Everyone happily noshing on huge portions at a reasonable price. The brisket is the best of the bunch. Smoky, tender and even juicy. I could eat this brisket all damn day. No need for sauce but the sauce was nice. The ribs were meaty St. Louis cut. Big and lean. Nice clean bite, no tug. The meat really got a good kiss of smoke, so again no need for sauce but sauce still available and tasty. The pulled pork was good. Bark in the mix, which is always a treat. Not mushy a bit but not stringy either. This one is better with sauce imo so you may want to ask for extra. The mac and cheese is the only clunker here. I am not a huge Mac and cheese person but when I like it, I love it. This was meh. Bland. It comes with a plate but I wish there were other options. Any other option. I saved the cornbread for last. And, yes, you have to queue for the 'cue. This is a one man operation and he pours his heart into it. Everything is homemade, even the sauces. RE is usually open 1-2 days a week (Thurs and/or Fri). You can get on the email list to receive weekly updates on hours and specials. I highly recommend trying the specials when you can, they are almost always superb. My current faves are the smoked meatballs and the lamb rogan josh. I hear legendary tales about his Frito pie. Portions are large and shareable, or you can get your own order and save the rest for a lovely lunch the next day (make your co-workers jealous). The inside cozy, quaint and very clean. The service was ultra friendly. Although we had never visited them before, Kyle's southern charm had us feeling like we were old cousins coming to visit. As for the sauces, there were 3: Asian, island heat, and whiskey. All 3 sauces were made well, but the whiskey definitely complemented the meats the best. Call me a glutton, but I also got the twisted mac & cheese with a ghost pepper sausage. Despite liking the platter as much as I did, this pairing was my favorite part of the meal. I find that most restaurants dry their mac out, but that wasn't the case here. The ghost pepper sausage was to die for, and had a very tolerable level of heat. I'm super picky about chicken because it is so dry at most places. Not this chicken! It was flavorful & so juicy! The rib tips were a little dry but I don't typically order them so I'm not sure if that's normal or not for that part of the meat. We also absolutely LOVED the bbq sauce that was on the chicken & rib tips!! I'm not totally sure but we both felt that it tastes homemade! I did try the coleslaw but I wasn't a big fan & I did have to add salt & pepper to the corn. The sausage was delicious!! The burger was good, but it was very thick & personally I prefer thinner patties like a smashburger, but that's just my own preference. I would absolutely come back to try more of their food!
