. During our visit, there was some trash on the floor that remained for a while, suggesting that attention to detail may not be quite where it used to be. Even so, the excellent service from John, Jack, and David, along with the quality of my entrée, showed that the restaurant still has a strong foundation. With a little more consistency in the kitchen and bar, Cafe Chinois can continue to be one of Wilmington's favorite dining spots.
