We tried many, but they were just ok or not good until we found Uncle Wang's. Their dishes are so delicious. We found our new favorite. The restaurant is nice looking and clean. Have been to this place several times last night was the last time. Ordered beef, fried rice and Mongolian beef. It was horrible!!!! The beef was tough and the rice was hard. I told my friend they have to be under new ownership because this food has never been this bad and they didn't even put soy sauce, napkins, or utensils in the bag. so I called this morning to confirm that they were under new ownership and the gentlemen who answered confirmed. We tried Uncle Wang's for the first time, yesterday. I placed a large take-out order to feed the whole family: 5 entrays, chow mein, rice, and pot stickers. They said 25 minutes and it was all ready to go when we stopped to pick it up. Prices were very reasonable and portions felt generous. Everybody ate and was satisfied with plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. Food was fair to good. I especially enjoyed the Cashew Chicken and Broccoli Beef. Orange chicken, interestingly, had actual hunks of orange, which was something different, but was a but heavy on the breading, making it a bit soggy by the time we actually ate. Might have been better to ask for sauce on the side, to add when we were ready to enjoy. Veggies were perfectly cooked and the meats were nice and tender. Flavors were on point. Pretty standard (American) Chinese staples, and all reasonably well executed. Nothing we tried was really amazing, but there was nothing that we didn't enjoy. My wife and I were craving for Chinese food the other day so we decided to Yelp and found Uncle Wang since it was close by our house. When we arrived. The restaurant was empty with no customers so we asked if we can get a booth. The waitress there declined and made us sit by the window and threw the menus at us. Just as we sat down another party came in ended up getting the booth with no problem. We were ready to order but the waitress was too busy catering to the other folks. Long story short. Just placed an order and was told it would be ready in 15mins. I drove out from Antioch and when I arrived my husband went in to pick up our food no one had even placed my order. Both times the quality of the food was some of the best I have ever had. The portions are very generous. The service is outstanding. I found this place on Yelp and saw that it had good reviews and the food looked good in the photos, so I decided to go try it with my husband and my kids. I'm so glad that we went! We loved the food! Everything is so delicious, the beef chow mein, combination fried rice, broccoli shrimp, string bean chicken, sweet and sour pork, and the veggie egg rolls. It's changed hands and is totally different. I ordered at 4:10 it was not ready till 4:35. They said the same chefs were still gonna be in the kitchen. They definetly are not. The honey walnut prawns did not have the nice coating like they had before. Served on coleslaw. The crab puffs had a lot more mayonnaise then crab. They came out soft and not very tasty. Chicken chow mein was luke warm with not much chicken in it. The soups were not hot they were also Luke warm. I gotta say this i miss uncle wangs. From the staff to the chefs. My husband & I wanted to eat at a local Chinese restaurant, and this looked like it had really good reviews. I obviously hadn't been here in quite a few years, so things had definitely changed. The neighborhood has gone way downhill for sure. We thought it might be a bit busy on Xmas Eve, but we got there around 4pm, and we were the only customers. We were greeted by a small 5yr old girl who said we could sit anywhere, so we picked a 4 seat table. As we were waiting for the waitress the small girl was playing on her tablet which had an annoying loud musical game, which I think the waitress later told her to stop playing. The small girl then was laying down on the long booth bench taking a nap for the rest of the evening. There was also what must have been her 7-8 yr old brother helping out bringing TOGO orders up front. The nice waitress came by and took our drink order, then came back with menus, and took our food order. I was kind of surprised they no longer bring out complimentary hot tea anymore. We decided to get a few items to share. We started out with an order of Vegetable Spring rolls which came with 4 very small very hot spring rolls $6.75 which were good but the sweet n sour sauce was rather runny. For main entrees we ordered Chicken Chow Mein $10.75 which was ok but the noodles a bit chewy, and the chicken was dark meat chicken so it was a little fatty. We also got an order of Honey Walnut Prawns $15.75 which were plump and tasty, just not enough prawns or walnuts. We got an order of Lemon Chicken $12.75 which was just ok. The small battered fried chicken pieces were a bit overcooked so they were too crunchy and the batter had a slight bitter taste. I used their family restroom which was full of cleaning buckets, and chemicals. The counters out front and some of the tables had TOGO containers, napkins, buckets, misc. boxes, and plates stacked on top on them. This place definitely caters to mostly TOGO orders since only one other couple came into eat the entire time we were there. read more

The restaurant is in a very convenient location. I have been there a couple of times. The place is clean and well-maintained. When I sit there, I feel comfortable and relaxed. I've always TRAVELED to Pittsburg for their Combo fried rice but I live in Antioch. Plus it's ready to stop there after work. I placed 2 orders of COMBO FRIED rice and lately they've been skipping out on the protein for the second box. First box had all the proteins (chicken, beef and shrimp) which apparently OTHER restaurants give pork too. Second box had only shrimp and barely in egg or peas and carrots. I ordered orange chicken and they put it into a take out box rather than the typical al a care boxes which means a smaller portion for nearly $11.00 . I was so disappointed. I've experienced this before but I thought I'd give it another try. The food is good and not greasy but the quantity for the amount of money is unfair. I spent $37 for 1 COMBO fried rice when I was supposed to 2 COMBO fried rice and a take out plate of orange chicken. Why are business slacking on portions BUT charging so high. I start to feel that I'm not wanted back say the business which this happens. Now, I'll find a place in Antioch. read more
