This used to be my favorite neighborhood restaurant. I even order to go multiple times a week. I tried to go inside for first time since COVID started for my birthday with family. I have my vaccination card. Unfortunately my wallet was stolen but I have photos of my passport and drivers license, however the waiter said only official id will be accepted. I told him that my wallet had been stolen but I have pictures of all my id's AND that while I support the law it only requires proof of id. However the waiter said too bad and that we couldn't come in. I tried to explain that the law says nothing about official federal or state ids but our gatekeeper would not hear of it. Needless to say, I don't think the owner would've agreed with the waiter but it doesn't matter. I won't be returning and none of my family in the neighborhood will either. Spectacular Food in a strange seting. Italian inspired Latino, There really is no other way tto explain this magestic and eclectic spot. The service, the owners (Totally Family owned and ran) Smoked Salmon, Octopus with mango, EVOO with your bread, plenty of steak and pasta dishes and the best Lamb and Osso bucco I had in my life (unfortunately both are available on Specials - Shame on you for cheating us all!) The place is very cute and nice. I loved the atmosphere at first. They unfortunately don't seem very interested in you. Maybe it was because we had a child with us but they seemed to be saying leave from the second we got there. Our child eats like an adult and orders more food than most adults but even that didn't seem to change the tone of our waiter. The bread and the bruschetta was wonderful. The goat cheese balls were not exactly what we expected. They were okay. So was the calamari. The pastas were nice and my appetizer of the mushroom special was the best thing we ate. Everyone agreed the food was quite nice nothing special but probably a B. The atmosphere and the drinks (the alcohol they say they use for their special drinks is not that as we saw what was used vs what was listed on the menu) unfortunately really play an impact on if you'd want to come back. read more

Around jackson heights it may get tough to find a restaurant serving good Italian food that isn't your local pizzeria. Man am i glad i stumbled upon this location because the food is great! Only a few blocks away from my house, I am surprised that I have never ordered from here before - the outside of the restaurant doesn't seem too appealing but the inside for sure contains a loving atmosphere with a beautiful decor. I ordered the penne alla vodka with chicken and it was absolutely fantastic. It contained a rich creamy sauce that melted in your mouth and had a healthy amount of chicken. My only complaint, like the other commenter mentioned, would be that the pasta was too hard. This restaurant is definitely worth your time if you are in the neighborhood looking for Italian food. read more

Came Tuesday night around 9:04 pm seating in the bar for 10 minutes no bartender...a waiter came nonnametag no name tag .. nothing... I ordered a old fashioned. He offered me liquors that not supposed to make with this cocktail... really? That place was busy.. but please guys .. train your server or hire better knowledge waiters about drinks if you don't have a bartenders in a slow day as Tuesday... you have to be ready .. food is ok as I see but bar is 0 star I will come back to taste the food ... and service to make a better rate but this rate is based about the bar 0 star. The food at Uncle Peters is good. We have ordered from them on several occasions and have been satisfied with the quality, presentation and service. However, tonight we ordered one of their more expensive entrees, the Baby Lamb Chops. What we received was a "block of chops" they didn't bother to cut the rack into chops. That is just not caring about your what you serve to your customers. The dish also listed "smashed potatoes" as an accompaniment but what we received was three small slices of roasted potatoes. It was our friend's birthday dinner and I must say it was amazing choice . Initially, we drove past the restaurant. Unless you know the location it might be bit difficult to spot it . Being that it was on Northern Blvd, we knew parking was going to arduous work. It took almost 15-20 minutes to get spot. After we parked, we put our map and headed to the restaurant. The first thing I saw on their door was the " Yelp Loves Us" sticker. That gave assurance that menu is going to a great one. As we walked into the restaurant, it was clean and very cozy. We were seated immediately with our party. They already ordered a pitcher of passion fruit sangria and it was delicious. It was bit more on the sweet side but I brought back memories of childhood of actual passion fruit juice taste. I only wished it gave me a more of buzz. I was starving and I dove right into the bread basket. I only wished it was warm . That would have really hit the spot for me . I think those are my only complaints and that's the reason I took off a star from it . I would have love to write what was on the on menu but moment I opened the menu my eyes went to the seafood ravioli. My friends that were more frequent patrons of this restaurant, recommended the skirt stake and the garlic linguine side . But my stomach was set on the seafood ravioli and that's I wanted and needed for the night. The waiter was extremely attentive. We placed our orders and within about 15-25 minutes all our food came out And it was a party of 8. That was amazing. I was not disappointed, the seafood ravioli was amazing. I loved every bite of it. It was perfectly seasoned and you can taste the freshness of the pasta and seafood. I wished I had more because it was just amazing. I wanted more . I couldn't have had enough. The entree was about $25 and I might say fully worth it. For dessert I had molted chocolate lava but my husband had the coconut flan. Damn that coconut flan. It was one of the best desserts I ever had. The molten chocolate cake was good but I had better but personally the coconut flan is the clear winner. I plan on going back with my whole family and probably order the same thing except this time I will get the coconut flan. read more

Went to this place last night. It was after the big win by Columbia in the World Cup tournament over Poland. That section of Northern Blvd. was pretty bonkers, but fun. But I digress. Had the Valencian Risotto which was really tasty with a solid offering of seafood including. Calamari was perfectly textured. Always a good sign. The Spanish saffron rounded it out nicely. But the star of the evening for me was the Lump Crabmeat Tower. A delicious, bright tasting appetizer. I only wish I didn't have to share it with my companion. She had the Black Linguini Frutti Di Mare which she really liked. I sampled it and can vouch for her assessment. The house Malbec was good and we finished with a spicy margarita which the waiter kindly dialed back for us. Which brings me to the service. Solid, attentive without being intrusive. Just how I like it. Friendly folks too. All in all, I whole heartedly recommend this spot. It's got a nice diverse menu that I'm sure will bring me back soon enough read more

I got takeout from here a few weeks ago. The chicken parm sandwich with provencal fries were both delicious. I also got the crab cake appetizer. In the picture on seamless, the crab cakes looked to be larger, but when we got them, they were bite-sized. They were tasty, don't get me wrong. I was just expecting larger. I would order from here again though, because the quality of the food and the care put into it, even the sauce in the chicken parm sandwich, was better than your average spot. read more

This place has the best skirt steak in queens. Very juicy and amazing seasoning! Highly recommended. The spaghetti and meatballs are very good, the meatballs are soft and juicy.For appetizers the creamy buratta mozzarella and crab meat tower are the best. The environment here is great for birthdays, romantic dinners and groups. The waiters are very friendly and treat you like they know you for a long time. I came here tonight specifically because I love Branzino and they have it several ways on the menu. I had the whole roasted Branzino with grilled veggies as my main and the grilled octopus with general tso sauce as an appetizer. Both were outstanding! But what I really wanted to recognize was the outstanding service and treatment I got especially with everything going on forcing restaurants and patrons to be flexible as possible. This review is primarly directed to the owner/manager: You have done a good enough job with the food, service and decor (kudos for there being only one TV, by the bar, so that's great). Prices are a bit on the pricey side. All of the above would be ok but there is a major issue with the atmosphere: the LIGHTING! BRIGHT OVERHEAD L.E.D. LIGHTS. Harsh!! Ugly light, blueish/cold and a buzz kill. Honestly, what's the point of nice decor when it's lit so cold and harshly?? Case in point: check out any decent restaurant that charges similar prices in Astoria or Manhattan. Observe their lighting. Experience it for yourself and see how nice it feels: incandesent blubs, not so strongly lit overhead from the celiling. Maybe some wall sconces and more reliant on candles. It's a better, warmer light, not so harsh. More romantic and pleasant on the eye. A place you want to be in. L.E.D. Lights are cold, harsh and kill the mood. Inappropriate for a nice restaurant. This is probably the only sit-down restaurant in the area I would recommend my friends when they come to visit. The ambience is excellent, great for dates, even for casual get-togethers. It was a little cramped on a Friday night; perhaps the way they set up the place makes it less spacious as well. The house bread was NOT good (I usually don't expect much) however everything from the appetizer, entree, and dessert were surprisingly delectable at a reasonable price. I was a little apprehensive to take my man here since he is part-Italian, he almost never goes to Italian places, and his family used to own an Italian restaurant when he was younger, but I was relieved when the food served passed his standards and he said it reminded him of his father's restaurant. Made a reservation on open table for 4 adults and one toddler for Father's Day. We were a few minutes late for our 6:15 reservation but were seated promptly. We had a nice table, but the waiters kept on roughly bumping into my daughters high chair (4-5 times). Ordered: French vanilla martini x2 Coors light x4 Sauvignon Blanc x2 Manchego & serano jamon appetizer Baked clams organata Chicken croquettes Salmon and crab cakes - Children's menu linguini and meatballs -2x Parpadelle with 1/2 of a lobster and lump crab meat in a light tomato broth special -Entranta de la casa with a side of chimichurri - Entrecôte Au Poivre Our appetizers came out and everything was delicious. The drinks were flowing and it wasn't hard to get any waiter attention. Our entrees came out and instead of my father receiving the entrecote, he was given the skirt steak. His steak was supposed to be thicker and smothered in a peppercorn cream sauce. We explained it to the waiter and told him he could just bring out a side of the sauce if possible. That took about 12 minutes so that kinda sucked, my dad on Father's Day sitting and waiting to begin eating. Other that that small hick up- we really enjoyed our evening. The gang bangers that serve your meals should do a better job of covering up their tattoos. Everything we ordered seemed to be drowned in different types of sauces, not my preference at all. The vegetables also seemed like they were frozen, not fresh. To top everything off I had my car valet parked, horrible idea. The very next morning I noticed my first scratch on my brand new truck due to a parking attendant that has no clue how to parallel park. Soooo good. And on Northern Blvd??? Believe it. We had crabbed stuffed mushrooms, fried calamari (didn't even need salt!), seafood salad and seafood ravioli. Ambiance is pleasant, darkly lit yet enough light to see what you're eating. I could see having a bday party here or just a nice sit down dinner with friends or a date. The quality of the food was so impressive. I would be impressed if this was in the city, the fact that it's on Northern made me even happier. Hubby ordered their crusted tilapia which had just the right about of crust (and not a thick crust with a little fish like other places) and garlic linguine (SO SO GOOD !!) I had the entrana with rice and veggies. Very good- better than La Portena or Gauchito. We were raving so much that we talked about coming back here before we even finished our meal ! This review is not about food. We are spending our night here with a big group of people. We made the reservation ahead of time. But there are still not enough seats for everybody. We have to squeeze each other. So obviously they are short of waiters tonight. We have like 30 people's and only three servers for the whole night. Took them one hour to bring us our drink. And more than one hour to take the orders. I dunno about the food yet. Cuz after 1.5 hour sitting in my seat, I'm still waiting for my appetizer. Sorry, not gonna come back again. If I'm at a french restaurant, okay, I understand. But with a pre-made set menu, I will not want to spend another night here. No matter how good they make the food. read more

My fiancee and I have only been here once, several months ago, but I found it well worth it. It was kinda empty, but good atmosphere. Red Sangria was yummy with lots of fruit. We ordered something to share since it is rather pricy Italian food. We asked the waiter to serve it as a shared meal and the kitchen staff not only split it in half for us, but plated each half.
