We were in town for the weekend, our cabin was about two miles from the store location. While watching college football on Saturday afternoon, we decided to order 2 twelve in pies. We placed a to go order for garlic knots and 2 pizzas. When we arrived home, which is 4 minutes from the restaurant, the food was cold. Not only was it cold but it was all under cooked. The garlic knots were doughy and the cheese on the pizzas wasn't even melted. We had to finish cooking all of it before we could eat it but even after that it wasn't very appealing. Veteran, senior guy here to praise this diamond in a rough. I've been a bacon- and-egg guy for breakfast/brunch all my life. Until recently I'd never even thought about an alternative. Whenever my wife and I go out for lunch, which is often, I first have to make sure breakfast is on the menu. And it often isn't, so our choices are always somewhat limited. And then one day a couple of years ago wife Ronnie was shopping at Ingles. We hadn't yet had lunch, and being 2pm many restaurants would already be closed for lunch. Ronnie suggested we order a sub or two from Uncle Scott's. And so we did. I ordered a regular size Italian sub--big enough for the two of us (plus Daisy, our Jack Russell) to share in the car. Well, that was then. And this is now and I've been ordering the same sub every Saturday now for two years! And it's the highlight of the week for me--not breakfast! Same for Ronnie! Here's why, I think. My take: 1) The combination of ham, turkey and pepperoni seems just perfectly right! Thinly sliced. One day I told him how good it was. That I'd been ordering the sandwich for two years. That in MHO it deserved an Academy Award for Subs! :) Guess how he replied? One word: FRESH. Never thought about that before. Probably because I've always been ordering breakfast. But, if other places offering subs (like the national chains) are serving frozen meats, that would be a huge difference would it not...?! 2) The veggies added make a perfect complement. Roasted red peppers, hot pepper rings (but not overly hot--would that be the same as pepperoncini...?), and lettuce. 3) Cheese/dressing--again perfectly complementary: mozzarella and provolone with parmesan romano peppercorn dressing. (I always ask for extra cheese. One time just try a small container of their delicious Greek dressing with it ...) 4) It's oven-baked, wrapped in tinfoil for takeout--cut in half without asking so you eat it warm! Who does that around here!? Or anywhere...!? Everyone knows warm food tastes better than cold...! Sheesh! 5) The wait staff are pleasant and friendly and the kitchen staff are not only proficient--good at what they do--they SEEM HAPPY! And those of you who eat out a lot like us, you can tell a lot about the quality of a restaurant just from that, can you not...? 6) Finally, Uncle Scott's is totally competitive about pricing. You might even be mildly surprised they're not asking more for such quality. Just sayin'... OK, long-winded. My apologies. But I felt I owed Uncle Scott and his staff this effort. They've been so good to us all these Saturdays. P.S. (Today is Sunday so I'm letting Daisy know: "Only six days to go until our next Italian Sub, Daisy...!" Her favorite, too...! :) read more

Now this is a pizza joint. I loved being greeted with a huge warm greeting explaining how you order and to have a seat and come back up to order. Nothing fancy, but the open kitchen is a beautiful orchestration of getting out orders quickly and correctly. The staff checked on each table several times during the meal. The owner even checked with the tables. The pizza had a great chew and the sausage on the pizza was a great Italian sausage without an overwhelming amount of fennel. I heard about them via WTZQ and decided to give them a try. If you call ahead, you can prepay over the phone and then call when you get there for them to bring it to you. Hand clap because when they bring you the receipt to sign, the pen is wrapped in a Clorox wipe. Anywho, I was wearing a T-shirt that my mom got me from some island she visited, and Uncle Scott's had a promotion that if you wore a "vacation" T-shirt you would receive a $5 coupon for your next purchase (they do this weekly so check out their FB), and I also wanted Hawaiian Pizza so I figured the Food gods had lined this all up, and I am so glad they did. It was fantastic, they are very generous with the toppings and the crust was perfect. Our 19 year old cat actually ate a piece of the bacon and he is a food snob(picture of him judging you). The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was because I don't know what the inside is like, but, hey, when everything is open again, I will reevaluate. read more

My go-to : every Saturday! Everyone there, from server to pizza makers ar3e super friendly and helpful. The food is always hot, straight out of the oven. I always have a pepperoni pizza and garlic knots: the knots arte so flaky and delicious!! The servers are observant, helpful and take away empty plates ASAP and keep the tables and floor clean and non-cluttered, A nice family-style restaurant with excellent service. I was at the Laurel Park plaza, and noticed there was a place called Uncle Scotts Pizza. Just for the heck of it, I went inside just to see what they had on the menu. Come to find out, that they have a special every Wednesday for Spaghetti and meat sauce for 9.99. It comes with a small salad, and a garlic knot. That`s one of my favorite Italian dishes. Being raised in a Italian family, we always had spaghetti once a week at least. So anyway, I decided to go back there today, and placed my order for a take out. The staff, is very friendly and courteous. I was asked, what kind of dressing I would like for my salad, I chose Italian. I requested a dipping sauce for my garlic knot. Well,I got home, and instead of Italian dressing they gave me ranch. They forgot my dipping sauce for the garlic knot. I work in customer service, and understand that mistakes can, and will happen. I`m still going to give them 4 stars, as the food was very tasty. I did ask for a large spaghetti with meat sauce, and the portion was very good!! I`ll also add, that it`s angel hair pasta they use in place of spaghetti noodles, but that's not a big deal. Give them a try, and ask about there specials when you go in. read more

One of our favorite local businesses is Uncle Scott's Pizza! A few months ago, they advertised a chicken salad sandwich - I think on Instagram. I know, "PIZZA" is in their name, but I wanted to try it. It was a very good sandwich, and was filled with chicken salad! Sometimes, places skimp on the portion, but not Uncle Scott's Pizza! I think I got chips and a drink, too. Another positive experience is what we had just a few days ago with GrubHub. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, meatball sliders, and a Stromboli with mushrooms, spinach, and meatballs. Delivery was great with GrubHub - we were kept updated on the status of our order, and got feedback from the driver and the app. If you haven't tried Uncle Scott's Pizza yet, you need to make plans for dinner, or carryout and eat at home. read more

My husband loves Uncle Scotts Pizza, goes there for lunch at least twice a month (probably more). We decided to try Scotts Snake Bite Pasta and some of his super Garlic Knots for a super bowl party. It's not bad pizza, it's just not great. I got the veggie pizza, which had a generous amount of toppings, but some of them were canned (like the mushrooms). The dough was a bit undercooked in the middle. But delivery was really quick. Again, not the worst pizza ever, but we may try a different place next time. read more

Have been here a few times in the last two months. Have not been disappointed. Have tried the pizza and various pasta dishes. Nothing wrong with the pizza, but the past dishes are the greatest. We have recently moved to the area, so we have taken advantage of the great food while we were still unpacking. Love that you can get a small portion or a full size order of the pasta. The Spinach Mushroom Alfredo is one of my favorites. My wife loves both the Angel Hair Spaghetti with Meatballs and the Chicken Alfredo. For a small neighborhood place the food is great. We only tried pizza, but they had a nice selection of subs, pasta, etc. The problem is when your name has the word PIZZA in it, you need to have good - or great - pizza. We are from Endicott NY where the pizza is made by all the Sicilian's off the boat back in the 50's. So the pizza, pasta well everything Itailan is the best you could ever taste.
