I am glad to say that in three years, my original review remains the same - At Fogo, the Standard Experience is Exceptional. We were sat quickly, treated to the usual bustling carnival of beef, lamb and chicken. In particular, thirty minutes into our Full Churrasco Service they took a moment from the usual garlic steak and bacon wrapped chicken for tender, red filet mignon and rib eye! We also added to our experience the bone marrow which was great! They also came around bearing charred pork belly and grilled cheese and hot honey. We usually go to the Time Square location but opted for this because we went on a holiday and wanted easy parking. Parking was straightforward and we were seated quickly. The buffet table was smaller than at the TS location and there seemed to be less choices. But the thing we were most disappointed about was the inconsistency with service - we kept waiting for the meat to come to our table but we kept seeing the servers going to other tables (on the outsides, and we were in the middle part of the dining area), then leaving and therefore skipping us. It was not just one server but multiple servers, they clearly have a problem with making sure all tables get the same service or number of stops. We eventually had to flag down someone to ask to be served. The meat served was also mostly the cheaper cuts, even though it's a holiday and everyone in our party was playing full charcuterie experience price. We were all disappointed with the quality of the meat. I'll still go to Fogo but I'll not be coming back to this location for sure. read more

really hate leaving bad reviews, but this place truly deserves it. The service at Fogo de Chão was terrible from start to finish. Our waiter was nowhere to be found most of the night -- even when it was time to pay the bill. Staff barely came around, and we constantly had to get up and flag someone down just to get attention. My experience was underwhelming. I decided to come here for my birthday dinner. The food was decent. Not the greatest I've had when it comes to Churrascarias but also not the worst. It's also a chain restaurant so I wasn't expecting much. The same cuts of meats were on rotation. I got tired of waiting for new cuts. I did get a total of 9 different meats but again, for the price tag $69 PP, not much of it was "Premium meat" I tried the Picanha (This I had to ask for as they weren't circling around with it as well as the Ribeye which both only came out once) I was not at all impressed with the taste either it was bland. I will put a run down on the meat I was offered below while rating it. 1- Picanha- 3/5 (Asked for it and only came out once) 2- Garlic steak bites -3/5 (Rotation for 2 hours) 3- bacon wrapped chicken bites 4/5 (Rotation 2 hours) 4- garlic steak bites 3/5 (Rotation as well) 5- Parmesan pork bite 2/5 (Rotation) 6- Ribeye steak 3/5 (Came out once) 7- Skirt Steak 5/5 (Came out twice) 8- Lamb 5/5 (Came out twice) 9- Sausage 0/5 it truly was so gross. (The most offered on rotation) No other meat was offered. This is what was on rotation throughout the night. I've had better in other places. It's not "Premium" meats. It's standard cuts of meat aside from the Picanha and Ribeye which we had to ask for. The Market Table didn't look fresh, I ate a few items that were flavorless. The Brazilian bread was amazing as was the mashed potatoes.. They don't really have a non-alcoholic section so I got some Brazilian cherry Ginger-ale. Came here to celebrate a birthday during brunch hour, and we had a great experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and took the time to explain all the different meats. Brunch actually includes the same cuts they serve at dinner, which was a nice surprise. Everything we tried was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Obviously, if you don't like certain proteins you'll skip them, but overall the quality was excellent. The pork belly with honey drizzled on top was incredible it cut through the fat and made the flavors pop. The cheese bread they bring to the table is delicious, but be careful not to fill up on it! The bar had a large variety of options considering it was brunch, and the Salad Bar had soup, salads, and even some breakfast items (I'm sure this changes for dinner). Drinks were very good as well, and they had some nice specials going on. One helpful tip from our server: if you want the higher-end cuts like filet or ribeye, just ask and they'll bring them around. Party of two for "All For One Price" continuous, fire-roasted cuts brought to your table, endless sides, and seasonal specialties from the Market Table - all for one price. The "Market Table" is a open buffet which includes fruits, vegetables, and seafood. This Market Table is very large. Food is very fresh and abundant readiness. I made the mistake to ruin my appetite with crackers mere hour before sitting at our table. Fire roasted meat distribution to table and carved with patrons catching a piece using a tong. Fogo is a meat lover's paradise for a heavy steak meal. The bottom sirloin or bacon wrapped steak, is noted by Yelpers, always dry. The parmesan crusted pork is flavorful and surprisingly juicy. I highly enjoyed the salmon and Caesar salad. The Green Card system is a signaling device used in traditional Brazilian service, known as Churrasco which allows patrons to control the pace of a meal of the "all-you-can-eat" buffet experience. Green Side (Go): When you place the card with the green side facing up, it signals the Gaucho chefs that you want to continue receiving service. Pão de queijo, Brazilian cheese puff bread is served. High ceilings and there is a large relief statue of Antônio Caringi, Brazilian sculptor (1905-1981). Business cards and mints are abundantly available for grabs. I strongly suggest table reservations in advance, particularly for weekends and holidays as this large dining hall was bewilderingly very quickly filled as we dined on extreme artic cold February, Saturday. Since this location opened, have been here a few times for celebrations. Sadly have been finding the experience less satisfying each time. My family though likes to indulge in the grilled meats sometimes so we returned again recently. The staff who were taking care of our table were really nice; like when we requested something, we were accommodated. For one, the meats weren't being offered to us as much as in the central dining area so we had to mention this, and they relayed to the kitchen. Also the same one was brought over 3x in a short amt of time but not other cuts. We had to request for the fruits to be prepared and someone did come out to replenish. Other people were waiting for them for a while too so once ready, some were finished right away. We were waiting for the better cuts of meat and were told we had to ask for them bec some easily get dry. Understandable but when we did request for them, they were brought over kind of late in the meal. One in our group had the market table and 1 meat, which used to be offered in smaller portions but 2x. Now, meat is served only once so it dries up so quickly. My boyfriend and I were really excited to try this place... how could you say no to a Brazilian steakhouse? We went with his coworkers on a Saturday night. The salad bar and sides were fantastic. When Fogo first opened ....we loved it, a nice modern restaurant in Elmhurst. I've been here like 10x. We prefer this one compared to the other locations. I've recommended it to others but lately the food and drinks are not consistently good. Even they noticed inconsistencies in the food. Sometimes it's too salty or the steaks are chewier. There are certain days that the salad bar is fresher, the meats taste better. We can even tell when a good bartender is making our drinks that day... they rarely ever serve bacon... I've tried their HH menu, the Chileans sea bass, their wagyu...the crab cake was pretty good. Lobster has no flavor. Wagyu's good. Served on top of a salt block. We had leftovers and since some pieces weren't as seasoned, I gave a lil bit to some feral cats. Burger's good but extremely greasy...if I get it, I usually just eat a few bites. It's pretty filling cuz it's so fatty. We came last Sunday which I knew was one of the days to avoid...but L still wanted to go. It was actually very busy, we had reservations. We still were seated near the kitchen since it was so full. Usually we sit in the main area or the side, so we didn't get our usual server... who is great. He's really nice and helpful. Best server at Fogo though everyone is pretty nice. The salad bar... yep not as good.. the potatoes weren't fully cooked. The corn was very chewy. Bacon not available. I actually felt like having some bread and butter but no bread ...only butter. The bean soup was just liquid, so I had to wait till they refilled it but by the time they did ..I was already full from my drinks. L liked his reg. salad which I never get. Papaya wasn't sweet. Even though we paid $54 a person for the best of Brazil promotion, which does not include the best cuts of meat, it does include the market table, it's still not a reasonable price after drinks, taxes, tip. Came to $100 a person. The market table was minimally stocked, when platters were empty, you had to hunt someone down to have them refilled. It did not seem as if it was anyone's job to periodically check the market table. One of the meats which was pork with garlic was undercooked. A little scary. Was not impressed with the selection of meat or the quality. We have been here once before, maybe it's a place we'll go every five years or so. I have been here once last year and then this week. Both times were somewhat good experiences but with a few issues each. The place is huge and they have a salad bar, nice dim lights, two floors. The first time they gave us terrible, flat Coca Cola. Three times! but they were fast in service and servers were attentive. We were sitting in the middle of the main room. This time they sat us all the way in the back and our table seemed hidden away, where cutlery was stored. Therefore we were forgotten every now and then. But also the meats were a bit weird this time... some of them were too full of garlic, others were not enough flavory. Doesn't matter. I'll try again and see what happens! read more

We recently visited this Brazilian steakhouse and unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. The meats -- which are supposed to be the highlight -- were disappointing. Many of the pieces were overly fatty, some were burnt, and most lacked proper seasoning. For the price, we expected much better quality and flavor. Salmon was okay for the most part nothing special to me. Lobster mash potatoes was good. However, it's worth it as you get to try different meats/steaks. Staff come to each table asking if parties want to try the meat. Also you pay extra for the sides. Service was great though! Staff were all friendly and attentive. Inside was dark and intimate. Some couples did bring their small child/infant. My review is really limited as I did not try the meat/steaks. Loved how we ordered the wagyu ancho ribeye and they cut it at the table with a show. Great suggestion of ordering it medium rare as it was brought up to temperature on the salt rock presentation. As a lot of tables were ordering this item i knew it was the item to get. Tender and a great cut. The churascaria items to get were the picanha, chorizo sausage, and the sirloin. Valentina was a great server. She was very attentive server and very kind to our table. We had a table of 9 and we did get a lot of drinks and water refills which I was very happy with. I only wish I didn't not have to stand up and get my own plates when the meats started coming. The cuts of meats were pretty good, and they give complimentary chimichurri! They have a bar where you stand up and get your own hot food or fruits and such, and they had roasted garlic! I love roasted garlic - i did not see this at other fogo de chao locations. Fogo de Chao is a Brazilian Steakhouse that serves great meats with a very diverse buffet spread. This location was even better than I had imagined from the last time I had it in Manhattan. This location has a convenient valet parking lot, and the interior was very spacious, elegant and cozy. We luckily came during the Best of Brazil promotion (44$ per person) (with some of the meats) - the lamb and picanha were our favorite cuts. The buffet spread was large and diverse with so many options from soup, vegetables, grains, pastrami cuts, salmon and so much more. It was so hard resisting the buffet to save our stomaches for meat. The complimentary appetizers served at the table were also tasty. Food wise, everything tasted amazing and delicious - The deal also made it soo worth it. The service could have been a little better - we weren't served with the tongs to take the meat. It also took a while for us to get the chimichurri sauce that really elevated out meats. Came here for a date this past Saturday and it was my first time. Despite having a reservation we still had to wait approx 30-40 minutes to be seated. The salad bar area was quite nice but the main is their meats, obviously. At first the servers with the meat came around one after another almost without even giving us a chance to taste the meat we already gathered on our plates. I guess thats a good thing but then they stopped coming around... so if there was a particular cut you liked and wanted again, there was no telling when it would make its way back to your table. I even saw servers with the meat just completely skip us. Its an all you can eat spot so I was disappointed that we werent given the chance to eat all we can of the meat. Our actual server was also hard to track down and he kept forgetting what we asked for such as the cocktail list or more water. I feel like the food itself was tasty but I would rather go to a regular steakhouse where I am guaranteed a big ol slab of steak and I can get full off that instead of the salads. read more

Five of us came here to celebrate my mom's 82nd birthday. Due to a pet accident we had to switch our reservation location, they were terrific in doing so. Four indulged in the full meat courses and one just ordered a salmon platter with was very well seasoned and the vegetables were fresh and crispy. My absolute favorite were the cheese breads! The ambiance was pretty empty on a Tuesday night, but I was hungry, and it was getting late. Even though the bartender was a little behind (short staffed) for the night, Kaung made sure he checked in and provided updates. Overall, every server was incredible, friendly and provided wonderful service. Now, we come to this location for the quality of the food as the salad bar is always fully and fresh, the meats are always flowing and flavorful plus perfect temperature. Only tiny complaint was that the rice seemed a little off the night we went and the sweet plantains were eh okay. Best part about this location too is the cleanliness and decorations as the restaurant was cozy and rich with artwork and a beautiful wine wall. We are relieved that the music wasn't overpowering nor offensive (for ex, reggaeton and street-appealing songs which would have spoiled a lot for my husband) Food - Mostly great but some strong advice here - We recommend that you do the following as it is an all-you-can-eat buffet: 1. NO LEFTOVERS ALLOWED TO TAKE HOME - Although they donate to "No Kid Hungry" (assuming this is where the leftover food goes or maybe City Harvest too?), be aware when you go to the salad and buffet bar (which has an impressive range of food) that you cannot take any leftovers home. 2. RECOMMENDED IN THE BUFFET - Although everything was good, we strongly recommend the following: PARFAITS - These are small shot glasses of fresh fruit on top. Below the fruit is yogurt and granola and thought it would be no big deal. I was wrong, it was VERY creamy and somehow even tasted somewhat like goat or sheep's milk which is better for your health. Best of all, it was NOT filled with sugar (which most cheaper yogurts do to the detriment of your health. You get enough sugar from the fresh fruit and granola inside.) BLACK BEANS (at the end of the buffet) - It was slow cooked in pork, was tasty. 3. MEAT - We all ordered only the single cut of the following so please refer to other customer's reviews for other meat preferences: Picanha, Cordeiro (lamb), and Frango (chicken): Out of all 3, we STRONGLY recommend the Cordeiro and Frango but THIGH meat and NOT chicken breast. (See below for my explanation about all of this.) 4. WINE - Seeing that this restaurant won an award for its wine selection, I insisted to my husband we try one glass of red wine. The one highly recommended by one waitress is a particular Cabernet Sauvignon one from California and its vineyard has a long name. (Owner/Manager, can you please respond and let me know what the name is?) DEFINITELY try something off of their wine list, this is the place to enjoy it with your meal! ********** Reasons for Removal of 3 Stars: 1. We had to chase down a waiter to get our glass of wine we ordered or else we would never received it. We understand it is only one glass but my tolerance level is very low so I cannot consume a lot of alcohol so my husband and I had to share it and his two aunts do not drink. (You need to understand also that we had a loved one who was a former alcoholic and had severe health issues I do not need to go into. Giving favor to only clientele who consume a lot of alcohol alone is discriminating towards those who do not for health reasons.) 2. I was told that the best FRANGO (chicken) cuts was chicken breast but despite arriving tasting nice, it quickly dried up. ADVICE: Tell your waitstaff serving chicken the differences between different cuts of chicken that chicken breast is for those who want the lowest amount of fat and for those who are allowed to consume more calories, fat and protein to serve thigh meat. I wish the chicken breast was served more of the chimichurri kind of sauce to pour or dip the pieces in since it became dry within 10 minutes. 3. Serve some kind of light sauce to go with the red meat (not lamb which is more fatty and fine as-is) to make it more flavorful. Although fresh, it was kind of bland. 4. As my husband and his relatives do not frequent buffets (but do go to good restaurants whenever we can), we were not told in advance of no leftovers before we began our meal. This place is always a gem ! I went with a party of 20 so we definitely had a great time. We were able to secure the private room since we had such a large party which was awesome. (Only complaint is the lighting) it got super dark at times but the staff was awesome and so generously brought out some table side lamps for us The drinks were flowing. The meats were coming around every few minutes and the unlimited salad bar had an assortment of great selections. The night couldn't have gone better ! Thank you guys for a wonderful time. read more
