Great Italian food. It's been a while since I had authentic good Italian food. We had the steak and lobster along with the black linguine with seafood. It was delicious. The cream barrata appetizer was awesome. And the dessert was to die for. It was chocolate raspberry cake with pistachio ice cream was the best. My boyfriend and I love Uncle Peter's. We were sad when we could not order and get delivery from Seamless or Grubhub. Fear not! I called a week later to verify and found out that they deliver through ChowNow. We did our first order yesterday since my bf was sick and ordered two chicken soups and put in the instructions "extra bread and butter please" and they did! I was beyond ecstatic that they paid attention to the details. Also the first time that you order from ChowNow through their site, you get $4 discount so hurry and don't wait up! I just added the $4 towards tip and just love their foods. I love their Pear Salad, Steak, Seafood pasta dish, Crab tower appetizer and you can never go wrong with this restaurant. read more

There are few things worse than bad Italian food. One of them is expensive, bad Italian food. I picked up a $90 order of burrata, calamari, linguini & meatballs, and Valencian risotto. This was a conscious splurge--my wife's birthday and we are home with a one-year-old, unable to go out. So: The burrata was passable. The prosciutto bed was noticeably cheap, but the cheese was good. The calamari was inedible. I've never (in any establishment, cooking any cuisine) tasteless calamari. This was like cardboard. I salted it. Didnt help. The "marinara" which accompanied it was like strained tomato juice. Again, tasteless. The linguini & meatballs were clearly bathed in the same marinara base, but had the added kick of almost raw garlic peppered throughout the dish. Again, how one manages to make a tasteless meatball, no matter the combination of meats one uses, is beyond me. I made better meatballs when I was 10. The risotto was the most egregious offender. I dont know where to begin so I won't. Simply dont order it. Your palate, stomach, and wallet will thank you. We also got the tiramisu. Like the burrata, it was passable. However, for a place that charges Manhattan prices, the integrity of the dish was far below what I've come to expect. They have a bar upfront with a TV which shows the fights. I dont drink, but if you do, perhaps it would be a good place to go on Saturday to avoid Pay-per-View charges. Then again, I'll bet their markup on spirits is crippling too. read more

I just called Uncle Peter's restaurant to place an order as I have frequented this restaurant for years and have always received excellent service. Today I called in to place an order that I have placed countless times in the past. Keep in mind that my family and I have dined in and ordered delivery more times than I can count. Today the phone was answered by someone that I didn't recognize and seemed to be disgruntled. In the phone conversation he spent all his negative energy explaining what he couldn't do vs what he could. If these are the individuals that will be interacting with your lifelong loyal customers, you will not be in business much longer. We were three people in our party. While they greeted us nicely, the main waiter was gruff throughout the meal and we generally had a feeling of pressure. They were rushing around and did little to put us at ease. We had the Entrecôte au Poivre, Lamb Chops and Tilapia. The Entrecôte (steak) was huge but not very well prepared. The sauce was ordinary and not very satisfying. The lamb chops were well cooked but the sauce around it was uninspiring. My husband like his Tilapia. I am so beyond happy that me and my friends decided to have dinner here. As soon as we arrived the staff were sanitizing not only tables, but seats as well. The waiter had an excellent suggestion when we were unsure as to what to eat and drink. I highly recommend the mushroom risotto and any of their sangrias. It was one of the best meals I've ever had and I stand by that. When you visit Uncle Peter's make sure you wear stretchy close, you won't want to stop eating and you'll need the extra space. read more

I have dined at Uncle Peter's and ordered Uncle Peter's from Grub Hub and each and every time I have been very impressed. The food is just as delicious there as it is when it is delivered. We always order the Lump Crabmeat Tower with mangoes, avocados, tomatoes, and mixed greens and it is truly delectable and the juxtaposition of various textures and savory and sweet flavor profiles makes for a masterpiece of food, glorious food. Another item that my friend and I always tend to order is the Pollo a la Grilla served with avocado and a tomato salad on the side. The chicken is incredibly tender and grilled to perfection. We tend to change up the second entree that we have though to keep things interesting and last time we ordered the Valenican Risotto which has a very Spanish flare to it with an array of shrimp, clams, chicken, chorizo, calamari, red pepper, and saffron. I enjoyed it a lot but I think my favorite second entree that we have ordered has to be the Black Linguini Frutti di Mare with a hearty seafood combination tossed in a white wine garlic sauce with black linguini...obviously, right? In the restaurant, I was super pleased with the wine selection and the fact that they serve a Lychee Martini even though it is not an Asian restaurant; it was sublime. I also really like the bread that they served us while dining in the restaurant and the service is impeccable. The only gripe I have, and really with all restaurants in the boroughs is that there is limited space between table, so you really get to hear other people's conversations...I highly recommend this amazing restaurant though because the food is quite impressive. read more

I went to this restaurant last Saturday night. The place looks like a bar from the outside and inside it actually isn't. They had a white rose on each table and a peice of white paper cover the actual table cloth (lazy way of not cleaning the cloth). I ordered a glass of Chardonnay. The waiter was very nice and humble. I ordered the "Lasagna De la Casa". Saucy, meaty, not cheesy at all (wish there was more cheese) , but very nice, clean food presentation. I went here on a date for the first time. I liked the ambiance, however I have a few remarks. The service was very awkward and spotty, not terrible - just a communication kind of thing. The menu seemed good, however the pricing is a little nutty for small-normal portions. My date ordered the chicken parmesan and I ordered the veal. We were both not crazy about it. The tiramisu seemed like the only authentic Italian offering we ate that evening and I don't even think the restaurant makes it. The sauce on his chicken parm was sweet and they only gave him a small helping. My veal was a tad rubbery and the sauce didn't seem 100% made from scratch. My date lost his patience, but I think that's mostly because he's very Manhattan-ite. I won't even bother doing take out if my cooking is more authentic than this. read more

After finding a spot on the street myself, I realized that the guy in the hoodie that was standing in front of the restaurant the whole time was the valet, minus 1 star. (Perhaps he should get a vest or jacket that reads "VALET", or at the very least ask drivers who drop off their family in front of the restaurant and then proceeds to stand by the car with the door open, if they need their car parked!) Arriving at 7:50 for an 8:00 RESERVATION, and having to ask the hostess at 8:10 when our table would be ready, minus 1 star. Wow. Went here for my birthday last week and I was not disappointed. I noticed this place while strolling along Northern Blvd one day and I had to come eat here, it just had that look to it. I was right, the food was amazing. I had a sirloin steak that was very good even though there was a little more fat on it than I would like. The appetizers and drinks were made very well too. The place was about 50% when we showed up, but after about 20 minutes of being seated, it filled up quickly. I ate there twice last week and will be back next week. On Tuesday, I had baked clams and chicken francese, my father had the salmon special and both were delicious. I thought about the salmon so much that I went back Friday not realizing that it was a special. So when I ordered the salmon on the menu I asked if I was the dish from Tues. The waiter informed me that it wasn't the same and I must be speaking about a special. I was so disappointed and another waiter (I think manager) heard our conversation. He remembered me from the other day and confirmed it was a salmon special with a pesto cream sauce with avocado (SOOOO GOOD). He then told me the chef would make it for me if I wanted it (HOORAY!!!).
