Orange Juice With Fruit And Toast

Classic place to go at breakfast. It of course has pancakes. Uncle Tom's is a longtime popular place in Normal, and looks like it has been around a long time. Has pretty limited hours, just mornings into early afternoon. The food isn't much healthy but they do have some fruit and better options. Besides the pancakes, they have other popular items at breakfast. It also has omelets, which are popular for the gut busting crowd around here. The vegan options are few, but they do have some. It's about $2 for coffee. Orange juice is the healthiest beverage, if not a bit sweet. For sure pancakes are the main thing of course. They can make these individually or have big stacks. Fresh fruit is about $2 for a little bowl. Toast is about $1 for a few slices. Gets very busy at breakfast. It seems it's more popular with the longtime locals than the college students. That's not saying this isn't a cool place but many will think like that though.

Stopped her for breakfast. We had three steak and eggs with pancakes. I'll have to admit the food was DELICIOUS! This is now my #1 place for breakfast. The price is average for what you get. The service was great! The atmosphere is quite and very dated. It's a tight fit. The decor is old and run down but the place is clean. That being said, the food was DELICIOUS!! Very flavorful.

Nice diner, good breakfast. Service was polite and helpful. I had the breakfast skillet with pancakes. My wife had the chilaquiles, they were authentic and amazing!

Tom's eggs and bacon breakfast. Very taste. Would recommend the restaurant anyone driving by.

My brother and I were driving up to Chicago craving some breakfast food and we saw a sign for Tom's Pancakes and decided to give it a shot. Absolutely worth it, right off I-55, friendly fast service and the food was excellent. Dare I say, my brother says it's the best waffle he's ever had. Cute little family owned restaurant that I'll be adding to my list of must stops when traveling. Incredibly reasonable pricing as well. Love it !!

I think their breakfast is great. I call in carry out orders and they always taste good. Great value. My wife likes their eggs benedict.

Nothing special. Much smaller than expected. And very slow service for a Saturday morning. The eggs were bland and the pancakes mediocre.

That said, nothing here blows me away taste, or service-wise. I've never had a bad meal or service issue here either. I considered a demerit this time around for the current prices, but frankly it's the same way everywhere, esp for bfast. The biggest downside is probly the ambiance, which is more on the noisy side based on it being a pretty large place these days and still pretty popular. I can't comment on lunch or dinner because we've never tried it, but the place prized brunch spot mostly by folks middle-aged and up (with more families/kids on the weekends) for its all-around consistency.

A huge drink menu welcome us and we…read morehad the Beyond jalapeño cornbread for a starter, which proved to be quite yummy and not hot at all. We decided to go with the rustic pizzas that were delicious and unusual: harmony, Korean, chicken and loaded supreme. The crust tasted like it was from a woodfired oven and the Korean chicken pizza was so unusual and tasty with kimchi and pickled shiitake. The fresh from the forest mushroom side dish they gave us a special treat to us was quite a delicacy. Even the farm to table items they have for sale when you walk in to take home are a treat, Especially the homemade marshmallows! Ended with dessert of a fresh orange olive oil cake with just tremendous flavor and blood orange on the side and orange marmalade on the cake. It served exquisitely with a side of homemade ice cream that was to die for. We can't wait to come back! Our waitress, Lupe, treated us like family and was incredibly personal and warm. Put this on your must visit List.

We started with the sashimi plate. The fish was fresh- including tuna, salmon, shrimp- placed over small celery bites. A variety of sauces were dotted around the plate's edge. The dish would have benefited from some ginger and more sauce. Our entrees included Pork Coppa Ramen- which was a solid dish- strong beef broth flavor and the sambal (chili sauce) -a few cents extra- added a good depth of flavor. The fish bowl- tuna, salmon- with rice, pickled veggies, and gim (Korean seaweed) was tasty. It was even tasty the next day cold out of the fridge. Our server Jack did a nice job- we sampled their roasted carrots- and they were actually our favorite bite. We also had the potato graten and they were tasty- but could have been easily skipped with our Asian dinner vibe. The restaurant has a great eclectic historical vibe and was busy on a Friday night, but still felt spacious. The drink menu is a good selection- we enjoyed wine with dinner (a solid Pinot noir). I would definitely go back to have the pizza- which looked delicious at a couple of the neighboring tables. This is a great date night venue or girls night out.
