Closest thing to Starbucks in Saugatuck! That's a compliment. Fresh coffee and great service.

We stopped into Uncommon Coffee Roasters for an afternoon coffee and I am so glad that we did! It had a great energy and the lines (they have two) moved very quickly. The service was excellent (I ordered their special drink with some modifications) and they were so accommodating and friendly. The cold brew is also delicious. We are visiting from Boston and would definitely buy the pre-packaged cold brew if they sold it in MA! Hopefully some day. Until then, we will look forward to our next trip! read more

Fun coffee house. Lots of fresh roasted beans and high end coffee merchandise. But the cappuccino was only so so. Same with the latte.

Uncommon grounds has the best cold brew I have ever tasted (and I have had a lot of cold brew)! It is delicious! My partner, Duane, could not believe how great it was either. We talked to the owner and we were both inspired by him and his story. I am so grateful to have had his product and will be buying from his online store often. read more

Since my first review and first moving to Saugatuck, this really has turned into a great coffee shop for me. Yes, it is often busy & lacking in seating, but that's not to any fault of the staff, just is what it is. Great cold & hot coffee, Bonfire Latte is AMAZING... with it stayed all year round! Great little hip coffee shop. I had brewed coffee and a latte. Both were great. I also ate there several times. The hummus plate is a good healthy option. Tasty hummus. Ate whole grain bagels, those were good. Had the porridge, which was quinoa and apricots and honey. Pretty good. Egg sandwich--- egg whites, spinach, feta, roasted red peppers on whole grain english muffin--- this was DELICIOUS. But the very best, very best thing was the FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE To die for. I had to get it 2 nights in a row.... Only one bit of caution for Uncommon Grounds. Do not order food if it is busy. It takes FOREVER!!! But this place is great. Best of the best! Uncommon Grounds does a sublime job roasting coffee -- much of it organic and fair trade. Having a local outlet for fresh-roasted coffee is amazing. With that fact alone, Uncommon Grounds is worth a visit. But their food is fantastic as well, and the staff is friendly and helpful without exception. Went to this cute little spot on a vacation with some friends. In the morning we needed our dose of coffee and this was walking distance. They have great scones and I am not a big fan of scones but theirs I wouldn't mind eating again. Delicious coffee and tea. The 16oz Americano came with 4 shots. Oh yeah! I also had a pot of Oolong tea and it was of very nice quality. The ginger molasses cookie was a little dry (probably intentionally so) but very tasty. The ambiance is nice and cozy. They have enjoyable items for passing time like books, magazines, ornaments, coffee and tea merchandise, visible roasting equipment, and some crafts for sale. Saugatuck can be lonely and cold on a November weekday, and this bustling little shop is a great place to warm up. read more

Delicious coffee is made by the folks here! On our trip in the area, we walked here every morning to sit out in the patio with our dog and relax with our coffee. The inside is awesome and there is even a neat garden with seating out back. Wish we could clone this place and bring it back home with us. read more

This is our favorite coffee shop in the universe. My wife and I come to Saugatuck at least once or twice a year, with our most recent venture a day trip in which we left Chicago at 6 in the morning specifically to have breakfast at this place. Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful food and, better yet, wonderful coffee. We have bags shipped to us every couple of months that we order online. It's everything a coffee shop should be. There are basically three places to get coffee and sweets in Douglas/Saugatuck is this place stands out. Large indoor space plus garden seating, great coffee, tasty baked goods. Like coffee shops were before Starbuck's went and ruined everything. Parking is plentiful on the street but this is a busy town during 'the season' so don't expect to park close. But it's worth the (short) walk. Locals and tourists alike patronize this place, which is a good sign. read more

Awesome small little coffee shop. Their coffee has a great distinct flavor and they have amazing little breakfast sandwiches. This place is so adorable! It is a must-visit if you're in Saugatuck. The coffee is delicious, the staff is friendly, the service is fast, and it's pretty much within walking distance from everything downtown. I've had Uncommon Grounds at a few places around Michigan that brew it, however, this was the first time I've been to the actual cafe -- it was SO much better than what I've had elsewhere! Some of the smoothest black coffee I've had! We also grabbed one of their boxes of coffee and chocolate milk -- incredible! read more

My husband and I tried Uncommon Coffee Roasters yesterday on a visit to Saugatuck. I wasn't offered a receipt for my purchase and waited quite a while to receive my order. I wouldn't have minded, since they were busy, but after everyone had cleared out, I asked politely if they still had a order for what I purchased. I was told that "someone else probably took yours" and "I'll make your order in a minute" by a woman who sounded annoyed that I asked about my already purchased coffee. Once I finally had my order, my husband and I agreed that it is some of the worse coffee we have had. There are some really nice people in Saugatuck, but if you want to meet them, don't go to Uncommon Coffee Roasters. read more
